A minor cannot understand The wear and tear it is going to have on their bodys later on in life, not only their body their mentality. Stress is a lot more harmful than people realize and stress can kill, not to mention minors do not understand what stress can and will do to a person over a period of time.
Breaks should be mandatory but the choice should be up to employer for everybody. Nobody should be force 8hrs without being able eat.
I can t believe this. In Canada everyone gets 30mins after 5 hrs
Representative seems to have a conflict of interest and is being disingenuous.
They can’t be simultaneously minors and adults.
Hopefully if this gets in, the parents hold them accountable if they don’t allow the teens to take breaks.
Enough of minor labor.... To many young have died. A 13 year old was working with a large hot oil vat. NOW DECEASED!!!
So sad. The influence of the captive workforce in China that too many corporations are involved with has lowered the bar. And desensitized many to the overwhelming downsides of the issue.
Does Wilder think to compete with China that we should adopt their practices?
He owns his own business by franchise I just called them out Smoothie King Multi-Unit Franchisee
Gey why did they remove the break requirements from businesses period? We should all get breaks because businesses barely respect employees at all so they need rules to keep them in check.
Minors have to be protected because some managers will bully them or convince them to do things against their best interest. Especially in smaller more laborious jobs. I've witnessed this myself. They will pick on the weaker employees. Children shouldn't have the option to harm themselves unknowingly. And if we determine under 18 is a child with all the legal limitations we need to stick to the age and not say well a 17 yr old is a young man really. stick with the decision we make regarding the age of adulthood and follow those laws.
She put BARS ❤ YES MAAM❤🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
From the party of 'protect the children'. 😂
Slavery is when free to choose.
1984.
...a fine of up to, (up to), $500.
Good. She has luxury beliefs. I was 16 once. If the break structure isn't enough, I'd leave unless I really needed the job, and if I really need it, then requiring my employer to give me more break intervals than an adult employee doesn't help me get hired over them.
👍🏿
Tammy is a bleeding ❤.
Guess you’re slaving away at Costco
Most kids will choose to take a break, but if some want to earn a bit more by working, then they should be free to do so
This woman is insane - Yes a 16 or 17 year old minor is a young adult, when you hit 18 they don't call you a "young adult" they call you an adult. I think she needs to visit every theater and ask the kid price and the adult price she would find out that theaters in Louisiana ask 13 year old kids to pay adult prices. Predatory business like that should be your concern!
No you don't you still considering them minor till 21 till it doesn't work
For you
16-17 still in high school
@@critter2 17 years 364 days is a minor, 18 years 0 days is an adult in America. You're probably one of those internet misinformation disinformation malinformation censorship crybabies.
16 year old: "I want to work more and skip my break"
Dems: "Absolutely not! 😡 "
Also 16 year old: "I want to change my gender and hide it from my parents"
Dems: "Oh of course! Absolutely 🥳"
