They seem pretty sure of themselves considering they have no idea where it will land and the strength of it after hitting those waters.
Not an exact science...yet. Pretty close though. Your call on whether you want to take their advice or not. Good luck.
Yah dont listen to them. Its much better to stare at the sun for 10 mins and feel the wind and than make your own decision on where the hurricane will hit.
@@ThatGuy-tg7uj 😁
I would not be surprised if this becomes a 4-5... The NOAA notoriously underestimates strength. The gulf waters are so hot right now. I live on Indian Rocks Beach. The Tampa Bay has been far too lucky.
I agree. I wouldn't be surprised if it makes Cat 4 by landfall...
Usually loses power once it gets over land. However, if there is a front or some kind of pressure that keeps it from moving forward we could be seeing major flooding as we did with previous storms that stalled over Florida. If anyone lives in flood zones I would strongly advise that you have a plan take shelter elsewhere. Staying in these flood areas is not smart. Emergency response crews will not be able to get to you until after the storm has passed/things have settled down. As always, your life/those of your families is in your hands.Choose wisely. Take care!
It’s funny how the NHC never predicts a major hurricane until they’re fairly certain it will be major. I’ve lived in Florida only 25 years and I’ve gotten really cynical about these things. Given the water temperatures…
Next it will become a major hurricane 36 hours before landfall… betcha!
Cat 4-5
Yep never fails lol
Totally agree they should have some foresight but if they make a mistake about the severity on the high side they will lose their job so they always underestimate how bad it could be
I watched this tropical depression for a while already and you could see it starting to slow and organize about 48 hours ago and as soon as it started moving south again all bets were off that southern movement gave it all the time it needed to make this a major event in Hurricane history of the gulf coast Tampa hasn’t had a direct hit in over 50 years now it’s in the bullseye and if idalia slows more than expected it could veer further to the east hitting south Florida
Find weatherman plus on here he stated this for more than a week
Great they were saying yesterday it would be a cat 1 and hit on Tuesday. Now a cat 3 and who knows if that's accurate.
Some think this could be a 4/5 due to hotter water .. so yeah probably worse than they think due to that
@@Fusion_4000 The cone does a decent job of showing the uncertainty of the path but does nothing for the uncertainty of wind speeds. Would be more helpful to include the potential range of wind speeds.
Somewhere there is a bookie taking bets. 😉😆🤑
Wooo very good news
Be safe and smart y’all! We got this
Oh goodie. Another excuse for instant inflated gas prices in the rest of the country.
how exactly will this be different from Ian in that it hits the West Coast? Where is Fort Myers....?
Lol he doesn’t know what he’s talking about
This could spell trouble for us on the west coast
Meh
Be safe, fellow floridians!
So sorry. 😊
CZcams is saying I left a bad comment and I have no idea what it was🤔🤔
@@Fusion_4000 yes!! Me too I was shocked.
Hello. Be safe everybody 🙏 ❤️
Hunker Down!!
go buy some hurricane Snacks..... seriously be safe!
desantis remember don't ask for federal disaster dollars because that would be socialism and woke😂
Let me guess every time socialism was used and it failed it wasn't real socialism? But this time it will be different..
Pres Biden already on it.
"Today, President Joseph R. Biden, Jr. declared that an emergency exists in the State of Florida and ordered Federal assistance to supplement State, tribal, and local response efforts due to the emergency conditions resulting from Tropical Storm Idalia beginning on August 27, 2023, and continuing.
The President’s action authorizes the Department of Homeland Security, Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), to coordinate all disaster relief efforts which have the purpose of alleviating the hardship and suffering caused by the emergency on the local population, and to provide appropriate assistance for required emergency measures, authorized under Title V of the Stafford Act, to save lives and to protect property and public health and safety, and to lessen or avert the threat of a catastrophe in the counties of Alachua, Bay, Calhoun, Charlotte, Citrus, Columbia, DeSoto, Dixie, Franklin, Gadsden, Gilchrist, Gulf, Hamilton, Hardee, Hernando, Hillsborough, Jefferson, Lafayette, Lee, Leon, Levy, Liberty, Madison, Manatee, Marion, Pasco, Pinellas, Polk, Sarasota, Sumter, Suwannee, Taylor, and Wakulla.
Specifically, FEMA is authorized to identify, mobilize, and provide at its discretion, equipment and resources necessary to alleviate the impacts of the emergency. Emergency protective measures (Category B), including direct Federal assistance, under the Public Assistance program will be provided at 75 percent Federal funding.
Mr. Brett H. Howard of FEMA has been appointed to coordinate Federal recovery operations in the affected areas."

Will desantis care about florida or only care about his failing campaign for president??
Bruh what desantis supposed to do stand in front of the storm and hold it back? Lol
Should’ve been recalled years ago.
Please send joe to stand in front and stop the hurricane. There libtard is that better now. Lol
You need to get a freaking life. No one is worried about him, except for you. It’s pathetic! Go to work already and stfu!

What country is Governor DeSantis visiting this week? "Leave your message at the sound of the tone."
Probably Ohio where he now lives
I bet all those people who moved into Fl. [the devils den] of Florida are wondering if they made the tight choice by now!
Put On those commie-red; caps, that'll keep you safe. 😅
Just moved here from NY. Kinda excited about it
Meh, I’m excited too. Maybe not so much if the eye wall was coming straight at me. But Florida is such a long state that during any given hurricane 95% of people in the state will not even see hurricane strength conditions.
Bring it!!!!🌴
He’ll close his shutters, then fly out to his next sputtersing rally.
He's the governor. He can have himself/family evacuated at a moments notice. Rest of the state, not so fortunate. Poel have time now though. Would not want to wait until this thing is on top of us to try to leave. Highways will be packed with people trying to leave. Would be a disaster. Take care!
This hurricane is Woke. Trying to destroy our kids.😮
Hurricanes aren't funny but that was!
God willing ...it will hit Mir A Lago in Palm Beach and destroy New Reich Trump headquarters..
who else likes cinnamon toast crunch for a midnight snack or breakfast?
