Took my family there a few years ago.. Very sad place and much reflection on their courage by my kids was a good thing. Thank you for your video

Before becoming a PoW (later escaping) my late grandfather's last active service op was from RAF Tempsford in Handley Page Halifax V DK119 with an aircrew of nine. They took off on the evening of 22 July 1943. Special Operations Executive (SOE)-Operation "Mistral 3/ Princesse" and Operation "Tomcodio" They achieved all three objectives, but crashed I to trees Immediately after their last supply drop near the villiage of St sauvier in Central France

@@angelahambley1113 yes, it’s called Gibraltar farm - be sure to ask the farmers permission and check out the dispersal barn where the agents were kitted up before embarking the aircraft. I was last there with my late grandfather around 20 years ago, but plan to take my 16 year old daughter there soon

@@WorldWarMilitaria1942 my pleasure and honour to share his wartime experience. I posted a more in depth story on the BBC People’s war website. Just google Stanley Hathaway 161 squadron (special ops), you see a photo of him in uniform
