Sealing in the small jars is a huge advantage to the chamber style. I'm glad you showed that👍😊
That's a huge plus for sure Bobbi. Thanks for checking it out!
I do pint, quart, and reuse commercial jars (if it has a pop top) for sealing dry goods. Just put the lids on loosely (with the rings if using mason jars) and lay the jars on their side. Cereal, grains, dry beans, rice, pasta, coffee, tea, flour, sugar, cookies, chocolate chips, just to name several things. Pulls a very hard vacuum. Much more than a FoodSaver machine. In fact, some of the lids on the commercial jars are sucked down so hard, I can't unscrew the lid and must resort to punching a hole in the lid to loosen it.
Very thorough review Rus!! I love how you showed canning that rub!!! I plan to do that with my rubs and sauces!!! I have been very happy with everything that I have gotten from Vevor!!!
Thanks Jeff! Same here Jeff! I have not been disappointed with any of the Vevor products. Thanks for checking it out Jeff, and you did a fantastic review as always!
It won’t get the clicks but this is the most helpful and perfectly timed video I’ve seen on CZcams in a long time. Been looking long and hard for a half priced used Weston or Vac Master to No avail. Had no idea Vevor existed, and brand new these are even cheaper than those used models! Thank you so much for doing this review! I’ve now looked up several more on CZcams and all are positive. Perfect timing for me with moose season a month away. Appreciate you, my friend!
Glad it helped you out!
Just ordered mine .....Great Presentation as always Rus .....been a big fan of yours for years
Thanks Rus- I bought one, game changer. Made some pickles quick work, compressed some watermelon infused with tequila, infused some tequila with jalapeno killer. That sucker does have a little weight to it though..
Nice Vac Rus great demo Thank You
Thanks for watching Lance!
Thank you for the info. Been wanting a chamber vac for years. This is the one I been looking at for the last week. Affordable. Thank you again.
You're welcome. It's hard to live without a chamber vac once you have one. I love the two I have.
Look into vacuum chamber spacers. They cut the volume of the chamber so that you don't need to run the pump as long. The need to be solid spacers made from something like like HDPE . When you are doing a lot of bags it really helps to cut the total time.
I've got them with my VacMaster
That's pretty cool, Rus! I really like how it doesn't suck up any liquid!👍
Thanks for checking it out Kevin!
very nice product along with big savings on cost. very useful to have around the home.
Oh for sure. I use a chamber vac weekly. Just used it yesterday.
thank you for this video my Vacmaster chamber sealer just went tits up and I had to replace it with a cheaper external sealer because I did not want to spend $1000+ on a new chamber sealer. I will have to look into the Vevor brand for sure
Your welcome Joe. Vacmaster normally sends a few replacement parts when they send the units to you. Mine is 6 years old and I just recently changed out the 3M sealing tape across the sealing bar because the two electrodes were exposed on the old tape. Still running strong, but you really can't beat this Vevor brand in cost when it comes to chamber vacs.
Love that thing. I am sick of having to buy these cheap sealers every few months. Great video, Rus!
They are really nice to have Mike. I use mine all the time.
Good info rus thanks
Thanks for watching Zach!
i have one of these and one of there food warmers. love their products so far
I own at least 5 different Vevor products and they are all holding up very well. Just can't beat the savings!
Which model
Of food warmer?
Awesome unit and review Rus - Jeff (Ricer @ Dead Broke BBQ) just reviewed the same unit today - It seems like a winner from a price/performance point of view. Thanks. - Cheers!
Thanks for checking our videos out Garry! Cheers!
Thanks
Welcome
Looks pretty cool Rus. That Vevor has some awesome products that seem priced right. Nice work.
I love a chamber vac and it would surprise you just how often I use them. I've yet to have any issues with Vevor products. Priced right for sure Tommy! Thanks for stopping by!
Good video Rus some day ( soon I hope ) I am gonna get one of these. ! THANK you Frank from montana......
Thanks Frank! Once you get use to using one, you will find yourself using it all the time. Very handy
Great review on this Chamber vac. Rus! Vevor makes good products. I have a two-pan Vevor cooking and warming tray and it works great for catering. Chef John & Rebecca
Thanks, I appreciate you stopping by and watching!
GREAT REVIEW RUS , LOOKS LIKE YOU AND JEFF ARE GETTING SOME COOL STUFF THESE DAYS
Thanks! We both decided to review the Vevor chamber vac and both got one after requesting to do review videos, so we both agreed to release the videos at the same time.
Retort bags? With it seal them?
Very nice machine Rus, I want one!
I use a vacuum sealer a lot. So handy for so many things.
Thats a neat machine Rus! Great review. Cheers 🍻
Thanks, I appreciate it! Cheers!
Thanks for sharing this video have a joyful and heavenly good day
Thank you! You too!
Thanks for doing the measurements - Vevor's Q&A said jars couldn't be sealed so I lost faith in their specs. Needing at least 65mm in height on the outer of the dome to seal 3d printer spools, you've given me faith that their published spec of 70mm (2.76") is accurate.
How long would a pound of meat last after this in a freezer
Nice review. Very informative. How about 16 ounces mason jars? Can it handle them?
As long as there is clearance for the lid to close, it can pull a deep vacuum on anything.
You can vac the canning jars with the rings then remove afterwards
You can, but don't put the rings on so tight that a vacuum can't happen. I prefer the way I show, then I'll put the rings on, but if you put them on loosely you can do that.
@@SmokyRibsBBQit's more about making sure the lid is on square. They don't need to stay on after either. I make vacuum pickles this way. Not sure if you've done a video on that or not. They turn out awesome. Thanks for your content.
just came from Dead Broke. nice reviews. nice seeing two reviews
Yeah I watched Jeff's earlier. Great review! Thanks for checking my review out as well. Much appreciated!
@@SmokyRibsBBQ Whats the largest glass jar can you put inside? height wise?
A pint jar works good. Quart is too tall. The jars I used in the video are 1/2 pints
@@nickgibb4687 - I lay quart jars on their side and just loosely tighten using the rings to hold the lid in place.
At timestamp 1:20, you stated, "If you just need to seal a bag, you can bring that to zero and it will just seal". I have one of these and that is incorrect. The sealing bar clamps down to the heat strip using the vacuum present in the chamber. If there is no vacuum, the sealing bar will not come down. Lacking any included instructions, I believe the vacuum needs to be in the yellow range on the gauge to provide enough vacuum for a dependable seal.
You are correct and I misspoke. The time I have sealed bags without a hard vacuum, I set it at its lowest setting which is 6 seconds on a Vacmaster chamber vac. It won't go any lower than that. Not sure what the minimum seconds is on this Vevor. I haven't had to do that yet with this machine. That is barely any vacuum on the bag, but it does seal. I don't have to do that often because I also have a impulse sealer for just sealing the bags, such as mylar bags, but will work on chamber vac bags as well.
does normal clear plastic bags work with this? Or does it only work with a specific type of plastic bag?
It uses chamber vac bags. They are clear and made specifically for chamber vacs and they are also cheaper in price than the foodsaver type of bags. I buy mine from Amazon
You gave the width and length measurements, but what about the height inside? Can it fit taller jars than your 1/2 pint jars? I’m interested in its ability to help speed along the process of extracts. Apparently you can use an Instant Pot pressure cooker to make vanilla extract faster, but I feel like the heat would destroy some of the flavor compounds, so it would be great to know if this could do the same thing without heat. I’m curious about the new Anova Chamber Vac. It looks more like a kitchen appliance than an industrial machine like these, so it’s something that would look at home in a kitchen. It has automatic modes as well for extracts, pickles, etc.
Any chamber vac machine will pull enough microns of vacuum to extract flavors, bond flavors, regardless if you are marinating a steak, or extracting vanilla from the vanilla bean, or forcing vinegar into pickled products. Sounds more like a marketing angle from Anova to me.
@@SmokyRibsBBQ You’re right, I’m sure the settings on the Anova are for marketing and any machine can do the same, they are just presets . Can you put taller jars in your machine or does it only accommodate the 1/2 pint ones? Thanks so much.
@nterroso2472 I have put 1 pint in my Vacmaster with no problem. The Vevor is over at my sons house for him to use so I can't check it, but I'm sure a pint jar will fit no problem. I own a freeze drier and it can double as a chamber vac when I need to pull a vacuum on larger jars.
Neat machine.. mines not as liquid friendly lol..i need to show this to the wife..the mason jar technique
No, the regular vacuum sealers can't touch this. Thanks for checking it out
Interesting
Thanks for watching!
Does it do qt and half gallon mason jars?
Not standing up. Not enough clearance, but depending on what you put in the jars, you could do them laying on their side.
Hey Rus just wondering how long you've had the vevor and have you had any problems with it?
Around 3 months. No problems
I've had mine over a year now and it gets used a lot. Freezer is full. I had to stop.
Did you already try vacuum sealing meatballs? How’s the end product? Is the meatball got squished?
Not if you freeze the balls for a few hours first. True with anything that can squish flat.
We vacuum sealed room temp fresh meat balls without a problem on this machine.
Can you tell me how much oil it takes for an oil change? I ordered a quart. Hopefully I can get a few changes out of that. We do about a thousand pounds of sausage a year so I guess 3 or 4 oil changes.
I don't know the exact amount, but there is a fill line to go by. After the first oil change you will know how much it holds for future reference. I'm sure 1 quart will be more than you need.
@@SmokyRibsBBQ Thanks. I ordered one yesterday so I will know soon. I've been using a food saver for years so I'm really looking forward to it. I looked at the VAC masters for a long time but the price kept me from buying. I hope this one lasts at half the price.
Are you able to do 2 bags side by side? We use a lot of 6 by 10. I'm wondering if we can do 2(6 by 10) at a time.
Possibly, if the 6" side is the open side
Yes! I do two 6" x 10" bags as well as three 4" x 6" bags at one time. The heat strip is about 12.4 " wide. I bought this machine specifically to seal 12" wide (1 gallon) Mylar bags.
Looks big enough for a whole, 4-5#, chicken. Have y'all tried?
Thank you!
Haven't done a whole chicken but it will do that easily
Where are the bags from? could you seal Pizza?
I get my chamber vac bags from Amazon. You can vacuum seal anything you want as long as it fits in the bags
Can you use mylar bags
Yes you can
does this one vacuum seal frayed food?
It will vacuum seal anything you put in it. Just don't put food in while it's hot
awesome video Rus. That price is more like it lol
You got that right! Thanks for watching!
What is the long term reliability with this brand? Just last night one of my son's friends was over and he said his dad just bought a vevor commercial vac sealer and it caught on fire the first time they used it.
I couldn't tell you because I haven't had it that long, but I can tell you it hasn't caught on fire and it's working just fine.
I'm very curious to know exactly what caught on fire. I've had mine for over a year and use it a lot.
That's a pretty cool little machine. I wanna put small animals in it😂
LOL Randy! They may want to put a warning label on the machine "Don't Vacuum Small Animals" hahaha
Have they stopped producing these? Can't find stock of this anywhere. Is it possible that it's not robust, so they stopped selling?
What are you talking about? Just click the link below the video and it will take you straight to the product. I just looked and they are in stock.
@@SmokyRibsBBQ I tried again but ain't working for me, unless it's because I'm from the UK.
@@MK-fb1ru Could be the problem
@@SmokyRibsBBQ would you use this to seal flour? Thank you for replying
@@MK-fb1ru I don't but you certainly could. You can vacuum seal anything that fits in the bags
I have the same unit...
F Y I.... You CAN'T seal a bag unless you set vacuum time to at least 10-15 seconds... WHY? because it uses some of that air to fill the bladder bag beneath the sealing bar to push it UP. No air, no pressure to seal the bag.
It's only 6 seconds on my VacMaster. That is as low as you can set the time on the vacuum and it seals great at that vacuum time. Haven't played around with the Vevor to see if it has a minimum time for best results, but yeah you are correct, pressure has to push the sealing bar upward before it can seal. I personally have no reason to seal a bag without it being under vacuum because I have a impulse sealer for doing that or sealing mylar bags. Looking back at the video, I misspoke about that. You definitely need a minimum vac time to be able to seal a bag, that or get a impulse sealer. Thanks for watching
What's the model number?
Do you have a link I can follow so you get credit for a sale?
The link is in the video description below the video where it says more or show more. It links to this same machine that’s in the video
Just received my unit. It arrived very well packaged. But after I took it out of the box and removed the back plate. There is a large dent on the back. There is a weld on the left hand side that is broken. I have been in contact with the company and have received unsatisfactory responses. They had to have seen these defects what packing. Buyer beware.
Sorry to hear that. Hope you get it sorted out with them.
It didn’t suck all the or out of the liquid filled bag
If it went into a deep vacuum then it removed the air. Doesn’t feel like it because it’s liquid and not solid like meat but it does remove the air.
Are you from Mississippi?
Yep, Gulf Coast
Dang I just bought one from Meat a couple of months ago.☹
Yeah, there are a number of brands out there Gary. Thanks for checking it out.
Im wondering why the seal bar in back and not in front of you ?
I have no idea, but it works great the way it is. Not a big deal
Just paid $351 total
Not bad
If you compare the Vacmaster weight (84lb vs 62lb), and average reviews (83 vs 66) My Vacmaster has been working hard for 15+ years with only oil changes. I do think the price difference is more than justified. Hate when companies send all the creators the same products at the same time for glowing reviews. Buy once cry once.
I have a VacMaster as well. In all honesty, I have no idea how long this Vevor chamber vac will last or hold up, but I can tell you it works just as good as my VacMaster for now. My guess is it will last for many years since the internal parts are basically identical. I guess you are referring to Dead Broke BBQ dropping a video on the same product, the same day and time? Jeff and I decided to drop them together. Had nothing to do with Vevor. I've had mine for close to a month now. We told Vevor what product we wanted to review, it wasn't them asking us to review a chamber vac exclusively , so the "glowing reviews" comment is false. These are our honest opinions, good or bad. I have reviewed a number of Vevor products, and I explicitly asked for certain products that I actually use and need, not what they decide I should review. And I can tell you now that not one product has failed me.
I'm new here and to Vevor. I looked at chamber vacs a couple of years ago. They were definitely too expensive for my liking. My eyes almost popped out of my head when I saw the Vevor price. I went straight to CZcams and found your review! Thank you 😊
I'm rolling the dice on the Vevor! I'm tired of seal a meal vac! Gave you a follow too!
@@dixieland.hey! Do you have a review? I’m thinking about buying one too!

I love it! ❤️
These take up way to much space.
So do stoves, refrigerators, microwaves and most other kitchen appliances, but compared to these other kitchen items, I can hold this chamber vac in my two arms. Sounds like you need a bigger kitchen to me.
Where do you get the bags? Thanks.
Amazon has them
Thanks! @@SmokyRibsBBQ

No need to freeze liquids with a chamber vac
