I think a lot of the resurgence for MKX might have been due to the announcement that MK11 is officially done since NRS is moving to another projects. Personally, I never could get the hang of MK11, so now that it's no longer NRS' flagship I might as well jump back to something I know, maybe it's the same for a lot of people too.

I don't know if this applies to only the Drunken Master variation or not, but if he doesn't drink after a certain amount of time has passed, he will throw up and leave himself open for attacks, like he did in 9:06.
