I loved it. I can't say that the interior has been done badly at all. However, one might say that the modernistic furnishings are a bit off for so historic a house, but I feel that they fit quite nicely. If you don't like the more modern furnishings, you can always remove them and enjoy perhaps stone walls with a few tapestries thrown over them. That way, you can obtain the medieval feel. But a great house and furnishings, in my opinion.

Still beautiful but I have to admit I gasped when I saw the kitchen...just a little dissapointed... I want a chateau to look like a chateau inside and out that's what makes it special
It's not a "historic castle". Just a reproduction in a fairy tale style. Built in XiXth century.

Outstandingly beautiful home, that needs to be completely redecorated inside. Looks like many the furnishings were purchased at Walmart.
It started beautifully and immediately the foyer was a let down so I was hopeful it would get better but once the first bathroom was shown ... the tackiness would not relent. Fortunately it’s a beautiful home (exterior) and has great bones to be properly designed inside. I hope the new owners gut it.

I keep on coming back to view this wonderful place even though its sold. The buyer is very lucky and has great taste as it is my favourite Chateau and no harm dreaming.

It was gorgeous. Until the camera went inside. It's to modern, to plainer and modern. No character to the inside.

It's classically beautiful on the outside - as befits a grand french chateau , but looks to have been decorated by a Russian oligarch on the inside . If you could rescue the interior it'd be wonderful .

Stunning, now if I were lucky enough to own a Chateau I would want it exactly like this. Beautiful historical architecture with a blend of contemporary interior wow I love it. To me the contemporary modern interior makes it more of a warm comfortable home, I think this if a large place I could feel comfortable & at ease living in.

The approach to the chateau with the spires looming through the trees was promising, until I saw the front doors, like brown loafers worn with a black tuxedo. The interiors were exceptional, if they had been installed in a modern glass and concrete structure overlooking the Pacific coast. Call me traditional, but I would have been much impressed if the interiors had been completely Louis the umpteenth with some chinoiserie accents.

Wow, it is beautiful and it looks to be in perfect order too. I think it's a good price (5.5m Euros). However, if you had 5.5mE to spend the upkeep would be unbelievable. I would certainly love to live there!
It's always the upkeep, isn't it? You could live very modestly with a well paying job and dream of a very nice place like this, but the reality is you still couldn't afford it. You need 10 to live in a place that costs 5.5 since you'll be spending 100k+ a year just to keep it going. You'll also need a serious passion for lawn care or it's another 40k gone

Upon first impression, the Chateau appears to be a hotel. The modern appointments don't correlate with the era inwhich the Chateau was built. I love modern conveniences without the modern appearance.

wonderful grounds and very nice and clean exterior of chateau. most of the inside was totally to my disliking. one of the prettiest outside chateaus that i have seen through this venue.

Just perfect. And those who say it was ruined by the interior...people want to live a good live with all that our time offers. Old furniture looks ok but that's it . If by a miracle I can buy a castle it will be something like this.

I'm always perplexed why a person who would want to buy a castle would refurbish the interior with such modern stylings. The two flavors to do not complement each other and seem to take away from the intrigue of living in a castle. The anachronistic interior made me a bit sad for the legacy of this chateau.

The property and house structure/bones are absolutely gorgeous. I have never understood why someone would then furnish it with furniture and art that clash so badly with the chateau itself. I do give two thumbs up to the seller and the realtor for presenting the house and property in an immaculate condition. I would seek out and hire the cleaning company they used, and recommend them to all of my friends!

It is a castle from the late nineteenth century, early twentieth. If you want to refurnish it with original furniture of the time, then you will multiply the price of this castle by five or six and it will take a lot of time. It is easy to criticize the interior design, but you have no idea of the price of antique furniture quality, at best you will buy copies.
Actually these days antique furniture is sold cheaper than you think! (At least in europe) No one wants or buys it anymore, so the prices dropped extremley. I got my "new" original dining table from 1890 for 600.- Bucks from an antiques dealer😅 and found matching dining chairs from late 1890's, early 1900's for 160.- Bucks the piece! (i have seen dining chairs for 150.-/200.- the piece at Ikea, and in other places here a normal wooden dining chair usualy costs around 250.-!) You just need patience and compare the prices and you can find the craziest old things for realy good prices 😀

if the potential buyer really likes the old architecture then why have modern interiors? these chateaux look and feel weird with that type of interior decoration. Those high ceilings and huge rooms need grand chandeliers, huge marble fireplaces, a serious art and furniture collection.And of course keep all the crown moldings, wood panelling, parquet de Versailles etc

The exterior is fantastic. But the modern retrofits on the interiors are hideous and ruin what could have been a beautiful place.
I saw it on my cable TV Wealth channel in the US. It was absolutely breathtaking charming before the renovation. They were trying to sell it. Now it's like a Hollywood or Disney princess movie decorating
