I've tried to search these robberies to see if they were ever caught but too long ago it seems. Nothing found. Would like to see a follow up
The gang who were bursting in and robbing families were all caught. The ringleader was the guy on the roof in the Strangeways prison riot shouting out demands, think his name was Paul taylor
Someone needs to make a database of all cases and see what sentence they got and if they are still in the nick.
As someone who worked in the hide & skin trade for 6 years i'd say its a probable these were an Inside job or had inside knowledge.

What these robbers don't understand is that no insurance company is to compensate you for your mental muck up state this crap leaves you in.
In the 1st case, the police sketch artist later found work in the "Beavis and Butthead" cartoon company.

@@1987djm Some folk really are diehard. They seem to pine for life behind bars. Not content with 14 years for that crime, he no sooner is released on parole, when he goes and tries a stamp swindle and ends up with a life sentence.
It really gives me the chills seeing these sort of things close to home, i only live about 5 miles from Hartlepool itself and at one point i knew where the robberies went by, around 13:53 they must of passed West Hartlepool Rugby Club which my dad played against a few times, but despite it happening a long time ago before i was around it's scary things like this can be very close to home.

What's the bmws model?
The Red BMW is a 5 series Alpina. Made from 1981-85, hence the bigger alloys, spoiler and Alpina Gold stripes. Alpina are a Independent tuning firm approved by BMW. Nice motor still today but sadly out of my reach!
