  • 10 Rules of SWEDISH DEATH CLEANING that will Change Your Life
    I'm all about diving deep into the art of intentional living and decluttering, because let's face it, who doesn't want a life that feels lighter and more purposeful? Today, we're going to explore something truly transformative: Swedish Death Cleaning. It's not your typical tidying-up routine. This practical approach rooted in the heart of Scandinavian minimalism, has the power to completely change how we view our possessions, our spaces, and ultimately, our lives.

    Take a Picture of your doll and add it to your journal. Then you can throw the moldy doll away...and will keep the memory.

    I would just fill it with the doll with bleach water and let it sit for a little bit. Then swish the water around, empty it and repeat until all the mold is gone. If you can find a small brush(maybe an old kid’s toothbrush or a bottle nipple brush) that you get down in there and scrub, that would help, too. Unfortunately, no more bath time with the doll, though.

    Journals are the best things to keep for future generations. My mother kept complete baby books for my sister and me. She died a few years later. Those memories became so valuable to me when I had my own children. Objects don't have the value that those memories do.

    My mom was a hoarder. I've had to help empty out TWO houses... my grandparents' home, plus my mom's stuff after she passed away. Everything was sentimental and "worth money." When she came to live with us, I told her she could only bring X amount to our new home that comfortably fit in the space available. She wanted to get storage units for "stuff" which she couldn't afford #1 and kept asking to fill the garage with boxes. My oldest brother moved in with her the last few years after we had to move to another city... Needless to say the two of them filled every inch and the home was condemned when mom passed away and a few years later my brother passed as well. I do NOT want my daughter to ever have to go through what I did. ❤

    Try bleaching the inside of your doll and wipe it out with a Qtip or small tooth brush.
    Once the mold is removed rinse and blow dry your doll from the inside.

    Soak the doll with distilled white vinegar, it will loosen the mold. Use an old toothbrush to scrub, rinse, repeat. It's worth trying to salvage it.

      Cleaning grade vinegar, at least 9.9%. Not supermarket stuff, which is food grade, 4.5%

    Hi Candace loved the video. I think we all should get rid of stuff no one else wants our stuff.Honestly people don't even want to have to go through our stuff.The new generations are not about stuff. I think if we can get rid of stuff and ask our loved ones is this something you would like.I say give it to them now if you can.Thanks keep the videos coming

    Try to salvage that doll if you can. I know we are all about getting rid of clutter, but that doll is little and has special clothes your mom made. You could even display it in clothes your mom made in a shadow box. Not everything is trash. Some things are treasures to us, and yes, spark joy.

    I just recently saw a CZcams video by Andrea Jean cleaning and she found a mold cleaning product that took mold off her washer seal. The mold had been there for a long time! I couldn’t find the video, but I will continue to try to find and share with you.

    You can always toss it if cleaning doesn’t work and get a new one. The clothes will still be sentimental and then be used.

    The only thing that will get rid of mold is vinegar. If you care for the item douse it in vinegar clean and repeat until it's gone. Although plastic is a little harder since it's pourous

    I love all the thoughts you brought up. I should have talked to my kids - especially my daughter - before I passed some of my/our belongins on. She was/is really upset about some of my decisions and I can´t do anything about it now. I didn´t think she would care - that´s why I did it by myself. I´m way to fast getting rid of stuff. So thank you for this video! Have a nice day!

    I would get rid of the doll and try to find one made around the same time on eBay or something. That way your daughter can still play with it with all the clothes your mom made for it. When my grandma died, the only thing I really wanted was this red step stool/seat, but one of my aunts took it. My mom bought me a similar stool, and it always reminds me of my grandma, even if it wasn't her exact one.

    I would try filling the doll with vinegar to kill the mould. Leave it soaking for several days, Empty it out and then prop it up with whatever in the yard in the sunshine for another 24 hours. Then use a bottle brush or something that you can get down in there to scrape out all the dead mold.

  • @andreadriver6532

    Hydrogen peroxide kills mold- vinegar also is good for mold prevention. (Don’t mix together though!!)
    I’d start with hydrogen peroxide and water and get a little scrubby bottle brush or tooth brush and try to scrub her clean

    Maybe you could put some baking soda in the doll and then add some vinegar and let it sit for awhile then take a toothbrush to clean the inside or a small bottle cleaner. After that rinse it out real good and see how clean it is. Let it air dry.

    Seek the Lord while He may be found,
    Call upon Him while He is near.
    7 Let the wicked forsake his way,
    And the unrighteous man his thoughts;
    Let him return to the Lord,
    And He will have mercy on him;
    And to our God,
    For He will abundantly pardon.

    Nor are your ways My ways,” says the Lord. Isaiah 55:6-8 😊

    Please please throw the doll. Me and my family have life long health issues due to black mold. Its a lie that vinegar will kill it. Bleach wont get it all. Dont risk your kids health. We didnt know but now you know. Your mother is not the cupie doll is what The Clutter Fairy on youtube would say. We will never recover completely 😢
