Hi Tony,
I set one up for my Oxy, it's the iKon 2. Setup was a breeze and the performance of this FBL unit is great. With regards to auto level or rescue feature, they probably changed it but I'm not seeing that set center on the menu. I used some type of bubble level and placed it on top of the motor when I'm setting it up for zero pitch at mid stick, then adjusted my pitch and cyclic degree when it's all leveled. When I double checked the rescue feature, swash does go up evenly then slowly returned to its low position. So hopefully my setup is ok.

On page 12 can you explain more on a external governor how to set up that page or do I push external governor some where in there. I have a castle talon 60. I’m on your forum also.

I'm using a standard receiver with 7 channels. IKON says a standard receiver is 6 channel. RX701 protocol is DSSS. What receiver do I choose on the IKON ?
great video! in the orientation menu it appears that the unit can not be mounted on the right hand side of the heli (as everything references LEFT)..am i interpreting this correctly?

Hi bud can I use first generation Ikon dx6 new generation on a 600 size helicopter
I have a 800 size airwolf that iam setting up. I put both sticks in center and adjusted thru the program zero setting on the 4 servos. and then set the end point to 99% both ways. but at that point the servo arms are bending when you go full stick. what iam I doing wrong/
There is something binding somewhere. If you find it, then you can figure out what you need to reduce, be it cyclic or collective. From the sounds of it, it's going to be collective. Have you measured your collective and cyclic pitch? If so, what are they set at?
I haven't got that far yet. what I mean is setting the travel at 100% via the program, my servos are going past the mechanical limits of the devises
I wonder if it is my system. Iam using a frsky horus with a x8r receiver connected to the ikcon2 via sbus connection. maybe it would work better going with spectrum for this
With the frsky, I'm not sure. I have only set these up with spektrum systems. But there should be a menu in there where you can reduce the amount of throw on the servos.
So if I go with spectrum radio and use 2 sats how can I get 2 more channels for lights and retractable gear?
can you program this to have max bank angles like on the blade 200 srx? there a lot of crappy pilots, like me, that want a big bird (500 size maybe) to fly with 3 modes of flight like on the 200 srx that have at least 2 modes of bank angle limitation
Hi. Thanks for this great video. Must all the servos stay unplugged until panel 5 (servo selection) so it only start up with the throttle wire from the esc? My esc is a Hobbywing 100a v3 with bec. And can I inset the throttle min and max values in panel 10 so I don't need to calibrate the esc with the Sticks on my tx? Thanks in advance.

I set the ikon2 up but don`t know how to change the setting to 100 in that one setup chart. I`m using my spectrum dx8 .and in the setup program I don`t have the size of the helicopter.do you know what is wrong.
CZcams moderated your comment for some reason.. Sorry about that. To adjust to 100%, you will go into your servo settings menu (I think that is what it is called) and you will go to your Travel Adjustment screen. In there you will choose what control you want to adjust and you will adjust them until you reach 100 in that menu. As for the helicopter sizes, that one I'm not sure about. page 4 heading lock. When i change my out put for gyro gain to 3 position switch heading lock does not turn on till 5% gain ? no heading lock at 45

on the tail setup does it matter if your tail is on the left side or right side as you are facing the rear. In the vid yours is on the rh side
The side that your tail blades are on is going to be dependent (in most cases) on the rotation direction of the head. All of my blades are clockwise which wants to push the tail to the right when looking at it from behind. Having the tail blades on the right is just the way these were meant to setup. If your head spins CCW, then it might go on the left. But most 3D heli's are on the right. www.Rc-Help.com

What about my Devo 7 ? How do I set it up for the IKON ? I gotta buy a $400.00 transmitter and $100.00 receiver to use a IKON ?
Nope, you can connect up the receiver you received with the Devo to the Ikon and use it that way. But only Spektrum can use satellites only and only Futaba uses SBUS that I know of. I'm sure others can use it. But if you go through the receiver menu you will see the wiring diagram for the full receiver method. i guess the IKON is not a receiver, i order a dsmx satellite, my IKON is on my 450x, i got stuck on the receiver page cause i did not have a receiver, like i said, i bought a dsmx satelite, one should fine, do i have to have a rx receiver???

another question, it says set your servo arms to 90deg. does that mean 90 from the servo body or the ball link end
That would be 90º to the linkage rod. That way, you have equal movement when adding or removing pitch. www.Rc-Help.com

That is definitely a fantastic gyro. I have setup quite a few and in fact I have a members SAB Goblin 570 sitting here that I need to setup with teh Ikon2, BK Servos, XNova motor and Hobbywing 120A ESC. It's a beast of a helicopter! I'm glad I could help out.

It will work, but you will not have a governor. Just means it will bog when you give it a lot of collective which can be countered by a different throttle curve such as a V curve. I can't remember, but there may be a way to set the governor to on in the gyro. But it will be "always on". I will need to look into this. Now I'm wondering lol. wait, are we talking about electric or nitro? If electric, you can set the governor in the ESC. But again, you will not be able to turn it off. Either way, you can fly it without a governor.
