Thanks to another vacuum cleaner collector, I have the chance to try out the Sebo Duo dry powder carpet cleaning machine! A purpose built machine this, rather then a DC04 Zorbster, does it actually clean carpets? Does it actually do anything? Let's have a look!

I use a Sebo Duo for those awkward hard to reach jobs. Along with the duo powder and a Sebo BS360. I pre vacuum first, then spot treat any obvious stains. Then powder the carpet and leave the powder to dwell for 20mins (that's very important) then agitate and extract. Works well on carpets that aren't heavily stained.

I’d say this was an early 90’s one with the colour scheme coinciding with the first BS that replaced the 360. There were earlier Duo’s in the brown and cream colour scheme and the orange and cream Jeyes Hygiene colour scheme.

I think you may have used too much powder, not having to work it in by hand, maybe that doesn't matter as much.

There's a course they send you on to do it properly I think, it did seem a bit much! Probably to stop you going through the powder as fast if anything!

We have one of the envirodri machines at work hasn't been used in quite a while as the custom Alltec extraction machine does a much better job, despite the spiel the bloke from the company gave us when we first acquired it many years ago. Similar to machines like the one in the video but much bigger with approx. 15cm diameter brushrolls.
As for the plug and cable, I would expect a similar plug/cable would have been fitted to you vintage Numatic, as I'm pretty sure that's what my Grans HVC200 is fitted with and it's never been changed.
