Lakers @ Grizzlies, March 22, 2007 | After dropping a combined 115 points the previous two games, Kobe looks to become the first player since Michael Jordan in 1986-87 to score at least 50 points in three consecutive games. Kobe not only tops 50 once again, but he also records his 4th career 60+ point game, and second in three games.

Kobe don't need MVPs, because he has *4 40ppg month avgs* only player since Wilt Chamberlain to do it *multiple times* 🤷‍♂️ (Wilt 11 times, Kobe 4 times, Baylor 1 time, Harden 1 time)
      *Feb 03 - 40.6ppg* (58.4 TS%)
      *Jan 06 - 43.4ppg* (61.1 TS%)
      *Apr 06 - 41.6ppg* (62.1 TS%)
      *Mar 07 - 40.4ppg* (57.5 TS%)
I can name 10 players with multiple mvps, but only *name 2 players who has multiple 40ppg month avgs in NBA HISTORY* 🤷‍♂️ more *rarer* than any *mvp award*

+amunrahll Simply not true. Lebron led Cleveland to the best record in the NBA back to back years in 09' and 10' before going to Miami. The year he left, that same Cleveland team minus him had the worst record in the league. Literally Lebron made the difference between being the best and being the worst. Then he spent 4 years in Miami and took that team to the finals every year while Cleveland was in the lottery every year. As soon as Lebron went back to Cleveland, they were back in the finals every year. Kobe doesn't make that kind of impact. When Shaq left the Lakers in 04', they went from 56 wins to 34 wins. Kobe missed a lot of time that year with injury but the team did not do any better when he was in the line-up. The following year, they were 45-37. Still not very good and they lost in the first round despite having Lamar Odom and some other decent talent. The Lakers didn't become a real contender again until they had Gasol and Bynum. In other words, Kobe did not win when the team wasn't stacked.

From 2005-2007 Kobe was at his absolute peak as an overall basketball player. It should come as no surprise that during this stretch he scored 62 in 3 quarters, had 4 straight 50+ point games, a 65 point game and of course the 81. Unfortunately during this stretch his 2nd best teammate was a highly talented but enigmatic, and at times inconsistent Lamer Odom. To me Kobe was on the down side of his prime when the Lakers won back 2 back championships in 09 and 10. Imagine this or 2006 version of Kobe on those teams.

Who was playing for the Lakers in 2006? In 2012 Lebron had Mike Miller, Dwyane Wade, Shane, Chris Bosh enough said right there alone. All Kobe had that year in 2006 IN THE WEST was Lamar Odom, Luke Walton, and Andrew Bynum...who else Kwame Brown, Ronny Turiaf, Brian Cook?? The hell are you talking about comparing those two playoff years. Also Kobe also won a Gold medal. Lebron is great but in his prime vs Kobe I'm taking Kobe cause I know he can make those free throws and make that big shot. Lebron is a different story one night he'll make those big time tough clutch shots, next night he'll miss big time free throws and shots. Also he's never been a great 3 point shooter. Neither has Kobe to be fair

+dyodoublej you lied about kobes 2006 playoff stats. He averaged 28 ppg on 50% shooting... And don't compare lebron, whos had a cake walk in the east for most of his career. I'll give you one simple example. Prime wade and prime lebron are both on the same level with kobe so so theres virtually two superstars on the same level as kobe on one team plus Bosh = pau gasol. Lamar odom =? Bynum nonexistant cause of injuries. The west is greater the east yet kobe still had the same success as lebron, winning two championships. Kobe carried lesser talent in a harder conference than lebron. Kobe faced more 50 win teams in his 3 final appearances from 08-10 than lebrons 5 straight final apperances lmao. 2012 lebron had a superstar team around him in a weak conference, made it to the finals while kobe faced the second winningest team in the nba in the first round.

The differenced between your comparisons and the problem with them is Kobe had a horrible below average team that year and Lebron and 3 point shooters post players and great defenders. OF COURSE Kobe doesn't hit all of his clutch shots but he has made some huge ones in his career. Same with Lebron. Footwork, difficult shots, 3pt, mid range, post. He has one of the purest if not the purest jumper I’ve ever seen. His offensive catalog is rivaled by no one. And he’s a great defender as well. Biggest regret not seeing my favorite player play in person. And now won’t see a Hall of fame speech. Rip Kobe and the rest of the people who passed away.

How in the wide, wide world of sports, did this man only garner ONE MVP AWARD?
    The NBA should be ashamed!

One of the MVPs Nash got should have went to Kobe.

07, 08, 09, 10, and 11 were Kobe MVP years. If they didn't block the CP3 trade 13 would have been another one....if the NBA and media weren't corrupt.
