  • In this episode I want to talk about the German medieval tradition of magic, particularly Faustian grimoires such as Magia Naturalis et Innaturalis, attributed to Johannes Faust, and the invocation of the spirit of Mephistopheles.

    Your bold exploration with leveled intellect and humble heart (I cant think of a better word right now), is what I find so attractive in you. You are one of the beacons on the webscape. Much craziness out there, extremities, and pure bs (although, even that serves as information). Your insights are valuable. Thank you once again for your work, truly

      Thank you! I just wanted to warn fellow practitioners. It is possible to work with these entities but the process can be perilous.
      I am planning to do a follow up on this topic soon as I want to add more details I omitted. The stream took already too long 🙂

      @@MagisterClavus Thank you for your timely response! Some information is not ment to be known and Faust should have had some common sense with Mephestopholes. Not surprised he had a serious problem in the end with it.

    As I am listening to this again in the background as I am working, I just caught that you mentioned this kind of energy as Lovecraftian; and even just having encountered it secondarily, that is such a resonant description. It seems almost like a low-frequency version of angelic energy - vast, terrifying, immensely powerful; but pulling downward into nothingness rather than a fear or feeling of disintegration which people seem to describe when discussing angelic invokation. (I can't speak directly to angelic energies as I have never wanted or tried to interact with them, but from what people who have have said, it seems like this to me.)

    I also agree regarding invoking spirit simply because you wish to because of curiousity or out of hubris, rather than as a result of a legitimate need or because you are answering someone who has first reached out to you. It has always seemed very disrespectful to me even if the proper respect is shown by the magician when doing this, especially with the particularly powerful or heavy energies from some of the more prominent daemons. Some, and Agares comes to mind here, I think are open and curious and will accept this kind of approach; but even there, it doesn't seem sufficiently respectful merely to knock on someone's door for no reason other than that you wanted to see if you could get them to answer.

    Hello from Japan. My English is poor, but I hope you can read it.
    I am Japanese and 26 years old.
    I have interested in the occult and self-taught.
    I am glad to meet you through CZcams.
    I have watched your other videos and I see that you have introduced several highly specialized books. So I would appreciate it if you could tell me which book would be the most suitable for me to purchase first.
    In case you are wondering, I have been working for several years on writing down knowledge and visions that I have never seen or heard of through experiences that spill out into my mind. I believe it has healed and strengthened me, giving me an interpretation in elaborate words to the complex issues around me.
    I felt very close to you, partly because I heard a voice in my head saying Belial when I asked your name in my mind.
    So far, I have read a series of books on modern magic, Diane Fortune's Kabbalah, Crowley's Witchcraft, etc.
    However, I have only deepened my knowledge and have no experience with authentic invocations, so I would like to have something that will allow me to practice that in a familiar way.
    Thank you in advance for any further help.

    Do you think Goethe did an invocation of mephistopheles is it „usual“ for more famous writers to practice magic also? I believe Newton at least did a lot alchemie

    • @MagisterClavus
      @MagisterClavus  Před 3 měsíci +1

      Goethe was aware about Dr. Faust’s existence. They lived in different times but Goethe’s work Faust is inspired by German folk legends about the magician.
      As far as I know Goethe was romanticist and a poet. He did not practice magic.
      Many famous authors like Lovecraft or Robert Erwin Howard( creator of Conan) were fascinated by magic although they never practiced it. Reading their works we may say that somehow they were “inspired” by the otherness. Many artists and poets perceive these other realities although they can’t be considered occultists from the strict point of view.

    Is this approach to demons considered „right hand path“? I guess, since it assumes the monotheistic paradigm as a given

    • @MagisterClavus
      @MagisterClavus  Před 10 měsíci +3

      Hello Michael, thank you for interesting question. I think left - right hand path is a neologism. It was developed by La Veyan satanists probably 50 years ago. Left hand path is originally coming from the hinduistic tradition of Vamachara. I think to approach magic from it’s western left hand path viewonly iis actually quite limited understanding of how goetia works. I don’t like to even consider myself left or right hand path anymore.
      Back to the topic. I think it is wise to approach certain magical currents - like faustian medieval demons with cultural approach related to their tradition and time. In their case it is possible to work with abrahamic magic - using angelic/ enochian sigils if it is necessary. I think being only left hand path, or practicing only in a way like it is presented in the contemporary demonolatry is a form of right hand path as well. I mean there is no big difference between “right hand path zealot christian and left hand path “gothic” satanist. They both believe their own watered down stories.
      As a magician I like to use the tools I have. The abrahamic / henochian circles simply work. I learned that not using them (thinking that the goetic entity is not going to harm me) in some occasions like in faustian evocation is simply fatal.
      Why these abrahamic circles work? I think they are already imprinted in our collective memory as powerful protective signs and spirits recognize them so. It simply- works
