    🎉POLL TIME! 🎉 Would YOU run the Mt Marathon Race?! 🫣

    • @alfredodejuan390
      @alfredodejuan390 Před 2 měsíci +1

      I usually prefer to walk. As I said one time: Whether you see me running, don't even think and try to run as fast as you can. It's the best hazard sign you will ever have.

      I would do the Marathon, but it wouldnt be a race for me - I would walk in a slow pace, enjoying nature, enjoying the environment :)

    That was so awesome. Thanks for doing all that work! The sun shining on you as it was so low cast your ridge’s shadow that you were on and it caused a glow in it’s reflection just where your shadows would have appeared far off in the distance. And the moon rise was a special treat.

    I've been peaking around the channel's videos and the camera work is all stunning, and all the additional information adds a fun educational aspect. I would really love it if you guys did a Tracy Arm fjord Video, it's such an underrated and serene place and unfortunately, I couldn't get any footage when was there, maybe you guys could get some drone shots and tell some fun facts about the place in the style as all the other videos. I understand if it's not doable, but if y'all end up doing it you will genuinely love it!

    • @ArtWeThereYet
      @ArtWeThereYet  Před 2 měsíci

      This is such an awesome comment and compliment! Thank you!! We don't have plans to visit and film Tracy Arm, BUT we are about to travel to film Misty Fjords and LeConte Bay! Drone footage might not be on the menu, as most of where we will be traveling is National Park. But we will have our schnazzy camera with us, and we will be in full filmmaking mode, so we hope you enjoy the episode that comes from that expedition!

    Several years ago, I hiked Mount Marathon as an experienced Alaskan hiker. I somehow ended up accidentally off trail, got separated from my hiking partner, dropped/lost my bear spray, ended up bushwhacking for at least an hour through alders and stinging nettles… To this day, it is still my biggest hiking fail. BUT THAT VIEW FROM THE TOP. Worth it. The runners who participate in the race are next level athletes.

      Oh that’s a kind compliment! I (Cora) was definitively feeling it the next day! Especially in the knees and my hip (I’ve got hip that’s probably going to need replacing before I’m 60). BUT! I use this crème that’s kind of like tiger balm, and it does wonders!

    Al parecer no hay relación entre las agujas de hielo y el permafrost. Las agujas de hielo son debidas a un suelo con temperatura superior a la congelación y una textura que permite que el agua se acumule en su interior, pero que también permite que se mueva con cierta velocidad a través de él. Una temperatura atmosférica por debajo a la de congelación del agua y ajustada para el flujo de la misma, es la que hace que ésta se congele en forma de agujas. Más deprisa el agua fluiría y se formaría un bloque. Si fluye más despacio, el agua se congela justo en la superficie y por debajo de ella.

      Fasinante! Sabias que los nativos de Alaska tienen MUCHAS palabras para "hielo"? Es como los japoneses con sus diferentes palabras para "sabor".

      @@ArtWeThereYet pues ni lo uno, ni lo otro. Sabía que los japoneses identifican un sabor más, conocido como umami. Pero no que tuvieran diferentes formas de referirse al sabor.
