  • In this video I want to show you what I get up to on a typical day and the tasks that I do as an SA at AWS! In today's video I am working from home so it gives me some flexibility in how I structure my day. I generally work from home 3 or 4 days a week and go to the office once or twice a week.
    Its been a busy period so I wasn't able to get some usual things in like a workout or some of the other hobbies I have but in future videos I will be sure to include those things as well.
    Let me know if you'd like to see more stuff like this, especially if its around my days in the office! Thanks for watching.

      Thanks so much for taking the time to give your feedback, it’s great to hear and I’m glad you liked the video (and most importantly it was informative!)

      Thank you! I’ve been meaning to make an updated one as I’ve had some big life changes (also the reason why I haven’t made any content recently!) Stay tuned :)

    What tool(s) do you use to organize your current projects/clients/deadlines, etc?

    • @kishandavetech

      I’ve been using Todoist for probably over a year now for task management. I find it’s the best balance between quickly adding tasks, organisation and natural language processing for me. I have occasionally used Apple Reminders but I keep coming back to Todoist. For email it’s just Outlook and I use a time blocking method to organise my day. I also occasionally use Flow (I think it’s called) which is a pomodoro timer which helps me focus

      @@kishandavetech I've been using Apple Reminders, but I feel like todoist is the GOAT! What about meeting notes, technical notes etc? How do you manage all that?

    I didn't know as a solutions architect you have to get in on all these meetings. Doesn't that affect your work time? or does clients/managers consider the time you lost because of meetings.

      Hey @Bamlak_Abebayehu I am sorry I haven't had a chance to reply. I've taken a slight break from CZcams recently. The job is very autonomous so you are in control of what your day/week looks like. My manager doesn't check-in with me on my weekly progress (which works great for me), I am responsible for my own deliverables and how I manage my time to get them done. Its worth noting that some weeks I have a lot of meetings and some weeks I have very few.
      The SA role isn't just a "hands-on" builder role - theres many different aspects of it and hence you may be working on multiple things at a time. I hope this helps!

      @@kishandavetech and a recommendation for monitor will be nice

    • @kishandavetech

      I’d recommend working backwards from what you will use the monitors for (gaming, design work, video production, graphic design etc). I have 2 x Samsung LU28R55 monitors. Depending on what you’re using them for you will need to consider things like refresh rate, colour accuracy, viewing angle etc. However for office work/home set up, I have had no issues with the monitors I’ve got. Hope this helps!

      @@kishandavetech why dont you choose a 32 inch monitor

    • @kishandavetech
      @kishandavetech  Před 10 měsíci +1

      @@longnguyen7181 having 2 of them would have been too big for my desk. I do a lot of presentations etc so I wanted two separate monitors
