It appears to be contradictory but it actually isn't. One can be very public and manifest in a very public way, The Sun, without revealing who or what one truly is, the 12th House. The concept of "the ego" is misleading and I would say does more harm than good. It creates another series of superficial, theoretical, false antitheses, like "Mind vs Body". There in fact is no such thing as "the ego". There is Consciousness and Depths and layers of Consciousness. In practical terms there is Awareness, and layers and levels of Awareness. There is no "Mind-Body-Soul". There is Being which necessarily has Layers and Levels. It is entirely the decision and capability of the Individual how Deep, Broad or High one Experiences and Manifests. The "ego" is merely Superficial Consciousness. The bulk of our words comes from a superficial, divided, polarized Consciousness. This is why this type of consciousness replicates itself across fields and subjects. And yes, I have 12th Sun but I also have Mercury Trine Pluto. ;-)

When the narrator came to the 12th house, he spit the information about my Cancer sun being in the 12th house with absolute disgust. Then he said people with that placement don't know how to love. Then he said ro learn to love myself, "if that's possible." Then he followed up with the hope that I would treat people nicer." It was brutal. That's not how anyone should speak to another human being. It isn't the first time, until now that I sort of get it. It was tough growing up. People always assume the worst.

never really understood myself.. I have Mercury and Venus in the 12th house..and I am fascinated by the Sun in the 12th .....There are "shades" of this...and all placements... like a 12th House planet having a close aspect with the sun..even if it is somewhere else in the chart. I would love to see an analysis of the differences between...say having the 12H sun vs...a Piscian sun. I notice that comedians and other people who have the ability to "see around corners" in the hidden human experience have some variation of the Sun in the 12th house. Thanks for this video. I have my sun in Virgo in the 12th house only 2 degrees from my ascendant. I heard that some astrologers (or many?) consider this as if it were in the first. But as far as my childhood (and my current sense of self) is concerned, most of the 12th house descriptions fit me. I'm always trying to discover who I am, just to find out that who I am is kind of changeable. Also feel like whatever I say to people they cannot see the real me. Sometimes it feels like there is this glass wall between me and others...metaphorically speaking... Even though I feel that I am far from that scared and shy kid I was when growing up, I still feel this energy inside me. For a long time it felt like there was this "invisible force" inside/outside me which didn't let me manifest who I really am. Like it was allowed for many others, but not for me. Hi :) I have my sun in the 12th house 4°09' Libra/Virgo too. I think I understand what you mean when you talk about that seeming invisible wall about people not understanding or seeing the real you. I feel it as though misunderstanding takes place within the distance of what is spoken and what is heard. Something lost in translation. As though, trying so hard to convey the raw feeling, idea or thought, as felt from inside, only when it is spoken, it is not easily understood. Like a voice screaming from within when misunderstood, an underlying inner yearning to be understood as you feel inside. I've seen the expression, feeling and vibe from other people as well. that moment they didn't feel like they were understood. But then again, because I know how it feels to feel that way, I make an effort to reach out and understand when I see it happening to others, or because I intuitively understand what the person is trying to convey, I help them by explaining it in a different way. Sometimes, just validating that person with what their trying to convey, and paraphraising back to them that I understand what they mean seems to make them feel a great deal better. I think thats one of the plus sides of this. Hope that makes sense lol xD
Ye interesting … I always felt that I. Oulu do with some more ego …. Or personality and now I am discovering that I’ve got lots of them, or at least vey complex . The opposites in me…. And befor I listened to this today I Was thinking just that as to how to have a coherent self with all these opposing forces that run my ship . I can also resonate with not having connection with myself and needing people , others impeded to bring that me out … just like you say of hiding. And yes I am much happier when I am vibrant and responding to the world around me , but yes the gripping desire for success that was hidden and now came to light Dow take first seat in the ride , even when I crash it rises again with new ideas and new and fresh as if nothing happened and the ship haven’t sunk a few days back .
For me the sexuality part isn't accurate. For me sexuality was forced on me as a young child and I wasn't able to form a healthy identity around it. So I now abstain from it completely and I'm much happier now than I ever was before in terms of sexuality. I use my creative and passionate energy in other ways and it works better for me that way. I don't think I had an identity issue in that I didn't know who I was but I definitely had a negative self-consept which hindered me from seeing who I actually was. I was always stuck in loops of repeating what my abusers told me I was so I spend basically my whole life focusing on trying to figure out if what they said was true or not. I also forced myself into boxes to suit the narratives of the toxic people around me but inside I knew it wasn't really me. I was lying to myself but I had no other way to cope at the time so I just continued down a destructive path. When I was younger I felt very isolated so I tended to bend and cross my own healthy boundaries to satiate the need for connection due to the feeling of loneliness. I also grew up in a narcissistic household so my identity mattered very little to those around me... my identity had to match what my abusers wanted me to be. Didn't really work well tho lol I have a lot of Aquarius in my chart including my Sun being in Aqarius lol so I rebelled instead of conformed. But I conformed within rebellious social circles... for example I became a "hippie" when I was in middle school because I wanted to fit into a social group while also being true to myself. Didn't work out obviously lol. I still feel very isolated but I no longer have the maladaptive coping mechanisms I used to have. I never felt like I could be myself so I became a chameleon and I would mimic those around me to fit in. I didn't do this as bad as I see some others doing it but it definitely happened a lot in certain situations... I would say I was cool with things I wasn't okay with and I would allow people to treat me badly even when I was really hurt by their actions and words. Now that I have more of a backbone I no longer fake being okay with things... unless I'm dealing with my family in which case I have no option but to fake a smile (sadly). I try and stay away from them as much as possible so as to not negate my boundaries. I was always very inquisitive and loved uncovering the hidden. Most people didn't like me for that lol... even some other 12th house Suns hated me because of it. Some 12th house Suns rather stay in their delusions and fantasies in order to keep their fragile egos safe... they claim to be enlightened but allow the toxic aspects of their ego to rule their lives. The ego isn't the enemy but if you allow the negative aspects to control how you behave and interact with others and the world you lead the door wide open to narcissistic tendencies. It's okay to say, "I am this" it's not okay to say, "I am this so you have to play along with my narrative regardless of how it negatively effects you". Huge difference. For example secrets- yes I uncover them due to logical deduction and then acting to find the truth. But, a desire to uncover the secret is not the theme. It is the ability to find the secret is there where others do not realize there is a secret. You are correct to say that sun 12th house gives insight to the higher conscious that others never seem able to see- yet we (sun 12th) live there. The sex thing- learning about ourselves you said- actually they seek partners who are helping them learn something about the sun in the 12th house person. I could go on and critique each line of your explanation.
Perhapse rather than critique, you can 'add to' Jewel's explination. Work co-operatively inorder to give others, such as myself a more wholistic picture. It appears to be contradictory but it actually isn't. One can be very public and manifest in a very public way, The Sun, without revealing who or what one truly is, the 12th House. The concept of "the ego" is misleading and I would say does more harm than good. It creates another series of superficial, theoretical, false antitheses, like "Mind vs Body". There in fact is no such thing as "the ego". There is Consciousness and Depths and layers of Consciousness. In practical terms there is Awareness, and layers and levels of Awareness. There is no "Mind-Body-Soul". There is Being which necessarily has Layers and Levels. It is entirely the decision and capability of the Individual how Deep, Broad or High one Experiences and Manifests. The "ego" is merely Superficial Consciousness. The bulk of our words comes from a superficial, divided, polarized Consciousness. This is why this type of consciousness replicates itself across fields and subjects. And yes, I have 12th Sun but I also have Mercury Trine Pluto. ;-)

When the narrator came to the 12th house, he spit the information about my Cancer sun being in the 12th house with absolute disgust. Then he said people with that placement don't know how to love. Then he said ro learn to love myself, "if that's possible." Then he followed up with the hope that I would treat people nicer." It was brutal. That's not how anyone should speak to another human being.

Thanks for this video. I have my sun in Virgo in the 12th house only 2 degrees from my ascendant. I heard that some astrologers (or many?) consider this as if it were in the first. But as far as my childhood (and my current sense of self) is concerned, most of the 12th house descriptions fit me. I'm always trying to discover who I am, just to find out that who I am is kind of changeable. Also feel like whatever I say to people they cannot see the real me. Sometimes it feels like there is this glass wall between me and others...metaphorically speaking... Even though I feel that I am far from that scared and shy kid I was when growing up, I still feel this energy inside me. For a long time it felt like there was this "invisible force" inside/outside me which didn't let me manifest who I really am. Like it was allowed for many others, but not for me.
I'm curious what is your take on this - would the sun be considered in the first house when it's on the ascendant? Thanks.

I think I understand what you mean when you talk about that seeming invisible wall about people not understanding or seeing the real you.
I feel it as though misunderstanding takes place within the distance of what is spoken and what is heard.
Something lost in translation.
As though, trying so hard to convey the raw feeling, idea or thought, as felt from inside, only when it is spoken, it is not easily understood.
Like a voice screaming from within when misunderstood, an underlying inner yearning to be understood as you feel inside.
I've seen the expression, feeling and vibe from other people as well.
that moment they didn't feel like they were understood.
But then again, because I know how it feels to feel that way, I make an effort to reach out and understand when I see it happening to others, or because I intuitively understand what the person is trying to convey, I help them by explaining it in a different way.
Sometimes, just validating that person with what their trying to convey, and paraphraising back to them that I understand what they mean seems to make them feel a great deal better.
I think thats one of the plus sides of this.

Ye interesting … I always felt that I. Oulu do with some more ego …. Or personality and now I am discovering that I’ve got lots of them, or at least vey complex . The opposites in me…. And befor I listened to this today I Was thinking just that as to how to have a coherent self with all these opposing forces that run my ship . I can also resonate with not having connection with myself and needing people , others impeded to bring that me out … just like you say of hiding. And yes I am much happier when I am vibrant and responding to the world around me , but yes the gripping desire for success that was hidden and now came to light Dow take first seat in the ride , even when I crash it rises again with new ideas and new and fresh as if nothing happened and the ship haven’t sunk a few days back .
I have an Aries Sun, Aries Mercury and Venus Taurus all in the 12th house. Shocking how so much of this hits close to home.

For me the sexuality part isn't accurate. For me sexuality was forced on me as a young child and I wasn't able to form a healthy identity around it. So I now abstain from it completely and I'm much happier now than I ever was before in terms of sexuality. I use my creative and passionate energy in other ways and it works better for me that way. I don't think I had an identity issue in that I didn't know who I was but I definitely had a negative self-consept which hindered me from seeing who I actually was. I was always stuck in loops of repeating what my abusers told me I was so I spend basically my whole life focusing on trying to figure out if what they said was true or not. I also forced myself into boxes to suit the narratives of the toxic people around me but inside I knew it wasn't really me. I was lying to myself but I had no other way to cope at the time so I just continued down a destructive path. When I was younger I felt very isolated so I tended to bend and cross my own healthy boundaries to satiate the need for connection due to the feeling of loneliness. I also grew up in a narcissistic household so my identity mattered very little to those around me... my identity had to match what my abusers wanted me to be. Didn't really work well tho lol I have a lot of Aquarius in my chart including my Sun being in Aqarius lol so I rebelled instead of conformed. But I conformed within rebellious social circles... for example I became a "hippie" when I was in middle school because I wanted to fit into a social group while also being true to myself. Didn't work out obviously lol. I still feel very isolated but I no longer have the maladaptive coping mechanisms I used to have. I never felt like I could be myself so I became a chameleon and I would mimic those around me to fit in. I didn't do this as bad as I see some others doing it but it definitely happened a lot in certain situations... I would say I was cool with things I wasn't okay with and I would allow people to treat me badly even when I was really hurt by their actions and words. Now that I have more of a backbone I no longer fake being okay with things... unless I'm dealing with my family in which case I have no option but to fake a smile (sadly). I try and stay away from them as much as possible so as to not negate my boundaries. I was always very inquisitive and loved uncovering the hidden. Most people didn't like me for that lol... even some other 12th house Suns hated me because of it. Some 12th house Suns rather stay in their delusions and fantasies in order to keep their fragile egos safe... they claim to be enlightened but allow the toxic aspects of their ego to rule their lives. The ego isn't the enemy but if you allow the negative aspects to control how you behave and interact with others and the world you lead the door wide open to narcissistic tendencies. It's okay to say, "I am this" it's not okay to say, "I am this so you have to play along with my narrative regardless of how it negatively effects you". Huge difference. I’ve uncovered my Capricorn Midheaven Qualities. I have a ton of fire in my personal planets so I can be very popular but introverted at the same time my dominant planet Jupiter also helps my energy. If you have your sun in the 12th house I am very surprised, since I hear the words that can be used appropriate to the explanation yet are too general and mainstream.Some of the words you are using in the interpretation are not used with the accurate syllogism. For example secrets- yes I uncover them due to logical deduction and then acting to find the truth. But, a desire to uncover the secret is not the theme. It is the ability to find the secret is there where others do not realize there is a secret. You are correct to say that sun 12th house gives insight to the higher conscious that others never seem able to see- yet we (sun 12th) live there. The sex thing- learning about ourselves you said- actually they seek partners who are helping them learn something about the sun in the 12th house person. I could go on and critique each line of your explanation.
