I frequently visit Russia. I have a CIS passport. I think she acknowledges she is very privileged. In Russia you have to play the game. You can't really be a big youtuber and show the dark side, criticise too much. But if you're from America you can understand when a millionaire does a video about their life. Understand that's easy for them to do. With a country you're unfamiliar with it's far harder. The average person in Tatarstan isn't visiting Australia for holidays. They are scratching out a life working on their vegetable plots at the weekends because they are struggling.

@@hnrccaa The strange thing is that CZcams isn't allowed to pay content producers in Russia any more. Also any transfers into Russia have to be through a non sanctioned bank abroad. Also Russia doesn't allow people to keep payments in dollars anymore they have to be converted to Roubles within a few days. So she's doing very very well to get round that.

A higher percentage of Russians travel internationally for leisure than Americans do. Cost of living here is very low so Russians spend a higher percent of their income on socializing, travel, and culture than in in west. I have been in 92 countries and moved to Russia from USA 24 years ago and see Russians are much more likely travel than Americans because so few Americans can afford. The cost of living a more constrained life in the US is for the average family is so high, Russians have better quality of life, far more options and lower stress, very low crime, far more options. I am an expert in both living in Russia and US, and see Russia is more open,honest and humane with a constantly improving quality of life for average peope. The US is very violent, dishonest and corrupt with zero interest in improving the quality of life, doing nothing for the million who are homeless, the only and only works for the very wealthy.Quality of life for Americans of average status is poor. Cost of living is the highest in the world and government has not passed a law or program in 30years that benefited the average people. The foreign policy of the US is the most aggressive, having invade, regime changed countries all over the world and murdered over 27,000,000 people who did nothing to the US. Is there a single war or conflict in the world today that the US did not start or work to blowup. The US government lies about EVERYTHING and the corporate media and censorship is impacting everyone. Ask anyone in the world is the "Empire of Lies" and everyone knows what country is being referred to.

@@stanspb763 Firstly I don't live in the US. So the classic whataboutism doesn't really work on me. I live in Slovakia, my Father is Armenian so I also have an Armenian passport as well and with the CIS I don't need a visa for Russia so I have frequently visited.
Compared to Slovakia, Russia is very very suppressive for instance you have a law that makes it illegal to publish "knowingly false information" about the Russian military and its operations, which basically is used to prosecute anyone who says bad things about the Russian military. Even on the internet. Especially the terrible killings in Bucha.
Roskomnadzor insists all media outlets in Russia only publish information issued by the military information office. If you publish anything else your media licence gets cancelled and your journalists get arrested. Journalist Maria Ponomarenko got six years for just reporting on the Mariupol theatre airstrike for instance. The publishing of estimates of the numbers of deaths in the war is illegal. They even tried to ban the use of the word "war" in the media. Russian journalist Ivan Safranov got 22 years simply for writing a article on government corruption. To protest in Russia you have to get a permit and the police demand your details and can just say no. Russia has a gay propaganda law that bans entire books for adults.
Here in Slovakia we even have a Russian friendly (I would say more neutral) government and many Russian friendly newspapers but we also have pro Western Newspapers and politicians too. In Russia name one newspaper that is pro Ukrainian that still operates in Russia? Name one politician in Russia who is pro Ukrainian? You can't because you live in such a repressive country. I
get that the government might not be really concerned with what you say. Especially if they feel that you have a small audience which is manly outside Russia but the second you start being too loud they will arrest you. But as you live in Russia I guess you probably know that already.

I’ve worked with many Russians here in the U.S. and have developed a very positive impression of them. I found Russians are warm, hard-working, friendly and super intelligent people. I’d love to visit Russia some day.
They used to jokingly call me a KGB agent at my last job in the Chevrolet dealership, because I can speak Russian and lived in Moscow for more than 8 years. So, I embraced it. For the company Christmas party I bought a bottle of Stolichnaya vodka and taped a picture of Putin riding a bear on it with a note saying Merry Christmas from the KGB. It was worth a few good laughs and they loved it. Screw the haters, Russia is awesome and you have a great CZcams channel!

Before the war I used to watch Russian streamers on youtube etc, then right when the war happened suddenly they're cut off from youtube income since nobody can donate to them, etc. I'm sure there's still russian streamers on other websites but it should have never had to come to this, it's created weird tension between russia and the west too, that makes it more uncomfortable for people from both sides.
On the Russians side, you have the sanctions, ignorant people on the internet from western countries who just look for a russian person to gripe at, with there being westerners who see a regular russian just living life and telling them they need to go be a martyr and go against their government as if they can do anything about it. Meanwhile those people telling the Russians to go fight the government and get arrested or worse would not be willing to do it themselves. It was comical to me when I was watching NFKRZ channel before the war, to see how his channel comments changed after the war happened, suddenly you had new people coming to his channel just to yell at and blame a russian person for something he had nothing to do with.
Then for Westerners, we can't really travel to Russia as easily now, and if we do there's a weird dynamic now where the police are more likely to think westerners are spies, Russians probably are being taught that westerners are bad, etc. Not at all Russians would think that obviously, but there are some Russian drunk guys etc who might take that to heart and try to cause trouble with you just because of where you're from

I'm an American living in Russia and all those negative accusation really make the accusers look ignorant. Eli is actually a pretty normal Russian girl and living a normal middle class life, it's just that in Russia the middle class lives much better better than the middle class in the US and most people don't want to believe that becuase they're holding onto sterotypes from 30 years ago and they're too ignorant to actually try to learn about modern Russia.

I vividly remember being on a dinner boat in 2022. I was alone, and the tour guide made me sit beside an older Russian couple who were celebrating their 45th wedding anniversary. The woman and I got along really well. We had vodka shots and danced the night away. Even though I didn't speak Russian and she didn't speak English, we managed to chat using Google Translations.
The couple even invited me to visit them in their village in Russia. I would love to take them up on that offer!

Russians are nice and decent folk, most of the time, just like almost any other nationality. Their government however lies on par with US media, if not more.
Let me show couple examples:
Finland modernizes it's airforce to F-35's and we are acting agressively. Russia by themselves decides to adjust sea borders and us calling them out on it is Russofobia.
Finland sends letters to it's reservists and it is again act of agression, during same year Russian airfore aranted over 400 interceptions because they can't fly straight, and us calling it out was not proper behaviour.
The permanent victim state nation complains about atrocities nazis did, but heavens forbid you remind they did the same to eastern Europe before Germans invaded and you get called a Russofobe or spreading fascist propaganda.

I am in Moscow right now and i can honestly say that Moscow is the most beautiful Europian capital i have been to. You can really see it in the sun. My youngest son was born red headed but around 6 months old it turned blonde. I love red hair! Our govt probably won’t even tell us just to avoid any chaos. We are completely on our own. Most Americans just want to be left alone (by our own govt) to live our lives and raise our families. We don’t want any war! Our govt can send billions and trillions to fund every war and fully fund the lifestyles of every illegal yet they treat our veterans like trash, they have no money for the law abiding tax paying citizens, our homeless population is the worst in history, they allow our country to have diseases come over the border we haven’t seen in decades, they are taxing us to death, they’ve raised the cost of everything at least 2 to 3 times if not more, they are starting to arrest people for things that aren’t even crimes yet the fbi will show up and beat their door down, etc. yet to hear our dementia ridden pres. talk about it everything is great! Some have left going to live in other countries. I don’t blame them. I love what my country used to be minus the politics. But we’ve been lied to and everything kept so secret by our govt that a lot still haven’t woke up to the facts. Majority of the middle class and poor people don’t have the money to go anywhere. We are stuck! My pappaw who fought in WW2 always said if things ever go south (meaning go bad) in the U.S. go north! In other words go to Canada. But now they are no better. And if you try to go south you risk the cartel. No one wants to do that. I just hope our country can do better!
