Ok, after trying to remove the plastic covers on the back of the controller by hand, I can say with confidence that this guy has got some inhuman strength in his fingers! And I'm an archaeologist, so I do a lot of hard work with my hands!
lol we just get familiar with them since 2013 when the Xbox One launched, our fingers are muscular (just kidding)

Ordered the circuit board one,and it looked really noice. Only problem i had was getting the side rails off, but i was able to pry it off with a screwdriver. All and all, amazing product!

The face plate screw holes were slightly too small for the screws they provided, and the originals, which made securing it in place very difficult. After reassembling it is slightly loose in the bottom left corner... Nothing MAJOR but still you would think the screws would fit the holes since they provided both the faceplate and the screws together.
Great guide but removing the bottom handles is hard and I’m still working on it any tips without stabbing with a knife?

Does anyone have any tips on getting the 2 side panels off? I’m struggling and nervous not to break them.
Some of them are just really difficult to take off. Use a prying tool and with enough force and patient, they will come off finanlly.
I have no idea why, but I cannot find anywhere on the internet the answer to this question. Will a regular Xbox One shell or faceplate fit on an Xbox One S controller, or do I have to get a One S faceplate?

My Halo addition controller is busted. Would you recommend buying a new one or just switching out all the "Halo" bits to another controller?
We suggest you keep the halo because it's a special edition :)

Is it the same exact process for the Xbox Series X/S controllers? I just have the original Xbox one, but the face plate that I want from you guys only seems to be available for the new controllers. My original controller has a dead zone issue so I don’t mind upgrading to the new controller even though I’m too broke for the new console lol. Also, are “soft touch” face plates any different than the grip that comes on standard special addition controllers you buy from Microsoft?

Do these scratch or ever sketch off? Like does the paint come off, cause I’m definitely not a sweat on Xbox games and controllers XD
One of the customer reviews on Amazon UK said the paint peeled off after a short while. Maybe they were just unlucky, who knows.

There is a label in the battery area, peel it off and you will see the screw
my controller doesn't have a screw in the back but I have the right controller model so I don't know what to do?
You have to tear off the sticker in the battery tray, and then you will see it.

Did anyone else have a problem with the screws? It feels like the include tool was slightly too big and it's taking forever to remove them.
Nah I didn’t i believe it’s a t8 screw you get which is the right one, it just took me a bit to remove the screws and put them back in 😂

what do you mean exactly? the xbox one s controller comes with a 3.5mm headphone jack

there are 3 version of xbox one controller (except elite), 1st version doesn't have 3.5mm jack, 2nd version and 3rd version (that we say One S ) are come with 3.5 mm jack. So 1st and 2nd version has the same faceplate, but the 3rd version is not the same as 1st and 2nd version, you can find the difference on the top of the face plate.

After replacing the shell the controller stopped working completely. Does anyone know why this would happen
Only replace the front shell then stop working? Check the "+" and "-" metal plate if they sit in the right place of the battery slot.

The side panels are tricky. Make sure to take it off from the inside out instead of the outside in. Use a guitar pic or the pic they give you with the kit to provide leverage at the top, and then make your way down the side with your fingers to make an equal gap all the way down and it will then pop right off.
Still confused
This is cheaper than "special edition" controllers, it's annoying that Microsoft charge extra for them.
