(type that into amazon) for the canvas part of the bag and apply a small amount to a towel/wipe all over to get that shine! Works really well.. Also, I have left mine in the sun and it has darkened a bit on the outside to take that "sharpness" away. Going to keep doing it for the rest of summer here in California.
I have taken leather softener for the straps and side straps it HAS softened them up/a lot more flexible. I believe the straps are a type of vachetta leather, just a really cheap version.
