I had the honor in meeting Jeremy yesterday at Low Country. We sat and talked about different blends, orientals, and latakia. He showed me his pipe collection. The pipe in this video is super light in weight, and is just spectacular. It looks brand new. You never would’ve thought this pipe was ever smoked. In fact all his pipes are like that. It’s so cool that the head blender of C&D is just chilling out at Low Country enjoying a smoke with random people. Ty for everything Jeremy!
Just cracked open my 8oz tin of this yesterday as the weather has finally begun to cool. Y'all have done something really really special here. There are only a few latakia mixtures I enjoy and this one absolutely joins that rank if not takes the top spot. Your process to transform the latakia is tremendous! I'm looking forward to spending time with Palmetto this fall/winter and hope to see other blends featuring this type of latakia. Thanks C&D and Jeremy for doing what you do!
Sounds fantastic, Jeremy! It's amazing to think that you're now introducing a new process into tobacco blending. You're painting with brand new colors and everyone else still has crayons
Fantastic blend! I didn’t crack my tin until my family and I took our yearly vacation to North Myrtle. I wanted to smoke my first bowl in the Palmetto State! It was excellent. Unfortunately I never got to fry Syrian Latakia, but I certainly can tell the difference in the Latakia in PB. That process you used made it lighter. Less Smokey I mean, but more floral/fruity. I do also get a red wine, almost Chianti-dry like notes on the retro. Great job Jeremy and the folks at C&D!
Did the Syrian Latakia use local hard wools in the smoke curing? I think it did and that’s why Dark Fired Ky, is sometimes used in a Latakia/Balkan style blend to get a bit of that red wine flavor that evolves into bbq sauce when more Ky is used. Like Vintage Syrian and it’s replacement or Bill Bailey’s Balkan or from what I gather Balkan Sobranie 759.
Can't wait!!!! Gonna have to grab 1 to smoke and 2 to celler. I'll Crack 1 in 5 and another in 10 years. That's what I've been doing, but now with the 8 ounce tins I'll have alot more to smoke then with the previous blends. Thanks C&D👏👍
Hi Jeremy, lot of congratulations for your always new and inspired ideas in creating fashinating blends. One question: are you going to send a certain quantity of Palmetto Balkan also to Synjeco, Sewitzerland? Best regards from Milan

looking forward to trying this -
Smoking some now. Got 2 cans a wondering if i should get another.
Good stuff , now if we could only deal with the Yenidje problem , I feel like that is what's really lacking in modern Balkan's
When will this be available? Can you please recommend a replacement for my empty tin of Toboggan Run? I miss it!
I'll give this one a try for sure
YUH!
