      Exactly. Tyler Glasnow said the team and he could tell right away Ippei was doing some shady stuff when the news came out.
      There are some stupid takes from people who don’t care enough to read the affidavit so these shows and news reports are good for Ohtani.
      It’s is amazing to see how Ohtani is handling the betrayal of a close friend quietly and performing on baseball field at highest level.

    • @tmac1616
      @tmac1616 Před 24 dny

      Kind of a moron to believe Ohtani is completely innocent in this. His bank account isn’t large enough to the point where 17 million missing goes unnoticed. His big contract was deferred.

    • @Shakazulu6.1
      @Shakazulu6.1 Před 24 dny

      @@tmac1616 Ohtani knew nothing.
      He mainly uses another account he set up for his endorsement earnings. Ippei stole from the account he helped to set up for Ohtani’s MLB earnings and Ohtani never logged in for nearly three years until Ippei’s confession. He thought his agent was managing the account so he never cared to check
      Ohtani sent all his money to his parents and chose to live in a team dormitory for years instead of a luxury apartment so he could have an easier access to training facilities. He spent only $200 from $1000 monthly allowance while he was making millions in Japan.
      He tried to defer his entire contract to help out the team but his agent stopped and said he can’t play baseball for free so decided to defer 97%.
      All these facts about Ohtani are famously know. He is hyper focused on baseball and Ippei took advantage of that.

      Shohei probably has somewhere near 100 million (just based off of his endorsement deals in two countries) liquid assets right now split between multiple bank and brokerage accounts and denominated in at least two currencies.
      Now look at your situation. How many things do you set to autopay? How long would it take for you to notice if Netflix charged your double? Or if your insurance didn't cover what you thought they would and you copay was higher.
      The point being is that if you find it hard to keep track of less than 200k (just a probabilistic function), imagine what it would be like managing 500x that.
      Oh and by the way you need to do at least half of that business in Japanese.

      Not if the IRS criminal dept and the Homeland security fraud dept is involved simultaneously. Also, the fact that ESPN , which broke the story about the wire, has been dead silent about this is a good indication that they can’t find anything on the player either. Otherwise, they would be all over this to get more attention, if you know anything about journalism.
      The 37 Page report is pretty convincing, full of evidence. It’s more convincing than “ I have a hunch” or “ I am more qualified than the Feds because they make mistakes” type of justification.
