Imagine commentating a legendary catch like that with 1 minute in the 4th of the Super Bowl in the most mellow tone voice possible.
Imagine thinking something that happened was better or more significant just because somebody yelled about it.
@@MichaelB769good take
@@MichaelB769sad but it's true. Commentators really do make or break sports moments.
@@MichaelB769 unlucky for you, people that love football would like commentators to love it too and call the game and possible historic plays with passion.
sad that this has to be explained to you
@@Tamago__ No what’s sad is that you place value on something based on other peoples’ reactions to it because you’re incapable of forming an opinion on your own. Come at me again.
The only way that this moment could be better is if Joe Buck wasn't the one that called it.
Yep. He'll always be trash.
seriously! i came here to say that too... if you were listening and not watching it almost sounds like a routine play
I don't understand why he gets so much adoration....elected to the hall of fame etc. His calls are terrible.
Joe buck was not inducted into the hall of fame. I think you're thinking of Troy Aikman
I agree. I hate him. However, a few plays later I think he made up for it with the TD call. It was exciting actually.
The catch was insane and Joe couldn't have sounded more disappointed.
Boy probably bet on the patriots 💀
Yeah alot of clowns did and got they feelings hurt GMEN for life !
The patriots were undefeated, the Giants were a long shot to win, Eli broke free of a game ending sack, threw a pass that ended up being one of the best catches in NFL Super Bowl history. And Joe Buck was like “the pass is caught..🥱”
i'm a giants fan but honestly that's one of most overhated calls in football history, pretty sure nobody knew what had happened so i don't blame buck for being his usual stoic self
plus the touchdown call that came right after was legendary
Good Announcers really make a game
Yeah he’s boring af
@@germ187 yall r so immature dude 😂 just watch the game idk why yall care about screaming commentary and all that
@@JakeTV370 nobody knew what happened? I’m a Giants fan too but cmon announcers have eyes and a monitor right in their booth. However buck has gotten better calling games since, like diggs game winner against the saints. Wish buck was that enthused for this one
Eli Manning escaping the pressure probably the craziest part of that play
Ikr? Patriots pass rush had him on the ropes when they tugged his jersey. I bet this play still haunts Vrabel and company for not finishing him off.
I remember watching this live. I thought he was dead.
Yea because the receiver did not catch the ball
Nowadays the refs would’ve blown the whistle to protect the quarterback. What Eli did was incredible and will never be replicated!
Yall missing that absolutely blatant hold on the guy that was tackling Eli... Definitely that's holding, definitely that holding let Eli escape, and definitely the refs would have called that any other time. It's ridiculous honestly
Imagine the last catch of your career being perhaps the greatest play in SB history…
nfl history. hell of a way to go out.
i still have butlers pick or santonio holmes because those was the real game winner
Malcolm Butler had the greatest play in SB history.
Wasn't it like his only catch of his career?
@@patrickmcginty8552 tf bro?
There are many reasons why this play is so good. The biggest one to me however, is that it was Tyree catching it. If it was someone like Randy Moss, Santonio Holmes, TO, prime Ochocinco, it would be hype, but expected. This was Tyree's fourth and last catch of his career. Most people didn't even know he existed.
Not true
I think he had 54 catches idk where you pulled that number from
@@max-in4os I'll be honest, I don't even remember typing this comment. Oh well.
@@max-in4os I believe he had four catches during the regular season.
Sports baby!
One of the greatest moments in pro sports, ruined by being announced by joe buck
also no holding calls..
thought the same thing while i was watching it and its funny cause i miss him now
Joe Buck made the play even better
Completely right. No excitement, and didn’t describe the amazing broken tackles or the catch
I never quite understood the hate levels this gets. It's not great but not as bad as people make it out. You want a South American soccer style "CAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAUGHT!", but I think he couldn't quite tell in the instant whether it was a catch or not.
It's taken me 15 years to be able to watch and appreciate this catch... Fkn devastated me in the moment.
I’m still not over it. I just can’t let this go. I’m a sore loser and hate how Randy Moss was never given the opportunity to obtain a Super Bowl ring.
Well jon bones Jones you will take that heartache to ya grave, cause it's nothing you can do about it GIANTS for life ! Lol
As a childhood Giants fan, this game was the culmination of many years of hope.
I’m a Cowboys fan and I despise the Giants, but this was the greatest Super Bowl I’ve ever watched and made me gain a newfound respect for Eli Manning and the Giants. This Giants team had no business even making the Playoffs and beating the perfect undefeated Patriots, but they did it!
Facts, we beat the Giants twice in that regular season. The were 7-8 and needed that last regular season win for the wildcard spot. We had the bye which resulted in Cabogate. Then they eliminated us. That helmet catch stopped the Patriots, who would've had a perfect season. Us Cowboys' fan's give that Giant team respect for that SB.
@@seanjones7474 just the fact that Eli escaped from that GUARANTEED sack that would’ve finished the game was incredible alone, then he dropped back calmly and threw the ball all the way down the field for a miracle helmet catch 😳🤯
Giants had a really close last game of the season vs New England and they probably downloaded a lot from that game.
Other than the QB position, this matchup was actually very even.
I said it the whole year - the Giants were the 2nd best team in the league. Eli just had to not screw it up. 200 yards, 0 or 1 pick, and they'd win. Their defense was great. Their run game was great. The receivers were great. He just had to not be a total disaster.
Greatest Catch of all time; greatest play in SB history
The catch is what’s remembered, but that play by Eli to actually get the ball off was clutch.
The commentary guy is way to chill 😂
fr
Joe Buck is one of the worst announcers in football. By far.
@@jimmy22334 he's gotten better lol but I understand where you coming from lol
@@jimmy22334 I’m convinced he was a patriots fan
The Giants always have the craziest catches
The scramble, the throw, the catch, my favorite part of the whole play was watching it with my friends. In a room full of Patriots fans. That was nice.
As a Pats fan, that catch was awesome.
This was the first Super Bowl I watched as a kid. Great memories and a great one to see
Tyree's catch was amazing!... ELI'S scramble to break free and get the pass off... that was MAGIC! 💯
Arguably the best play in SB history
Harrison trying hella hard to take the ball after Tyree is down 🤣
The best clutch catch in Sports history I saw was unbelievable!!!!!!!!!!!
My dad will never stop telling me how the Giants won the 2007 Super Bowl
If I was your dad I wouldn't either, it was only the greatest SB of all time
@@boris2997 patriots fan here , no it wasn’t 😂

Same with my mom and brother 😭
@@SlickRickMediaany time the pats lose it’s the best SB 💀
People don't understand just just how miraculous this catch was. It really might be the best catch in SB history. Put some respect on this catch!!
It really isn't it's just a flukey catch like Edelman's in the Atlanta SB. Best catches in SB history are in the end zone.
1:07 the man the myth the legend. Rest in peace Jared Lorenzen
One of those moments you remember exactly where you were, exactly who you were with, your surroundings in that moment, everything. Was at bar in down town Grand Rapids Michigan that is no longer there. Remember it like it was a year ago…not 16! Crazy, time flies.
Jared Lorenzen with that high five. Rest in peace, big man.
I watched this game in spanish back when Raul Alegre and Alvaro Martin were calling games. Man they were going crazy! It made this momment way more special fr!
This whole play is hilarious. Eli unathletic ass scrambling like micheal vick to the receiver absolutely pinning that ball as hard as he could to his helmet😂😂
This was one of my earliest football memories as a kid. One of the best catches to witness live!
Worst joe buck call ever. One of the most clutch moments in nfl history and bro is like “he caught it wow🗿”
Agreed. This could be the most underwhelming peice of commentary ever. Certainly in an all time Top 3.
Still to this day, greatest all time catch in SB History.
Greatest catch in NFL history.
Incredible plays by Eli and David. Play will be played forever. Was fun to watch. Great video
It was like it was there destiny to make that play.
Brady’s dad with a unreal throw
The Best catch of all time!!! 🙌
The greatest catch of all time
😂
I don’t know what was more amazing. The catch or Eli Manning escaping the sack
Both, honestly. I hate Eli 😒🤣
Amazing that the refs didn't call offensive holding on the entire o line
This was one of the greatest drives in Superbowl history!
The most amazing Super Bowl play to save a season and destroy one all in . The same play I’ve ever seen
As a ravens fan that was a beautiful play
This game taught me that, yes, God does care about football.
😂
God wouldn't know a football if his name was mercury morris
Giants love historical catches
Never forget this great game! ❤
I remember going insane watching that catch, I’m not even a Giants fan 😅
I'm a Tampa bay fan but I love to watch that insane catch
Same, I just love Eli manning
I’m Here Before This Comment Goes Viral
I was watching with my annoying ex girlfriend
This Catch Was So Insane, Might Have Been Better Then The OBJ Catch.
I Can’t Believe Eli Manning Escaped The Sack Multiple Times
Obj was WAY better
@@henryallen3208 nah
@@henryallen3208 odell catch was better but david tyree helmet catch was more difficult. odell caught the ball falling backwards with no one on him plus he was using sticky gloves. david tyree had to catch the ball with a defender on him, then the defender hit the ball and tyree had to secure it with him helmet while falling to the ground with a defender all over him
This catch better than obj he held on after holding on helmet and then then the defender trying to hit the ball out
This catch won a SB. Not many people remember the Giants lost that game with the OBJ catch.
I saw him the other day he was a humble guy and really cool and story from the helmet catch was amazing
Eli Manning has thrown some of the best passes in NFL history. His iron man status is enough for my vote alone. I watched this man survive some of the MOST disrupting plays/games and NFL Goats of all time. GIVE THIS MAN HIS HALL OF FAME
Amazing play by both Eli and David Tyree.
Greatest catch of all time.
I think what makes this play so great is that with how the rules work today no play would go on long enough to even allow that to happen

The greatest play not just pass but play for Eli to escape that blitz and make that play the absolute best!!!
It took a once in a lifetime play to beat this team
probably the clutchest play in NFL history
This play led to me winning a Crunch bar when I was in 5th grade. Shout out to you David.
The definition of "i've been waiting my whole life for this one moment"
It was a prophetic catch, that had been prophesied to him, & began his platform.
I’m a huge patriot fan and for years this pissed me off.But now since I’ve grown this is one of my top plays ever.
ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL
Insane catch!!
Still gives goosebumps
Magnets
Such exciting commentary, really made me hyped.
In the grand scheme of football history, David Tyree is a absolute nobody. But when the Super Bowl was on the line, against arguably the greatest team ever assembled he made the play of his life. For that play he will be remembered as long as the game is played.
That’s what makes the Super Bowl so special, you can be an absolute nobody but if you show up on Super Bowl Sunday you’ll spend the rest of your life immortalized.
I legit had no idea this would be in my feed today 😃
I was in Santiago Chile with my best bud from Boston. The only bar on the strip showing the SB. My bud got so hammered in the first half he didn't remember what happened. He was trash talking in the morning when I told him the result. He didn't believe me till I showed him online LOL
"it is caught by Tyree." is big "It is your birthday." energy
the chills
Still perfect, from a dolphins fan. Thank you Giants.
Yeah but imagine if Randy Moss made that last catch 😮
Maybe the greatest throw in nfl history honestly, if that was completed it would easily be a top 3 play in nfl history
“Pressure from Thomas off the edge, Eli Manning… stays on his feet, airs it out down the field…. It is caught by Tyree.”
I remember this like it was yesterday
It’s crazy because if you watch closely, Rodney Harrison actually knocked it out of his grip but the helmet really saved him 😂😂
But even as a Patriots fan, I have give props on one of the greatest plays ever ‼️
0:57 the best replay
Giants fans, remember a qb who made plays? A qb who was clutch? A qb who always showed up through the best and worst of it with no injuries? We used to have it good. Manning was a champion. Now we are stuck with bum Daniel Jones. But not for long. I swear we will draft a qb for 2023 and hopefully that guy will be THE guy
For a champ he sure had a lot of bum years.
@@Paul-vf2wl why am I getting a notification from a year old comment? You are one sad little man, huh? Anyways, stay mad at the 2x Super Bowl MVP and champion. Only 5 quarterbacks won 2 or more championships since REALIGNMENT to now and Eli is one of them 😌

All-time Goat catch
Then Santonio Holmes the following year. Two great superbowls, two great catches back to back.
In both games, the winning touchdown was scored with 35 seconds left on the clock. What are the odds?
@@trevertravis8963 PATS were scored with 35 seconds TDs were scored at 42 and 39 seconds.
Those padded gloves looks mighty magnetic.
This is such an improbable play.... How did Eli escape that? Also to hurl it into the air with 3 defenders near Tyree. How did it not get picked off? Then Tyree holds it on his damn helmet and doesn't drop it on the way down. Insane play.
Nice to see the magnets are working
Awesome
David Tyree , the pride of Syracuse Football.
Whenever Joe Buck is calling a play, its with the enthusiasm that somebody calls your number at the DMV...
I want to see Joe Buck commentate the apocalypse. "And the world is ending I guess, oh well."
The title of the video made me think that somebody caught a helmet
Tyree don’t have to ever pay for a meal in New York again
in 07 my brother was watching the during the giants and Brady took the feld ln super bowl 50
Joe bucks commentary on this is so inspirational
Nice catch
Tom Brady’s only kryptonite. 2 of the greatest upsets when the giants beat a prime Tom brady twice for a ring. Insane
“Pressure from Thomas off the edge. Eli Manning….stays on his feet airs it out down the field it is….caught by Tyree”. The most unenthusiastic call in a big game in history.
happy bday D. Tyree.
I'm not a hat person, but he makes it work.
The worst call for the greatest moment
that was an insane ctahc
Giants fan so I’m probably bias but to me that’s the biggest and most clutch play in SB history. And overall the best SB in history.
“it is caught by tyree 😐”
I went crazy after he caught that
To this day this is still known by New Englanders as “The Bullsh*t Catch🤦🏽♂️”
