As reward for pole position, YOU decide when the field starts if you chose so. Start right after the pace car heads to pit lane or wait until the green flag flies. It is your decision, do not apologize for it. People need to learn how to follow proper racing procedures.

I've noticed a similar phenomemon in ACC. Once you're out of bottom split, everyone starts trying too hard. I've seen some absolutely massive lap 1 crashes outside of bottom split. In bottom split, people are more concerned about their ELO/SR so tend to be a little more respectful of each other.
For whatever reason I've found iracing drivers hold brakes far less than any other sim, I have no idea what causes this or why, but it should be an auto week holiday if you're reported for not holding brakes. it's so simple and can avoid so much carnage.
In real life and on the sim, BMW drivers never disappoint 😂
Here I was super happy with my week on the GT4s.. just got load cell pedals got a little more competitive.. got my first win in literally years.. gained a ton of iRating.. and Dave literally posts a pole time a FULL SECOND faster than my PB.. come on 😂
Must say I did think driving standards were dogshit this week.. I think the fact it's a super popular track early in the season, and it's a D class series attracted a lot of inexperienced drivers...

If you had uploaded this on April 1st, I would’ve thought this was a staged video. Are we sure iRacing didn’t accidentally put you in a bottom split? The carnage of this race is unbelievable.
My experience is that often top split has the worse standards. People get a bit of iRating and think they are Max Verstappen!

I tried this combo as I love Sebring. What a sh*tshow. Got taken out from behind from someone who drove through me like I wasn’t there (I must’ve been the straw that broke the camels back as he then got DQd). Got hit by someone that didn’t stand on the brakes and rolled backwards across the track, then caught another spinner as car on left so had nowhere to go. Lost 77 iRating in 2 races. Went back to the MX5s.

Hey Dave, I was in this race starting P7. The entire madness at the start unfolded right in front of me! Some folks behind were already full throttle before the green.... I somehow managed to dodge most of it but got wheel damage from a car bouncing back from the wall which effed my pace, but it was my 10th EVER race start on iRacing and honestly I did not expect to see you so soon on the server haha! I won 2 races in split 2 after this but I still need to find a few tenths to catch you!
Unlucky to get caught up mate. I know it's a sprint but there are several places to overtake per lap here so there's no great rush. 🫤

What do you mean?? :D GT4 has been a blast for me this week. 2 pole positions, my first fastest lap in a race on iRacing and a couple of podiums.
Experienced nearly the same race, but I was in the midfield and got collected at the start.
I've enjoyed the Aston Martin around here this week.

I mean, it was top split but only a 2700 SOF. Lots of room for chaos with those 2k drivers..
Based on my race today, the bottom split was no better.
Did the Falken Tire Challenge a couple of times last night in the LMP3. Qualified pole 3 of 4 times died 4 out of 4 times T1 and they all looked like your T1 lol
IMO that guy who took the lead early on and spun at the end of lap 1 kind of had that coming. He gave you a bump and run into T1 to put you off the apex and take the lead. Seemed dirty to me, so I was glad he ate the barrier. Sucks for the rest of the field though.
Top split is always hilarious to watch. They all think they are world class professional drivers

One of the best clips of idiots and brain surgeons I’ve watched! I’d say keep it coming, but I hope it doesn’t continue like THAT!
I have a couple of ideas for some new metrics that might be used to help with the driving standards. First, a Driver Health metric. This would use the damage model to also produce a metric on the injury to the driver, up to and including death. The second would add a money metric to the damage model to give a repair estimate. These metrics would be fun and interesting as they are things that real drivers need to care about. They might also be used, at some point, to segregate driver types into their own races. A harder extension would be to also track the same metrics for the other cars involved in incidents with the driver. This would be another way to rate drivers in addition to the safety rating and give a 'danger' rating.
Protest the whole lobby.
It seems to be a massive overconfident skill issue around 2.5-30k drivers. They think they are better than this, but the reality is harsh 😂

Yeah this is why I just race and don’t care about my A3.22 FR and A2.5 SC (both around 1300 iR) accounts. The racing is bad everywhere.
My at least I’m losing a ton of iR in the prototypes where competition is insanely good, not just whatever the flavor of the week GT car is
Sebring really did bring the idiots to GT4 this week I had similar experiences be it in a GT4 or the LMP3 spinning on the warmup lap anyone check, not holding the brake after spinning check, dive bombs from 8 miles back yeah you got it check

This is just opinion
All gt car like GT3 / GT4 are not designed for Sprint race
They are heavy large and sometimes the bop is ok for specific car than others
This series should be at least A licence and 40 / 45 minutes race
So fixed means you can't make any changes to the car's setup?

I did gr4 last night was worse race I ever had, in Ferrari I get top 5 every race at Sebring , gr4 I lost alit of points

I'm going to say it again just because it is top split doesn't mean it is going to be good racing. If anything from what I have seen and from what I sore when I was on iracing top split had some of the badest racing I ever sore. The best racing I ever had was actually in the lower splits and the best enduro I ever did was a bottom split race
Hey Dave. Just a thought, but I’d be really nice if one of the streamers everyone watch could make a video on what to do when you go off track and how to re-enter the track safely. How to look at relatives and all that. I don’t know.. just a thought to help out the. New comers to iRacing.

always say this - just cause folk are quick, doesn't mean they are safe/clever drivers. Lot of clowns in this one
