Sir Pineapple The fact that you gain meter for doing it, it gains slightly more speed after the throw until it hits the wall, and it can be used to counter ball parries is no lie. Plus high level players can easily use it for mix ups.

I am playing since the release of Lethal League, I have seen everything that LL was going trough. In the end, everything turned out worse than it could be.
Really enjoying the fact Sonata was given 3 jumps since everyone gets double jumps now. It still makes her really good for getting high balls and just dominating the air, as well as giving us the best show of Sonata mains.
The gameplay adjustments make this look like one of the best games ever made from a mechanical point of view. Like the quake 3 of 2D sports action games

Just to note that as well as the ball does more damage when at increased speed, when the health bar starts blinking, that indicates that you'll die regardless of how much health you have. Great game design if you ask me :)

I always liked to bait impatient enemies to run into the ball when it's my turn to make an ace, but the life bars are probably a good idea, yes.

@@Slimecade In the original flash game prototype, there wasn't even a ball tagging feature. If the ball hit you at all, stock lost.

@@Slimecade well they improved the gameplay. It's not necessarily a one hit K.O. now (if you enable the HP system thing)

Man I was skeptical about everything; 3D models, throwing, HP bars... everything. I'm so sold now. I suppose I never should've doubted this team, but it's so rare to see a sequel for such a fresh competitive game like LL to keep the sharpness and spirit of the original. Good shit. Consider my $20 yours already.

I’ve been on the fence for this game for a while. Absolutely love jet grind radio and jet set radio future, hover and those stylistic type of games. I think I might just take the plunge and get this for the switch looks really fun and competitive.!

Equally matched opponents. Fuckin amazing tricks, I bet that the feel of the ball, hitting and bunting is better. Something about that double jump makes things that much more easier.

Double jumps
Hope there are platforms or barriers at some point otherwise the gameplay won't be different despite playing in another stage
The dimension of the rectangle (aspect ration and total size) makes a big difference. Some characters ball angles will loop on individual stages or form faster/slower changing patterns on others. Some characters do better in a smaller/shorter stage some better in a larger/taller.
If you want different game play you'll have to swap to strikers, lethal volley, turn on powerups or change the ball type.
What's that yellow bar at the top of each character
An HP bar. Instead of being knocked out immediately when you touch a ball that isn't tagged with your color like in the previous game, the ball will take some of your health away instead. The amount of damage you take is based on the current speed of the ball. When the HP bar is flashing, it means you will be knocked out the next time you get hit.
The ball still can be a one-hit KO regardless of how much health you have after surpassing a certain speed. I think I've seen around the 200 mark it does that from other videos, but I'm not entirely sure what is the precise number.

how does catching the ball work??
Press a button to catch, then you immediately throw either straight forward or straight down. It beats parry.
BixHD When the ball is in front of your character you can grab the ball and throw it. This only works when the ball is in front of you and in grab range. This is easier at lower speeds or when the ball is going straight up or down, and trickier at more higher speeds or when the ball is going at different angles
When the ball is grabbed you can throw it either forward or downward and is meant to trick up the opponent. However, grabbing does not speed up the ball and is meant to have the ball move slightly faster than usual until it hits the wall. It does make for a good means of gaining early energy.
Throwing can also be used to parry the blue burst affect around the ball which sends the opponent back when they try to hit it. However, when you grab when this is happening you hijack their ball and throw it back at them which can usually result in a KO at higher speeds. This means that Parries beat Swings, Swings beat Throws, Throws beat Parries.

Game is awesome but I'm really dissapointed because my friend can barely run it with his pc. I expected this, but not to the level of his pc making loud audible noise. Guess I'll have to play solo.

On the one side, I am extremely hyped for Blaze, on the other side, I am sad that one of the first gameplay I see is the playstyle that truly killed Lethal League.
