This song was originally sung by The National on the HBO adaptation of Game Of Thrones, but the version we based ours off of was Malukah's beautiful acoustic version... So I guess you could say this is a cover of a cover, haha! :)

Compare the flags of House Lannister and House Reyne and read the lyrics of this song and you will truly understand. Basically, You may look like House Lannister, talk like House Lannister, have as much money as House Lannister, but you are not House Lannister. House Reyne learned that the hard way.

I mean that's kind of the point. They're supposed to be unsavoury characters. that highlight the flaws they try to exemplify. Jaime is distasteful because of his pride. Tywin is dislike able because of his arrogance, manipulativeness and borderline abusive ness of his own children. And cersei sucks because she's petty, vengeful, and bloodthirsty.

GRRM based this event loosly on a piece of English history. Edward I (then Prince Edward) wiped out a rebellion led by a lord called Simon DeMontfort. Simon's sigil was a silver lion on a field of red (in contrast to House Rayne which is a red lion on a silver field).
