    My most memorable beer was many decades ago at the Hofbrau house in Munich . I was a student travelling with friends.In Ontario we couldn't drink legally but here we were in a gigantic German beer hall drinking giant steins of beer being served from heaping trays . The beer maids hefted them overhead on one arm and it was an amazing sight. The beer to our inexperienced tastes was amazing and plentiful.

      +Bill K That's something I'm hoping to experience soon, drinking beer in a German Beerhall!! Maybe this year for Octoberfest :) I've seen photos of the ladies carrying those huge steins of beer, incredible!

    I had my most memorable beer in Scotland. It was a honey heather ale. The beer itself was good, but it was most memorable because it came at the end of long day of driving on the left side of the road through some remote Scottish areas. It was a much needed rest after an exciting but wee bit stressful adventure :)

      @seeusoontravel  Před 8 lety

      +Allison Murray I remember driving on the left side of the road for the very first time. I was roadtripping through Australia and relocating a large RV from Cairns to Sydney. I too was stressed beyond belief. Not only because of the lane swap but because of the size of the RV. Driving on the highway was easy but it was the parking lots that I never fully got comfortable with haha. I haven't been to Scotland yet but looking to go soon!

    This is great! Some of these are my favourite places to be in Toronto, any night of the week! I'd have to say that my most memorable beer ever was at the Val-Dieu Abbey in Belgium. It's located just a short drive from my parents hometown in the Netherlands. I grew up in Canada but we visited the Netherlands/Belgium a lot as kids and a few years back I was able to go as an adult with my family. My father has taught me a ton about beer and I have followed his steps and fallen in love with the taste of a good Belgian Trappist beer. I was drinking their triple with him, sitting in the abbey and it was an experience I'll never forget!!!

      +Michelle Gubbels Wow Michelle that sounds amazing! I got goosebumps reading your post. I spent 3 weeks in Belgium in 2014 and it completely changed my appreciation for beer. I never made it to an abbey but do love Belgian Trappist beers. Something to save for the return trip! :)

    Hard to pin down most memorable as there have been so many and every style is different. Been all over the world and tried more beers than I can remember. Highlight was definitely Portland and Bend. I only wish Toronto could be that relaxed. London Beer Festival had 700 beers and they gave you a pint glass! If I have to pick one a friend brought me three consecutive years Goose Island Bourbon County Brand Stout. That was a memorable tasting!

    • @seeusoontravel
      @seeusoontravel  Před 8 lety

      +Hogtown Biker Oh wow 700 beers at London's Beer Festival? Where do you even begin?? Sounds like you've had a lot of memorable times all over the world. I feel the same, I'd have a hard time answering my own question, lol!

    The most memorable beer I've had was in Toronto. I was out with some recently made friends Chris (from Granite Brewery), Ange (from Indie Alehouse), and Deaglan (from Lansdowne Brewery) for the first time. I had recently started homebrewing and had met them through a mutual acquaintance. I was only recently getting into beer as previously I had been a dedicated bourbon drinker and had only ever had commercially brewed beer which was... uninspiring. At any rate, we were choosing what to have in our respective flights and I saw the title "Sour Beer". After a brief question and answer period I had with my friends, they suggested I try the Rodenbach Grand Cru. I was so blown away by it, I almost didnt believe it was beer! The complexity, the fruitiness, that puckering sourness. I was immediately hooked and have ventured deep into sour beers since then!

      +Josh Cleminson Talk about a great group of people to grab a beer with Josh! I haven't ventured too far into sour beers myself, usually finding them too sour for my liking, but maybe I just haven't found the right one ;)

    The most memorable beer moment ive had is actually from your number one pick Indie Ale House. Living in the junction for the last 15 years it was amazing to finally have somewhere LOCAL to go out with friends and enjoy a pint. Because of Indies success the neighbourhood has grown and many more restaurants and bars have opened. The burger and Broken Hipster are my go to!

    It could be on a beach in Koh Samui esky of ice with ice cold Heineken. It could have bn in my local pub in the west of Ireland. But I think the best beers where drank in the coach and horses in Randwick Sydney with very close friends. That's all you need is close friend makes any beer better..🍻🍻

    Cool vid, and happy to see Indie Ale House come out on top, although disappointed Bellwoods didn't place in the top 5. Most memorable beer? That's easy - Waterbury, VT. Had my first Heady Topper at the cannery a month before they closed to the public. I stood in line with the locals, intent on getting me eight cans of this awesome beer. I noticed many many people coming out with one and two flats of beer (24-48). I thought they were nuts! Of course, I came out with my eight, hopped in the car and headed back to Ottawa. Believe me when I say, that last can stayed in my fridge for longer than it should have. Each day as my tiny supply got depleted, I kept visioning the smart ones who stocked up on their quota. If only I hadn't been so damn cheap! A lesson learned, and still one of my favourite IPAs , nay beers, of all time.

      +Arienne Parzei It was probably the slowest I've ever drank a beer, to be honest. Since that time, I've traded other beers for HT, and thanks to places like GLB and Indie, I've discovered some very enjoyable beers that have satisfied my cravings for now, lol.

    My most memorable beer? Jeez... I think to would have to be having a couple sundowners in Uganda after spending the day trekking with gorillas. The others in my group and I went down to the dock that overlooked Lake Bunyoni (where we were staying for a couple nights) with our Nile Special beer in hand and watched the sunset. :)

    So glad to see Indie AleHouse's success, the owner worked hard to get there, but that's what you have to do when you're a "trailblazer".

    Great vid!!
    Now this may sound funny as I have had a lot of good beer in my travels but a beer that holds strong in my mind with a memory would be a DUFF in Orlando Fl....
    After a long day of walking around Universal and the excitement of kids and feeling like a kid again we settled into Simpsons world pulled up a barstool at Duff Gardens and proceeded to enjoy a DUFFtoberfest beer surrounded by Simpson Characters cartoons and laughter.
    Growing up to the show well before being the age to enjoy a Duff Beer it was hilarious we could actually do this!
    So yes as much beautiful beer as I have enjoyed in Canada, and many from Toronto & area, this was one fun day of being a kid again!
    Cheers!

    My first beer was the most memorable (and one of the most disgusting). I had just finished doing 6-7 hours of yard-work for my dad. He pulled out a couple of lawn chairs and handed me a warm-ish Lucky Lager. It tasted awful, but I felt like such an accomplished badass that I tossed that sucker back anyway.
