Is this the BEST room at Hilton Playa Del Carmen? Junior Suite/Oceanfront King Room Tour

  • We stayed at the Hilton Playa Del Carmen! It’s an adults only all inclusive. Check out the Junior Suite/Oceanfront King Bed room tour. Yes, there are more expensive rooms, but this might be the best room because of access to the pool, the beach, and two restaurants within shouting distance.

    My wife and I have been going here for 7 years (missed last year) and we are booked for Feb /22. We have stayed in every room....President Suite, second floor ocean front, regular room, swim up room. For our money, we love the swim up rooms. Not ocean front as the view is blocked. Private, and when you want to socialize, head over to the main pool. Great staff, clean and being close to 5th Ave. is part of the fun of being at the Hilton

      When you say "not oceanfront as the view is blocked" were you talking about the regular oceanfront room or swim-up oceanfront room. And what was blocking your view of the ocean? I know I want a swim-up room but I'm trying to decide between the garden-view swim-up room and the oceanfront swim-up room. Wouldn't want to pay extra for the oceanfront swim-up if I can't even see the ocean lol.

    Thanks so much for your review. I’ll be staying there next week. Quick question if you don’t mind how did the air conditioning work in the hotel room? Also was there any American TV shows/movies or Netflix? Anything like that if you remember thank you so much.

    • @thekendallbshow
      @thekendallbshow Před rokem +1

      Hey there! Thanks for watching! The air conditioner was solid. Worked very well. There is American television. Local channels from New York and or Miami. I don’t recall if there’s Netflix but there are plenty of options. You won’t want to watch too much TV! You’ll be wanting to be outside! Have fun!

      @@thekendallbshow thank you so much for your response. I really appreciate it and I do not plan on too much TV. I only ask because I needed to fall asleep lol I’m definitely spending my days outside
      Thank you again

    Great video, beautiful room! What tier Hilton Honors do you have to be to get the beachside benefits, etc.

      If i'm not mistaken, all you have to do is be a member. No one checked to see what level we were to enjoy the beach beds. Hope you enjoy! Thanks for watching!

    Thanks for the great tour, were you able to order room service through the tablet or did you have to phone it in?

    • @KendallB
      @KendallB  Před 2 lety +1

      When we were there we called the orders in. The tablet wasn't able to do it directly. It might have changed over the months. Phone service was very quick though. We got three meals pretty quick at such a big resort.

    Hi there, thanks for this video. Totally relatable and solidified our choice to stay here in June. Question, the tablet, are you able to order directly from it for services and room service?

    • @KendallB

      Hi Stephanie. The tablets were not working for direct order the last time we were there so we called orders in. Thanks for watching!!

    Hi there! I noticed your oceanfront room was next to the pool. Did you find your stay to be noisy?
    Trying to determine if I should book the garden view or oceanfront. Any insight would help! Thank you and loved your video!

    • @KendallB
      @KendallB  Před 2 lety +1

      Hi Kay. Thanks for checking in. Our stay in the oceanfront was vibrant but not noisy. There will be activities at the pool during the day (Like noon to 4). You can hear the music or performances if you have your lanai open, but the rooms are so big, it won't be a problem. Garden views are removed from the pool area so it will be much quieter around the clock. The pool shuts down at night so it was very quiet after 6/7 pm. Hope you enjoy your trip. Tell us about it when you get back!

      We went in May and got a great deal. Bahia usually has some kind of sale going on, but the least expensive times are usually shoulder season. I would also say you could find a lower rate during hurricane season, but not sure. Hope you get there. It is worth it. Thanks for watching!!

    Would you happen to know if theres a seaview room on a corner so you can see the ocean to without paying for oceanfront

    • @KendallB
      @KendallB  Před 2 lety

      Hi Brian. From what I recall, there are rooms where you can see the water that are not deemed oceanfront. There are some on the far side of the resort near one of the main streets. Also, if you are on the third floor closer to the beach, you should be able to get a peek-a-boo ocean view.

    Very helpful video! I am a Hilton Honors member Diamond tier. Did you have to let the hostess at Pelicano's know you wanted to be served breakfast/lunch at your beach cabana? Also, what are other perks on this resort for being a Hilton Honors member? I saw one video of another HH member getting her pool cabana comped. I'm not sure if it's because she's a member, had hotel credit, or had connections.

    • @KendallB
      @KendallB  Před rokem

      Thanks for writing! So I am Diamond as well. We did not get breakfast in the beach cabana but Pelicanos is steps away. I think a lot of people saved a spot and then went to eat (like we did). There are servers who will come around and bring you lunch for sure. The perks were slim at this spot because it is an all inclusive but the spot in the cabana area was primo. We did not try to get a comped pool cabana, but it doesn't hurt to try! Thanks for watching.

    Hi. Do you remember what room number this is? Also, I just signed up wit me a Hilton member. How do I ask for a room like yours? I currently have the option to do a swimup but I want it to be close to the action… not secluded. Appreciate any help.

    • @KendallB
      @KendallB  Před 2 lety +1

      Hi there and thanks for the question. The room you need to book is the JR SUITE OCEANFRONT KING. That is the room we had. Those rooms are in one section of the resort. There are the Swim-Up Oceanfront King rooms as well. Those rooms are fine too. I think they might have changed room classification since we visited but our room was 1134. It's right next to the ones they consider "swim-ups" but it is still close to the auxiliary part of the main pool. I hope that helps.

    Is there a way to look your room from the sliding door?

    • @KendallB
      @KendallB  Před 2 lety

      To look into your room? Yes. If you have all of the shades open, you would be able to see inside of the room. I would recommend closing at least the sheer shade during the day and the full shade at night for privacy. Since the resort is patroled, you wouldn't have to worry about any outsiders, only people staying there.

  • @redsealjourneymanreviews6647

    How many restraints did you go to

    • @KendallB
      @KendallB  Před 2 lety

      We went to all of them. Kalamata, Rincon, Pelicanos, Maria, and Spice. Not a bad choice in the bunch. Once we were on site, we only ate at the hotel. We had room service too.

    Did you feel like they treated you equally or different as a black couple? I’m hoping I’m hearing of isolated negative experiences. You look like you were excited to be in this resort.

    • @KendallB
      @KendallB  Před 2 lety +3

      Good question. We were excited to get there. We didn’t feel that we were treated any different. The service was very good all around for us from check in, to restaurants, to the other aspects. Nothing bad to report for us.
