Stirling, the SAS international memorial is located in France, for exceptional gallantry in action of a french SAS troop that fought and died against a far numerical superior german column, inflicting them huge casualties and stopping their advance during Normandy battle. There wasn't only 1 SAS french section, but 2 whole regiments on total five (3rd & 4th SAS), which means exactly the same number of british SAS (1st & 2nd SAS) as the 5th SAS was a Belgian squandron !!
if this thru, then i have never seen any other jet to that. I think many can buy jets for the airforces, but getting the right pilot is 80% of the story. Isreal used to fly Mirages at one time, and they scored great victories.

Have nothing but respect for the French military at this point. The Rafale is amazing hard to decide between the F-22 the SU 37, the Russian Berkut and the Rafale. AS for the flying my heart is still in my throat ... awesome. Americans who don't read beyond the sports pages should check out how many times in Afghanistan French troops rescued Americans - a bunch. Ce sont des Mirage F1. reconnaissable a leur avec leur aile en flèche a l inverse des autres mirages équipés d aile delta. le cockpit a également un dessin particulier avec une vitre avant très petite et deux énormes montants qui bouchent pas mal la vue.
@Dano78229 The principle of flying low is giving less time to ground defense to see you, aim at you, and shoot at you. That's the reason pilots learn to fly very low over ground. And French are very good at that.

I've worked with the French Air force and ground units many times, they have never been anything but courageous. It was funny to joke about them and the whole gulf deal back then, but remember the FFL has been engaged around the world against terrorists longer than anyone else, (Sierra Leone) . If ask for French close air support, you can get a shave and haircut as part of the deal, just raise up a bit.

Inside a plane you've got G forces acting upon you, and hundreds of dials and switches to monitor and maintain... If you crash, it's not just game over, you're dead.

mirage 2000/5 mk2 is roughly the equivalent of a f18 or f16. rafale is on same level as f18 E/F super hornet and eurofighter. nobody know for the F22 since it has never been tested against foreign aircrafts, even from allied countries. but i imagine it outstanding.
delta wing are stronger and can carry more fuel than swept wings, but i think one of the main advantage is low flying. from what i know the french airforce has a tactic of long penetration into ennemy territories at very low altitude, so delta wing is a very good choice.
