    Brother I'm from the Caribbean, hibiscus here is grown from cuttings😊 this is the first I've heard or seen hibiscus growing from seeds. As a matter of fact I didn't even know hibiscus had seeds until now. You said in 8 months the seed plants begin flowering, but in cuttings here, you'll have a flowering plant within 2 months😊

      Plant will start flowering after 6 months... Yes cuttings will take much lesser time

      Yeah but you can‘t crossbreed cuttings like you need to grow from seeds if you want to do a new Hybrid

    A lady gave me a seed pod over 5 years ago and I was cleaning out my seeds so I threw all the seeds in a plastic bag on a paper towel thinking they would not germinate after so long. Every single seed germinated and caught me off guard. A few died but I have 5 strong plants now!

    I experimented by using hibiscus seeds from tea bags and they germinated after 2 weeks. Keeping my crossed that they’ll continue to grow. Thanks for the additional information on how to grow this plant.

    Very educational. I put clingfilm over pot and cut hole when seedling to be seen but also add 10% fine sand to help water drainage.

    I put my seeds between a couple of damp pieces of paper towels inside a ziploc bag and they sprout quickly
    This method works well for passion vine

    So i actually have a few hibiscus plants with pink red and peach and i mixed them all up and there’s a little seed pod on the pink plant and I’m sure the peach flower is the baby daddy but i cant believe this worked good video

    My seeds have grown just a small bit so far, under 1" high. The leaves are starting to die or turn brown. They are in potting soil. Not sure of the PH. Any suggestions would be helpful.

      Check for water content in the soil...as too much wet soil or lack of water can cause this type of condition ...they normally love cold climate

      Yes we can pinch the seedling to make it more fuller n bushier... When the seedlings are 7-8 inches tall at that moment we can pinch the top part just above a leaf node to force new growth from that node

    Hello your video was really nice. Am from Antigua and I have some hibiscus I grew from seeds going on nearly 2 years now and they haven't flower as yet. Do you know what could be keeping them from flowering?. It was my first time growing them from seeds because I usually do cuttings and the cuttings flower very easily. You're help would be greatly appreciated.

      Normally they flower after 8-10 months.. But it also depends upon the variety... Use npk fertilizer with high potassium n phosphorus ratio for flowering issues

      Keep the plant in partial shade.... In full shade it will die within few months...or just do one thing.. Keep the plant outside in partial shade for 2 days in a week...this way it will get enough sunlight to produce food... Water only when soil feels dry to touch... Make sure u do not keep the plant in direct sunlight as it will cause leaf burn
