The great thing about stan is he actually sounds like what you hear now. No autotune required. He’s severely and criminally underrated on the global scale. He should have Grammys by the dozen.
Not a single lie told. You are 100% correct.
You could not have said it any better or more accurate…Stan walker is truely something else and so deserves to be recognised globally! He has a god given gift that should be shared with the world!
He’s our gem ❤
He's our diamond/titanium unbreakable and beautiful
When I was living in NZ in '96, I'd go to the gym at Mount Albert, and these big Maori boys would be sitting on the weight benches singing harmonies like this.
Yes!!!!!
Guitar. Drums! Choir! From the church!
Probably from Mags.
Stan is just so so amazing, as an Aussie we are so proud of our brothers and sisters over the water in New Zealand, we love to claim them as our own.
I know Stan’s family and a lot of them live on the Gold Coast :)
@@Josh-is8it oh me too
especially when they are Australian born haha, easy to claim them when they have never been elsewhere ;)
We do the same with great aussie artist i think in a way it shows how close our country's are ANZAC
@@takiaritukaki6716 genuine question which Australian Artist are New Zealanders claiming?
They're singing in English and Maori. Maori is one the official languages of New Zealand. I love your appreciation of everything
Māori is the offical language of New Zealand and sign language. English is just a common language. Nga mihi
@@tylahuia5894there are 3 official languages of New Zealand English is one of them 🤙🏻
Stan is Maori
He won Australian Idol a few years back
Love this version and cover,
Love Stan's voice, Maori's are known for great voices,
It's very rare that a Maori can't sing
I'm Aussie, my Mums from NZ and I grew up listerning to Maori songs and artist
I love that he sings in his native tongue adds so much integrity to his rendition! 💕🔥💕
Just a heads up, if u come to Australia make sure u know the difference between Australian and New Zealanders. Stan walker and crowded house main man Neil Finn is from New Zealand. Although other band members are Aussie being formed in Melbourne. Neil would be offended to be called Aussie. Be like me calling u Canadian. Lol
He’s probably a bit too awesome to be offended by that.
called a Canadian and America once 😬😬😬😬 they reacted like i stole from them
As a Kiwi, your shock and surprise when he began singing in te reo Maori brought tears to my eyes. It's a beautiful language. Such an important part of the culture here in Aotearoa New Zealand.
Tautoko!
I like how he picked up on the song while the cuzzy was singing it I roto I te reo maori…
🥺 felt that too 🖤
Thank you for playing this by Stan Walker, love the way it is sang in both English & Maori language ❤️
Singing in Te ReoMaori, the language of new Zealand's indigenous people. Stan ought to be an international star by now, his talent is off the chart. Love your reactions, so authentic, and your voice is crazy good too!
Maori language... so beautiful
Stan has such a soulful voice, has had a challenging life. He has come out the other side with family, love and his magnificent voice. I am sure that the Crowded House guys really really dig this two language version.
This is utterly beautiful... Stan has done a beautiful version ... the Maori, lovely... the back up singers ...The Levites?...so gorgeously smooth and complimentary to each other. Love it .
The band are The Levites; the other singers are called The Standard.
Nothing will ever replace the original however this is without a doubt the best cover that I've heard of Don't Dream Its Over.
What a beautiful cover. Stan has overcome many battles, love him ❤️
Beautifully respectful cover…Stan really is a special soul 🙂💕
Not a big Stan Walker fan. But ain't gonna lie this was magic. He leshed it up and took it out for a walk to park. Made it easy
"My fever is on the rise" 😅
Beautiful cover 👌
Stan Walker is from New Zealand, Crowded House lead singer is from New Zealand my uso, Please dont get our New Zealand Music mixed up with Australian Music
Crowded house is a mash up of both countries. Although Neil Finn is a New Zealander, Paul Hester and Nick Seymour are Australian, the band was also formed in Melbourne. But have to acknowledge both Neil and Paul were both former band members from the New Zealand band Split Enz. Fine line, but both Australia and New Zealand can claim them in their own ways
You really are practically an honorary Aussie with all the Aussie (and Kiwi) reactions. I’m so grateful you found our gems. Proud Aussie from Melbourne!
So proud of our Stan in New Zealand. There is a constant good natured banter between Aussies and New Zealanders. But if there was a war we would stand together as cousins as they did in WW 2 on the other side of the world. Stan has been through a lot and fought for his life as he battled surgeries as he and other family members carry a gene that leads to stomach cancer. Toa nui, a great warrior.
Wow, that was amazing. I'm guessing Maori was the language you couldn't identify? Best cover ever...
Hi TSR. Do yourself a favour and listen to Stan and crew do a cover of Tennessee Whisky..... it's fantastic. Can't send links, but just search: Stan Walker, Parson James - Tennessee Whiskey. New Zealand Maori people are most times fantastic musicians. (IMO) Cheers from Downunder.
Some may not know, That Stan is actually recording in Neil Finns studio and he is there. I just watched the doco. Which is on NZ on demand.
Please please please please react to ‘Inside Out’, Stan and his whole crew are amazing in it, and I know you’ll love it! Love from New Zealand, we are so proud of Stan ❤️🙏🏼
So Gooooood!!!!!!!!!🙌🙌🙌
Why are the Polynesian voices so beautiful 🎶
Everything he touches is gold... thanks for doing this one Nick.
Yup lucky he's not sing the Aussie national anthem when at bledisloe cup , next year 😂😂😂
😊❤❤❤You have a lovely voice too," THANK YOU" for you positive reaction to Stan Walker & The Levites version of this beautiful song "Don't Dream It's Over👍❤❤❤
just beautiful. Stan is a magical singer
So pleased this was suggested! Best cover of this song ever. You’ve certainly passed the Aussie test Nick - hope to see on our shores one day!
DO IT NICK!....Get that song out there....You'd sound amazing doing this song... Nick when you turn down the sound on the video feed we can't hear the vocals ...have to turn my sound full blast but then when you talk It's deafening lol. Please don't turn the sound down...Stan was singing in a Maori dialect as he was born in New Zealand. I'm with you Stan made this song something special. He would appreciate the words as he nearly lost his life with stomach cancer and now lives without a stomach. Amazing story.
You see his passion for singing at the end. When he finishes, he us so excited and thankful that he could bless us with his gift. Even after all he had to go through he is still phenomenal. Kia Kaha Stan. You're doing your whanau and your people proud.
I like the way Stan enunciates his consonants
Appreciate all your professional opinions and generous, kind, considerate comments referring to the exceptional, professional skill and performance excellence executed by Stan Walker and the Laminites backup singers and the solo guitarist. Pure class by all. I
Stan is New Zealand Maori, Neil Finn (Crowded House) is also a New Zealander as are The Levites. Always enjoy your reviews, following from New Zealand.
Stan is from nz ❤ he was raised in Australia, he came home and sings alot of Maori waiata and he's proud to be doing it xx my favorite musician off all time ❤
This is a voice of a man that has seen a lot of pain. So much emotion in there. Amazing.
Reliving my teenage years through your first time reactions, only confirms how blessed I was. 💖💖Sydney, Australia 👋
Awesome song! Great version ❤️
Neil Finn and Stan both Kiwis fm NZ
That was so beautiful thank you for that reaction
Stan Walker is Maori, native New Zealander. I believe that's the language he's singing in. I think crowded house is originally from New Zealand also.
Yes, and yes. Te Reo Maori :-)
"He makes me not even want to sing." Lol-you're hilarious!
Thank you for show casing one of NZ greatest 😊 This song was by another great kiwi family the Finn brothers. Thank you ❤
Love Stan Walker he’s awesome!! Been watching you since you did the first YEBBA reaction i am a big YEBBA fan so anything you do with her I’m so happy thank you for all you do
You're welcome
You can sing! ❤ Stan comes from a town about an hour away from me. Us kiwis love him, and wonder why he isn't global.
Just beautiful
Love your reactions cuz keep doing you all day
I love and Stan, Stan❣️❣️❣️ from Melbourne Australia 🥰
Stan is a maori and our people are quite spiritual,we live within our feelings and our love 4 the land is different,we are indiginous people of nz, the beautiful thing about stan is he can sing anything even without his stomach, music comes natural cause maori kids grow up in kapa haka, just like how people are bought up in church choir,
You have a beautiful voice love your reaction he is singing in our native tongue Māori its a straight translation of the english words we are not Australians we are New Zealanders Stan is so talented and humble thank you
As others have said, Stan sings the middle section in te reo māori. He's a beautiful ambassador for his culture & language. Crowded House were a mix of Aussies and Kiwis (New Zealanders), but Neil Finn is a Kiwi. I think the personal trials that Stan has come through have brought a new dimension to him as an artist. He was always incredibly talented, but he's now maturing into a phenomenally soulful singer, whose driven to leave something special in the world with using his gifts. and his technique is just out of this world now. You MUST go back and watch some of his breakout Australian Idol performances and compare to how he sounds now - massive talent even as a kid, but so so raw. His journey is incredible - and far from over. Thanks to reactors like yourself, I think he's on the cusp of hitting a new level internationally...which is no more than he deserves.
Dayum that intro with the Philip Bailey falsetto 😱😱🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
That fever check be having me cracking up, bro... LOL
I love your reactions...so genuine
this is my ALL TIME favorite song
Love this version of it! Stan has such a beautiful voice
Wow Māori version 💚
I absolutely LOVE your reactions! I feel the same way you do about Stan... he is pretty special. ❤
3:41 gives me goosebumps every time. Incredible vocal performance of an incredible song!!
I was laughing almost all the way through... you so funny 😂
3:02
Your face when the Levites came in 🤣🤣🤣
That change to Te Reo Maori was awesome, Stan is the man bro
Yes Stan is from New Zealand and is a NZ Maori. He moved to Aussie x great reaction vid!!!! 🙌
Aotearoa/NZ love you Stan ❤
Love your reaction but Stan is a kiwi, a proud Māori and lives in NZ.
You were close with the Australian bands man. Crowded House is a New Zealand band though, and Stan, halfway through the song swapped the lyrics over to his Maori language; indigenous language of New Zealand. Thats okay though, still really dig all your reactions. Stan also has a killer Amazing Grace song you would enjoy
Wrong.. Crowded House is comprised of 1 NZ'er and 2 Australians
Technically Crowded House are an Australian band, as they were formed here but Split Enz (founded by Tim Finn) are a NZ band for e.g. as they were formed in NZ. Stan is NZ but he did win Australian idol so we claim him too lol
Im a kiwi, crowded house was formed in australia with aussies and kiwis n the band
@@tinkler4 Stan was born in Australia though lol in Melbourne.
@@kirstinpurcell6619 without that 1 Kiwi there would be no Crowded House though
we aint mad. we love ya reaction
Stunning.
Yessss I was waiting for you to do this one!🙌🏽💯
My friend, you have barely scratched the surface of Australian music 😆
As an Aussie, thank you for taking the time to listen to Australian artists.
Pity he's not Australian but kiwi lol Neil finn kiwi your lucky your our cousins across the pond🤣😂
I love how we have so many waiata(songs) now that are a blend of Te Reo Māori and English. It's kind of unique.
Yup. You’re my favourite reactor!
Stan Walker is not an Australian artist, he’s Maori from Aotearoa New Zealand ❤
Stan has a beautiful well balanced voice especially when he sings in Maori good job brother.. watching you from Australia 🇦🇺
Best male vocalist of his generation.
Stan Walker is singing in Māori - his native tongue (New Zealand).
Amazing Stan
Singing with so much passion
Very emotional version I felt🌺🏵🌸
He's a New Zealander as is Crowded House 😊
Loved your reaction ♥ look forward to hearing your version 👍
" THIS BOY GOTTA DIFFERENT VOICE "
CHUR MY BRO..
Perfection 🙌🙌🙌
They are singing in Te Reo the Maori language which is the second language of New Zealand most of the people you see in this video are Maori
It's the First and NZSL is second. English is recognised and more widely spoken.
Beautiful 🥰
Love your reactions 🥰 Proud Maori wahine right here ❤🖤🤍
Kiwi New Zealand Maori singer - the best of the best
The hearty NZ ! We got all the best sounds 😌
I love that you're reviewing Stan Walker. Big ups from Wellington, New Zealand 👊🏼👍🏼!!
Another Australian idol winner
You should hear him sing Tennessee Whiskey. Gorgeous!
yes authentic as reaction....much respect for the reaction
Thank you
you are so welcome. in yr own time it b cool for u to watch his documentary...stans story...it givs a great understanding of who he is and his journey. also like the other comment...his amazing Grace eill def mak u close your eyes and tak it in for sure
I love how they switched to singing in Maori. For years our language was oppressed. My mother and her sisters never fully learnt Maori because their generation were scolded by white teachers and society. Now today, we celebrate our very first Official Maori New Year here in New Zealand. #Matariki
we all walk taller because of people like Stan..
‘My possessions are causing me suspicion but there’s no proof’
The switch from english to maori.. stan walker style🤘
you have a magnificent voice
The lyrics that they sing in te reo Māori differs to the English lyric...but the sentiment is still there....
Love this reaction 🤣💯
