- A new and exciting Church design. Using a simple brick skin detailed through texture and perforation. With a strong focus on using light, reflection and volume to enhance one's sense of place and connection with God.
The brief required a strong focus on connecting people to people and people to God, so a place to gather and create a community was extremely important.

What A Beautiful Name by Hillsong Worship
while I'm not a Christian I do approve the design. the old church design is just outdated and boring to look at.
This new design is too sanitised and modern, and reflects theological problems.
It is one thing to be humble, I’ve attended the divine liturgy huddled in a mission housed in the back of a bookstore, and even then the church had bothered to erect an iconostasis even given their austerity, but it’s another thing to hide behind the facade of modern simplicity as an excuse for a lack of talent.
Where is the altar? Why is a band at the forefront? Worship is not a concert but sacrifice and submission. Why is there a bar in the narthex? Did not Jesus chase the money changers out of His temple?

I'd rather have five people who are serious in prayer and ministering to God in a barn than a modern building that flaunts its look to attract instead of Christ.
The reason I say this is the church my wife attend continues to "update" its looks to modernize and the congregation has absolutely no excitement for God. They treat God as mundane. The leaders are looking to annex another church to do the same thing - spend money to "modernize" its appearance. Same goes with worship and music. The money spent on lights, sound, big screens - all for show for us and not for God.
Give me a broken down church that has passionate believers to this any day.
I know the younger generation won't appreciate my view. I wish some would understand why I see things as I do.
A little disconnected
This design reflects errors, architectural and theological.
Where is the altar? Why have a space for a band at the forefront? Worship is not a concert, it is submission and it is sacrifice. Why have a bar in the narthex? Money changers were chased out of the Temple by Jesus.
And why, why this gross modern simplicity? It is one thing to be humble and work within means as the Ark was once held in a tent, it is another thing to make a bland convention centre. A church must aim to make itself God’s temple on earth.
