Bought a brand new GTO in 1965. Great car.
I did it in 1965 and 1966 without wheelie bars 12.23 was my best. Turned 13.65 on stock Redlines first time out with only a couple hundred miles on car.

Fast car
Lately I’ve seen quite a few 65 GTO videos. They are sweet looking rides for sure. I hadn’t been a fan of them before, but. I think I just didn’t see enough of them. It’s hard to explain what makes a car look great, because there are lots of very different looks that look great. I think it’s a combination of proportion and lines that combine in some way that appeals to our brains. Even a bigger mystery if you ask why they are appealing.
gto's were the first intermediate size to come from the factory with a big block in 1964.It is known as the grandad of the muscle car beginning. I still have a 1965 tri power 4 speed.469.4 c.i. Never a dull moment

Nothing nostalgic about those cars. Modern engines and drivetrains in old cars. Got to admit that the Vega looks a lot like an old Pro-Stock car.
If he’s not running an old Pontiac engine who gives a shit. Hot rodding is gone since the LS. No more build your own horsepower.
A pontiac motor I nothing to write off. I run a pontiac motor in my 65 gto. I just couldn't get rid of my tri power. I still have the 389 but I went with a 455 .060 over and still run the tri power. There are better setups but the tripower and 4 speed and 10 bolt 433 gear will stay as the old school isky 525 lift 320 duration cam.4 mpg but it sounds bad. It is bad.
