  • These uniquely American blades have gained almost legend-like status for their role on the American frontier. Made famous by James "Jim" Bowie and his famous Sandbar Fight, Bowie knives became immensely popular and saw a wide variety of styles, from the down & dirty to the highly ornate.
"The knife that cuts twice" has cemented its place in American history, and collectors continue to clamor for the Bowie knife - a blade which set a new standard of design and provides a fine canvas for generation after generation of bladesmiths to hone their art.

When it comes to vintage cutlery from GB , the 2 largest & competing hubs , were the London cutler's & as you mentioned the Sheffield cutler's !!! But our own fledgling cutlery industry was quick to jump on board with production of these over sized hunt , camp , self-defense belt knives !!! Many of which were not fancy Dan display knives , for show & tell at the local Tavern !!!

Proud bit of local history unfortunately the blade industry barely exists in sheffield but their is still a bit of steal industry in the city

Sheffield was the 19th century version of gas station knives from Pakistan

They were the cutlery capital of the world. Unlike Pakistan that produces garbage. The English knives were of the highest quality and craftmanship still mostly unmatched today, even with modern machinery, So NO I don't agree with your comment.

Sheffield produced the finest steel in the world in the 19th century.
To compare Sheffield steel to modern-day Pakistani steel is ridiculous.

Are you a jealous person who claims to be American without any tribe ancestors?

    You guys talk too much!
Is it story time or are you going to show what for auction?
Every video just drags on with you guys only showing the items a second and a long story time that makes up most of the video!
    Annoying!
