I'm heading to 51. I had a hysterectomy at 48 and got up to about 150 pounds where I was previously and consistently 130-135. I focused on hormone replacement that did nothing. So, I exercised and maintained where I was at until menopause seemed to plateau. I'm now 131 pounds and attribute my weight loss getting back to normal by conducting a spiritual Fast twice a year (no food, only water and the living word to sustain me for 5 to 7 days), and I have changed my relationship with food. It is very important to change your relationship with food. We all go through relationship changes. It should be no different than a no-good girlfriend or boyfriend that you have to walk away from... apply that same analogy to food, and you likely won't need the new "crack" it is becoming. Keep your money in your pocket. And, take B12 for energy. If you have other issues, thyroid, etc. Seek a doctor!

I totally agree with changing your food habits. I also have experienced that you can do ALL of the right things and still not lose weight.. Yes there are some who are using this drug as a quick fix but there are also some who truly need it to assist with their weightloss. As with life.. there is no cookie cutter way to get to your desired outcome and everyones journey is different. Best of luck on your journey and congratulations on your weight loss!

@shalethajoe4544 Absolutely, a person can do it all, and the weight goes nowhere, where there is no other choice but to try alternative methods. Especially when it causes second and third order health problems. We all need to figure out what works for us and works in a healthy way. My children and mother eat different than me. They carry more weight than I do. We all have to reevaluate our relationship with food, not only because of possible weight gain but other health issues. I suppose at some point, our digestive tract returns to that of when we were babies. Certainly, there are foods I just cannot eat anymore. Thank you, and continued success on your weight loss journey, too.

Thank you for sharing your story! My story is the same as yours, beautiful lady. I’m only on week 1, but concerned it works a little TOO well! I’m struggling to eat more than 600 calories, literally forcing myself because I don’t want to be vitamin deficient or set unrealistic expectations. I’ve lost 5lbs in 5 days (water, surely) but glad to see it slowing down…idk, I already decided not to up the dose if the appetite suppression is the same. I’d like to be able to wean off one day and not eat 3x as much and gain it all back in a month, lol. I agree about the special occasions, too, eating is a joy.
It also is showing me you need to have a healthy mindset & relationship with your body to take this drug, because the consistent weight loss can be addictive. I have like 40lbs to lose but gonna re-evaluate as it goes…

You bought up a great point.. you absolutely can get addicted to watching that scale go downward.. My initial goal was 135... then it moved to 130... then 125... but when I saw that 123 i was SHOCKED! and to be honest.. i loved the way my body looked at 130 and I want to get back there but I am just in fear of seeing the scale increase.. It is truly a mind thing.
      Best of love love!

I got on 10mg exactly two weeks ago, today I will be taking my third shot. Unfortunately, right now I feel like it's doing nothing and haven't lost anything. Very disappointing. How long did it take for you to start eating less and how many mg did you inject?

I really did not feel the cravings come back until around month 3 of being off. I just continue to do portion control and I also take a apple cider vinegar supplements to decrease my appetite.. I am doing it the natural way and losing weight continuously. Walking is my best friend and it works. Eating for health does it too. Taking medication to lose weight is a cop out to me. Changing your body to lose quickly will catch up with you as your body ages. Most don’t tell that side of the story. There is no magic to losing weight. It just isn’t. Any type of medication for weight loss is not good for the body or one’s self esteem. Its a facade.

Ozempic is for diabetic patients. I was given semaglutide which is just an off brand of Ozempi/Wegovy and it is approved by the FDA for weightloss. You will hear all of these names interchangeably because they are basically the same thing.. It's like saying tylenol vs advil.
