I love this song, it's an amazing song, however I always thought that it ends too fast, the fade out part, typical 80s ending, is too short when they finally return to the opening riff... This cover version both keeps the spirit of the song without trying to forcefully make it something else and adds a little bit of artists into the mix.
This is how you cover a song, and that's how Queensryche should have ended the song imho.

Musically it's superb. Vocally it's superb, but Geoff Tate has such a distinct and unique voice that it's hard to match vocally and this is pretty close. Impressive!!!
True, but there is no reason to think that an attempt has been made to make a 100% carbon copy of this song. Every singer and musician is like a fingerprint. I thought this was an excellent performance of a really great composition. Not about personal solos but how the whole group got to bring the feel of the song to the listeners. Well done
I'm sorry I didn't discover this sooner! Really admirable job. Just the right amount of personal touches, while giving us enough of the original to be satisfying. Vocals were on point. Musicianship was great, and I really enjoyed the outro solo!

Fan of Queensryche from the beginning... this kicks ass!...
Awesome! Modern covers like this expose how absolutely incredible and intricate the original songs actually were. These guys did an incredible job and are expert musicians, yet had source material to study and follow (since it's a cover, of course). But imagine Queensryche writing the song originally before anyone ever heard it, and as a band, listening back to the final recording - just like we are with this version - before it was released. Wow. The world is lacking music like this - or a modern version of it - today. Tell the next kid you see to try guitar.

Brilliant cover - well done! I have loved this song since the album came out in 1988. I am 50 now but remember putting forward my top 10 songs to Kerrang for consideration in 1993 and this was my number 1 - I got my list in the magazine. Still possibly my favourite song of all time. LOVED the guitar work a lovely updating of the guitar sound like having Satriani come in and lay down his grooves. Really impressed. Greeting from New Zealand!
