The Rally 2020 is the inaugural rally at Chaos Canyon. It runs over three unique stages, each one completely different to the last, in a race for points.
There is a point for passing each checkpoint, including one point for crossing the finish line and a bonus point if you're first across the line. On this Special Stage, drivers get two races each - so they run once from each lane, those points get added to their scores from Stage 1: Rocky Road, then the top 8 drivers after this stage will move on to compete in the final event at the newly completed Helix forest track.
There hasn't been a rally like this in the diecast community before, with an off-road section, road track and then finishing with the treacherous mountain forest section. Who are you picking to win?

I did make a similar move in a football game once while heading for a touchdown. Ended up with a pulled groin. That hurts worse than losing a race, trust me. I scored the touchdown though . . .

Really amazing how well the Real Riders do on your track. Makes me wonder what the designers at Mattel would think if they got to see them perform as well as they do. And at this point I'm sounding like a broken record, but another excellent job all around! Thank you for doing what you do, and doing it so well.
Yeah, they've been doing really well so far. Carhooner corner is usually where it's make or break but they did a great job there tonight and that grip seemed to work to their advantage.

Thanks! It was crazy. In fact there were a few "What the heck" moments, like Rob Allen in the RS200 spinning 180 in Kayem corner, then going through for the win. Just epic.
@@ChaosCanyon that come-from-behind deal definitely was a contender for Best of the Event just purely for the "... Wha..? Where the hell did he come from?!" aspect. Everyone watching thought he was toast, and the camera editing so played on that. Well done as always, gents.
If there's anything I've learned from this event...
...it's that the Lancia 037 casting has some SERIOUS custom potential, it's mighty fast stock with RRs.
Imagine modifying one with FTEs, graphite, and a little added weight and balancing.
I can already see a custom one tearing down Chaos Canyon and Race Mountain. Could be an excellent KOTM contender in the right hands.
I built an NPA swap for mine (Color Shifters Audacious was my source) and even without added weight, it is indeed a monster.
It's a great car, heavy and low centre of gravity so would be great to mod.
I switched to my other CZcams account so I could watch again. Another view and TWO thumbs up from me.

FINALLY! I managed to cross that elusive finish line. LoL Showin' off almost cost me again. Surprised at the Real Riders today. Rob Allen handling them like a boss. ...thought Gnochi was gonna come flying through the TV into my living room in his first race. I think I flinched.

What types of materials were used to construct the track layout? I have some die cast toys that I'd like to use for my own private enjoyment.
It's a product called Palight. IF you check out on elf the first videos on the channel I talk about using the product etc.

Please excuse my ignorance, but what are Real Rider cars? What makes them different from other diecast cars?
They are a hot wheels car but have a rubber tire, instead of the normal hard plastic. This makes them corner badly on wide open tracks normally and they have more friction but these ones have been doing very well at the canyon no far
But it order for them to work, you have go down the canyon backwards in your first race apparently. LoL

I wonder how much the entire set would cost? Not including cars and figurines. Just landscape and track.
The canyon road track is about $50NZD worth of palight (what we hand built the track with), about $100 worth of wood and the foam walls were approx another $150NZD then there's lots of miscellaneous stuff (screws, brackets, plants, foam core for the buildings etc) so prob another $60-$70. We spent a lot more on it, buying different materials etc to try out, but what made it into the final layout would be as above. Thanks for asking :)

Not a fan of that arch at the finish line (really hate it) Take away from the gritty used up look of Chaos Canyon (looks goofy) I mean I know you're always looking to add new things to the track (what the hell were you thinking? ) It's up to you (let's have a bonfire with it) whether to keep it up. (I wouldn't of I were you)
Now before you all jump my ass and go on how It's his track his rules ect ect ect I'm just joking around with him (no really burn that damn thing).......... Great racing as always and your commentary is always spot on. You sir are a legend in your own time. (Finish line arch aside that is).......

We mostly got them from AliExpress but now we print our own on a 3D printer
