Was there that day, was for me the 2nd lauf of this year for me, with in between the 24h of course. Too bad you can't imagine how close the battle is standing next to the circuit on 1 point, so thanks for the video.
Top speed of the Merceds is higher i guess, cornerring is better from Porsche's side but Mercedes came from a pit stop, dunno if they changed tyres.
Had to miss last saturday's action, but onto the 6hours on 04.08.2012!

Yes they got the BOP, Ballance of Performance.
All Cars are nearly at 2,6Kg/HP after BOP.
For example, 1200Kg-460HP, 1250Kg-480HP, 1300Kg-500HP and the Mamut Class with 1350Kg-520HP.
They got 3 Things to Setup the Power to weight Ratio, 1 Air restrictor, 2 Penalty Weight, 3 Aeoro Dynamic Penalty.
And with this 3 Parameter they make the Cars all nearly same Performance, 2,5-2,6Kg/HP.
And VLN use the International GT2 and GT3 Rules.

Who was driving the Rowe SLS? Caus that guy was seriously pushing the limits of what's considered blocking and dirty driving. He was all over the place on Döttinger Höhe and tryed to squeeze the Manthey Porsche onto the grass. Pretty hard racing there.
