There are many reasons I stack gold and silver--generational wealth, a hedge against the dollar, silver for its dramatic upside potential. In this video I’ll share 5 reasons--rather dire reasons, I admit--to stack silver and gold this year. The last one, number 5, is probably the most historically credible reason to buy gold and buy silver, so I left it for last. But all of my reasons to stack precious metals are important! Some might sound a bit conspiratorial. But I do think there are serious threats that could be realized in 2024, and I want to urge you to consider them as you build your stack of silver and gold. The dollar's rein as the global reserve currency status is in jeopardy, and you need to protect yourself from out-of-control governments and central banks more than ever before. I think that all of these things have a potential of happening. I have no clue how dramatic these things will be and neither does anyone else. It seems to me that saving some of your wealth in metals would go a long way to helping prepare to a degree against some of these problems. I would have to say that one of the most important reasons is the decline of purchasing power of fiat currency. Gold and Silver maintain the purchasing power of our wealth. In Rome an ounce of gold bought about 400 loaves of bread and today an ounce will buy about 400 loaves of bread at current $5 per loaf.

Where would you recommand buying silver and gold, especially silver coins? And what exactually. some of these coins are expensive and others have mixed metals in them, which is the way to purchase them. For you know, bartering and purchasing things. Thank you there's just so many places to buy I had a somewhat negative experience with Birch. So no I haven't looked since then.
@@cathypiscitello3369 gold and silver bullion is what you buy. as close to spot price as you can get, as that is what you will probably get for it when you go to sell. monumentmetals, sdbullion, or bullionexchange are a good start. 1 oz rounds average out to about same price as 10 oz bars or higher, so I'd stick with the rounds or coins if they are cheap (.99 cents over spot is a great deal to me)

Recently I’ve seen a ton of negative comments about stacking. When I mention stacking, I mention my reasons. #1. A hedge against inflation.
#2. A hedge against a failed dollar.
#3. A shtf scenario including bank failures and a Wall Street collapse.
I do not stack as an investment. I hear comments like “your gold and silver will be worthless in a shtf, or any of the other reasons I stated above. And I know exactly where these comments come from. They come from people that bought gold and silver thinking they were going to strike it rich when prices went up. And when that didn’t happen, they sold it all for spot, or less. And now they’re bitter at taking a loss. Instead of buying for the right reasons, they bought for all the wrong reasons. Then gave it up.
Agreed. Not only that but they went about stacking in the wrong way, probably bought a lot at or near a market high, and then panic sold at or near a market low.
They never understood the fact that owning PMs is a long-term buy and hold situation. PMs are the "in case of financial fire, break glass" items in our lives. So
far, we have yet to have a real financial fire, so they tend to see anything that is not needed immediately as not being useful at all. In short, they bought into the
"sky is falling" hype surrounding the PMs market while totally ignoring the math of the current debt crisis... and it IS a crisis! It just hasn't blown up in all our
faces yet. I have zero doubt that it will blow up but have no idea when it will occur. Like many big changes in history, they tend not to be "events" but processes
that play out over time, usually decades but sometimes centuries. They virtually always take more time than many expect. Currently, they seem to be simmering
on the stove but not yet boiling over and scalding us. I doubt that we can maintain that situation for more than a year or two. No longer stacking silver here but
continue to stack gold every quarter or so. I buy more during a price dip and less during a price rise but am usually buying some to add to the stack regularly.
@@edb3877 Agree 100%. When the housing market finally crashed in 08, it had been being propped up with false information, and phony bond ratings. It should’ve tanked years before it finally did, but they played every single card they could for as long as they could. It’s very similar to the US dollar right now. It’s basically worthless as we speak, but it’s being propped up the same way, just cooking a different stew. The entire financial system is one giant Ponzi scheme being perpetrated by the Fed. However unlike our friend Bernie, that had to keep bringing in new investors to stay afloat, they just click a mouse, create six trillion dollars out of thin air, then crank up the presses. Good work if you can get it 😂 However the rest of the world is getting wise. And eventually have no choice but to stop accepting the US dollar. Repair garages will be using $100 bills to mop up oil spills at that point. And the price of gold and silver? Will be precisely what a seller of goods and services wants, vs what that holder of metals is willing to pay for those. An ounce of silver bullion could possibly buy enough food to feed a family of four for a month. Or even more, depending on how long it takes to reset the economy. Keep stacking my friend!!!

One of the reasons I stack (mainly gold) is insurance against other assets because as you basically said the world is drifting from crisis to crisis. It makes sense to have a percentage of your wealth in precious metals and to just keep hold of it and possibly add to your stack accordingly.
I love listening to Tim's political insights. I would like even more and have been trying to get up to meet him when i travel to MA, just haven't quite been able to line up times.

#4 is good. I didn't realize from that perspective but it makes sense. Also to mention: I have an acquaintance from Lahaina which was one who survived the fires that wiped out the city. He had silver locked up and when he got back he sold the melted lumps of metal for a fair price over the cash that burned up. He was grateful this was possible.

I've been alive and conscious for over 30 years and I have never in my life seen tin foil. Where did people get that phrase because we use aluminum foil because nobody is going to waste valuable tin like that😂

I think your top 5 reasons are right on!
The 5 reasons I stack precious metals when I can financially. (1) Precious Metals are outside of the system and can't be controlled. (2) they are a hedge against inflation. (3) Precious Metals maintain their Value unlike the Worthless Paper Currency (4) There's History in these Coins and were once used as * REAL MONEY *. (5) our nation just past 34 trillion dollars in debt and it's only going to get worse with this current economy.

Ive recently gotten back into stacking. I had to sell my old stack due to financial needs, but now im going to hold onto my stack by all means, im also a stacker out of new hampshire
I have a creditcard debt which im trying to pay down/off but ive been fortunate enough, being on a fixed income to have put away 80 troy ounces of silver. Ive also put away dried goods, canned goods, lead with powder and so much more. Folks, if i can do it, so can you!!! We all need to be prepared for what is to come, whether flood, tornado, electrical black out or even a war here on our own homeland. God be with each and every one of you. I one hundred percent agree with your top 5. I save my opinions on politics for another day. What I will say is that there are less than 3% of politicians that I trust. Most have their own agendas, and are certainly not looking out for we the people.
Term limits, paper ballots, voter ID, deceased voters do not count, polls close at 8PM on election day, and precincts are required to have both parties present and complete the count within one day. I'm sure that I left something out, but you get the gist.

I'm a seller of gold this year as we're seniors citizens living off of social security and a gov't pension. The inflation has hit us hard. That being said, some of that money from my gold sales will go back into buying some silver with the gold/silver ratio being what it is :)

That's because office was supposed to be a hobby not a career and of course you wouldn't have to stack because we would still be abiding by the Constitution by not using paper currency. And since the Constitution is the supreme law of the land that makes the paper dollar illegal
Go back and reread it. Constructional money is defined as Silver or gold. A real dollar is debt free and it’s real value determined by it’s silver content. Federal Reserve Notes are nothing more than IOUs and they decline in purchasing power daily.

There's no definitive cut announced by the FED and they still haven't reached their 2% target. They're using "possible cuts" to move markets. It wouldn't surprise me if we see another hike.

I’m using PMs for the “bond” portion of my portfolio. Until bonds get to a good interest rate I will never buy them.

I’m still trying to learn the mechanics of using precious metals after SHTF. I showed one of my 1oz silver coins to my friend who is a grocery store manager. I asked, “How much in groceries could I purchase with this?” She looked at it, rolled it over several times, said it was “pretty” and replied “about 25 cents”.
That learning curve will be quick should it come to silver for groceries! IMHO.

depend on people having faith in them as money. When that faith becomes known as misplaced, there will be a furious scramble for something to replace paper money.
Gold and silver are the most likely candidates for this and the metals with the historic monetary value. Central banks do NOT stack gold by the ton because it is pretty or
because, as Ben Bernanke once said, 'It's tradition." No, they stack gold because they KNOW that it is REAL money. They also know that fiat debt paper is not real money,
it's just the current substitute for real money. It is conjured up out of thin air via issuing debt and the current level of debt is horrendous. Such a huge debt load WILL cause
severe problems in the economy, in finance, in banking, and in many other aspects of modern living. Has this come to a head yet? No, it has not, but it sure is headed that
way and when, not if, it hits it will be incredibly powerful. People will not be able to plan for it unless they have planned ahead by converting part of their wealth from paper
assets into tangible assets. At that point, supply and demand issues absolutely will overwhelm the current gold and silver price suppression schemes out there. It will be a
terribly difficult time for most people because most people don't have any real money. At best, they will have a few pieces of gold and / or silver jewelry and that will be it. Meanwhile, most stackers out there will be loaded with hard money and able to buy just about anything they desire.
