It's no secret that the biggest names in pro football get paid huge amounts of money to endorse different football boots. From new models, to signature colorways, we're lead to believe that they not only love the products they're wearing, but even had a hand in the design! But what if that was only partly true?
Well, in today's video I highlight and explain 5 times pro footballers refused to wear their own boots! Neymar, Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo and more, all choosing to wear something other than what's being advertised to us! Why? Let's talk about that!

Toni Kroos is my football boot hero. It takes guts to have endorsement deals on the table, and to choose the same boot year after year in spite of increasing pressure to sell out. I doubt his game would be as polished in another boot family.

Messi has always been very particular about his boots. Even past the TUNIT series, whenever he wore the adizero boots he always had a leather upper. Adidas did sell leather versions of those models in some colorways, but they really marketed the synthetic versions and yet the best player in the world never wore them.
The way it should be. Leather is way better than crappy synthetic and primeknits

Tyrone Mings for a long time refused to wear the Nike timepo legend 8s and sort out and saved as many of his issued legend 7s as he could for a while even commenting on insta to say he didn’t like the 8s. Once they improved in the legend 9s he went back to them before trying other boots and brands
Harry Maguire when he first came to Man Utd did the same by wearing some of his legend 7s that he wore during the World Cup and his time at Leicester before fully switching over to Puma. On Mings not sure if it’s true but I do remember seeing him wear a pair of tiempo legend 6 last season.
The 11pros felt so light on the feet and molded to my foot so well! Some of my favorite of all time.

2015 pro 11s were a great boot. the tongue was rubbish for slipping, but feel and style wise they were top bins.
I feel bar the copa 19 and 20.. don’t think adidas has produced any leather boot of that quality.
The Predator X was a very popular rugby boot.

F50 Tunit had those tranaparent heel cup with absolutely no padding which was huge blister maker and no lockdown. Overall boots were shite and I sold them two weeks after I bought them, I was more happy that I sold them than when I bought them.

i tried to change my boots every year like a pro but even the same series varies so much in size since i dont have any highend store out here i have to order them online i always picked the same size and got boots that were way too big even tho same size i couldnt even shoot in these since then i am using the Adidas 15.1 X FG/AG version and i am happy never switch again

That’s actually a pretty common modification amongst a lot of pros wearing the X. That’s been the case since the X 18, when they first introduced that type of heel liner/construction.
