Shedinja gives 2 HP EVs when defeated, and I find that hilarious
I was surprised he didn’t mention this. It makes less sense than Yanmega’s 2 Atk EVs since it’s known for its low HP stat.
🤣 probably done as kind of a joke but ended up staying in the games...the irony
I'm sorry say what it has 1 hp how does it give 2 hp evs
@@hibye-die 1 ev for its life 1 for its soul
@@PikaFilmStudios you know it technically stole the soul of anyone who owns one because looking at it's back causes it to steal your soul specifically the hole in its back
The "PUSH A BUTTON" thing would mean "press the A button" to almost all Japanese players. The concept of the indefinite and definite article "a" and "the" is very foreign to the Japanese and so they wouldn't ever read it like "any".
that makes a lot of sense! thanks for the fact!
Wigglytuff is good though, cuz it can hold the Polkadot Bow, which is like the pink bow. Both were replaced with the Silk Scarf in gen 3. They really should bring one of the 2 bows back to Power Up Fairy-type moves.
i think it should be the pink bow because it's the regular one
We have the pixie plate to power up fairy moves
@@Fig_Bender yeah but every type has their own plate
@@wildstarfish3786 so? Why do we need two items in game that functionally do the same thing?
@@Fig_Bender
1. To fit with the other non plate type boosting items.
2. To be an earlier & easier to get item of that kind than the plate.
3. Thinking about it, having two of these items means you can use both in formats that restrict your use of dupe items.
I’d like to see the brick piece be used with fling to win a championship. Or just used with fling period. I want to throw a brick at my opponent.
unfortunately it never made it out of gen 2
Wolfe glicke did something similar with Bread, he used mons with Trick to swap the opponents held item and gave them a piece of bread, pretty funny
Perhaps the brick is a reference to the man who intended to build something in Vermilion City and had a Machop prepare the ground for that? and who, by the way, in the end could never do it as we see in the postgame of the Gen 2 games.🤔
It's probably more likely a reference to the practice of breaking tiles and bricks in martial arts.
@@OtakuUnitedStudio I disagree.
@@BryceRogers_ Any particular reason? Machop is a fighting type and can learn the move Brick Break. Having it be a reference to the man who wanted to build something where what he wanted to build is never specifies seems much more obscure. It seems odd that a broken chunk of brick would have to do with one failed construction project to me.
Since it was later renamed to tile, I'm assuming the brick could've been intended to be like those used in dojos to showcase karate chops or something like that. Might be a cool single use held item if they ever revisit the idea.
Especially because there's a move, Brick Break that was introduced in the same gen.
speaking of that Wii message board fact, you could also have mystery dungeon darkness/time/sky send a message to the Wii message board or your email whenever someone saves your team if you fainted in a dungeon, which was far more useful most of the time.
6:20
IIRC that JrTrainer was replaced in Yellow by the Youngster because it’s now supposed to represent AJ, from the anime! He has a Sandshrew that, if you prolong the fight enough, has Fissure as one of his moves.
The TM69 DOES in fact exsist. Past gen 4 since tms 61-100 werent introduced until then.
Yeah and they made it Rock Polish, up until gen 8 when it was Psycho Cut.
And it just happens to be Rock Polish. Nice :D
nice
Nice
@@astilla9 Nice
I know that Pokemon Prism actually gave the Brick Piece a use as there is someone who needs 20 of them to finish building a bridge.
Just did that yesterday
"Just about every region has some sort of signature bug, like Wurmpul in Hoenn and Blipbug in Galar."
And the entirety of the Gen 1 games. ;P
Too bad we didn't have GTS back in Crystal outside of Japan. That would've sped up the cellphone business and we could've traded a my pidgy for your ho-oh sooner.
huh, i always thought beheeyem learning steel wing was a ufo joke and a joke about area 51
The Gen II games have two more items that I never see anybody talk about. These are the Normal Box and Gorgeous Box, or Wood Box and Paulownia Wood in Japanese. These items when used give the player the Silver and Gold trophies as decorations for the player characters bedroom. They can only be obtained by trading either a Round 1 or 2 amnesia Psyduck from Stadium 1/2JP to GSC. Using the boxes destroys them. There's also the Egg Ticket, a JP exclusive, Crystal mobile event only item that allowed players to get the Odd Egg.
The Crystal fact is actually incredible. Imagine having a GTS in 2001 :O
I always thought elgyem could learn steel wing cause TM51 as in Area 51, and its based on a allien
That was just everyone seeing the coincidence and thinking that meant it was intended.
I have the Gameboy Color cell phone adapter and a Japanese phone required to use it. It still sort of works.
I miss Rumble Rush, I was off work with a broken arm for 3 months and only had one finger i could use that arm, couldn't play a lot of games but I played a lot of rumble rush. I was very sad when they shut it down.
The brick item is how you get the rare ghost type eevee
Here's an idea: Hardcore Nuzlocke but the only item you can use is the brick (or tile) piece
Elgyem and beheyem learning steel wing is a reference to them being aliens. It was tm 51 in black and white being a reference to area 51.
Seriously? That actually is a super cool detail.😮
Unfortunately that's entirely a coincidence, the only reason it can learn it is because it was originally Ally Switch and they forgot to change it
@@aereon_gaming why is it the only one that learns steel wing then? what about all the other pokemon that learn ally switch in gen 5 like Gardevoir and Claydol?
And what about Leavanny which as far as I know, doesn't learn ally switch but does learn TM51 in gen 6?
@@aereon_gaming No it’s not, steel wing is TM 51 throughout gens 6 and 7 and can be learned by elygyem in both gens
TM51 isn't Steel Wing in Gen 5
I maybe mistaken and im not trying to suggest this is true but wasn’t flannery’s father the old hoenn fire type gym leader? Could be interesting if that was kabu
Beheeyem can learn Steel Wings because it is TM 51, referencing Area 51 and aliens. On top of this, the name Steel Wings refers to an UFO.
Elgyem’s name in french is Lewsor, which more or less Roswell backwards. For Beeheyem, in french its name is Neitram, which is Martien backwards. Martien is of course Martian in french, categorizing people living on Mars.
No it isn't. It's a happy mistake that they never bothered fixing which everyone's obsessively tried to claim was intended all these years. The whole thing was debunked when they didn't get Gen 8's new TM51 or TR51.
Pokemon height and color are the only stats programmed into the games that no mechanics can take advantage of.
For example:
Gender has the move Attract and the ability Rivalry.
Weight has the move Heavy Slam and the item Heavy Ball.
Nature affects which form Textricity becomes.
Where the Pokemon was caught in the real world affects the form Vivillion takes.
Personality affects wich Pokemon Wurple becomes and where Sinda's spots are.
Original Trainer ID as well as some hidden numbers affect if a Pokemon is shiny or not.
rivalry ability but for color: rAcIsM
@@prof.reuniclus21 , I mean that would be weird, but they could have an ability or an attack called something like Pigment Extraction, which checks the opposing Pokemon color then has an effect based on the results.
Like white activates hail/snow, purple activate psychic terrain, green activates grassy terrain, blue activates rain, and so on.
Fascinating... I haven’t watched the full video yet but i can sense that its probably...
Fascinating.....
I watched a video, before this one, about the delivery channel for the Wii and that you also mention it in this video is a big coincidence lmao
TR 69 being headbutt is actually really funny to me lmao
DP's WiFi features are actually just Crystal's online stuff. We know the GTS is just what Crystal had (with more features ofc), and similarly the WiFi rooms in the Battle Tower appear to be what Crystal had.
Similarly Crystal had real time online battles and trades with friends (but not with strangers). HOWEVER, you needed to have the same color mobile adapter as your friend for that. There were 3 colors of adapters depending on your phone service. Different colors? No playing with your friends then.
Source: Japanese wikis and an official Nintendo website.
Strange coincidences do exist and Beheeyem's Steel Wing is a great example of that.
"Ev training is a common training practice that I'm not going to go too into depth about"
Goes into depth about EV training lol
not really, I just explained what was necessary to know for the fact to make sense
I would be genuinely surprised if there are screenshots or even pictures of what the online functionality of crystal was like. Because in 2001 we barely had cellphones let alone phones with cameras. I mean someone could have used a normal camera but I also think documenting anything about video games was also something not many ppl did.
Neat analysis video! Thanks for uploading!
I don't know if you mentioned it before but in the post game of HG/SS there's a team rocket grunt that speaks very broken english and when you beat him he says that he's going back to his home country and you can find him in Black and White but I forgot in what town either where the Ice Gym is or where the Flying Gym is
I’ve heard of this, I think I used that fact in one of my first fact videos from 2020
Icirrus City
you didnt dig deep enough for the last one there because as a gen2'er i am filled heavily with nostalgia and mourning the fact i never got to experience getting a legit celebi thru the telephone line like you could in japan back then and ive searched many times online about it and found lots of screenshots of that service. just sadly it prob will just be lost media as it is a webservice u could only access back then and there are 0 archives of that kind of stuff but theres plenty of screenshots of it and how it works from magazines etc from back in the day
i still have a thread of copium and hope though that maybe someone could replicate it or something because u can technically still use a similar service on the dreamcast if you hook things up correctly today and still be able to get decade old content people thought was lost forever on dreamcast
Ironically.. melmetal can't even learn thunder punch in pokemon go
I feel the brick piece is from the machop in vermilion city, because they were building stuff
5:50 Haha yeah! no need to look that up :)
If I ever use a Beheeyem (not likely but still) it's gonna have Steel Wing. It just feels wrong not to give it that.
Starting off with a piece of trivia that I had never even heard of; that boded well for the rest of video to intrigue me with fascinating new facts. I didn't know of the majority of the trivia and the 8:28 Wii food delivery app was a particularly fun one to learn about.
3:25 - I don't know if it is merely coincidence or not, but Meltan bares a resemblance to the London 2012 Olympic mascot... which is ironic then that it can't be obtained in the UK based region of Galar.
Beeheeyem learning steel wind by TM is fine though because Area 51 lol
I love how you use the Minecraft brick
I always thought Beheeyem learning TM51 Steel Wing was a reference to Area 51, though I guess that may have just been a coincidence.
You made that cocktail in two stirs of a lamb's tail!
Cheers to you man I didn’t realize hilberts hat looked like a pokeball lmao gen 5 is the shit
Maybe the brick alludes to the Machop helping his trainer to build a house in vermillion?
押す(osu) more or less just means apply pressure to 'A' button. Basically push and press are the same word in japanese.
The spin thing is a funny glitch with spin tiles
4:12 oh yeah I loved that game
Hey, I don't mean to be bitchy, but I've been watching your Pokemon videos for a little bit now. I'm currently trying to quit drinking, and I'm on day 3 of sobriety from all drugs. I'm not shaming your choice in sponsor, you need to make money and I don't see any inherent problem with drinking. However, I would appreciate it a lot if you included a time to skip to before your next alcohol sponsor. The hardest part of quitting alcohol is how socially acceptable it is. I never saw ads for heroin when I quit that, but drinking is different. Alcohol ads just make me feel like drinking.
Like I said, I don't think you did anything wrong, I love your videos and want to sit through your other sponsor spots so you get that watch time. I'm just expressing my feelings as a fan, I will still watch your videos regardless. If you're reading this, thank you for your time and effort. I hope you have a wonderful day!
I'm sorry about that, and this isn't bitchy at all it is a great response. I never considered situations like yours and I really should have. What I did was add chapters to the video so in the player and in the description you can see timestamps for things like the ad. Aside from that 3 days sober is fantastic and I wish you the best
@@PaPaSea Thank you very much, I honestly didn't expect a response! That's really cool, I'm super happy you were able to edit that in easily. It's hard to always consider every angle something can be viewed from. The fact you're willing to make adjustments when given a reason to says much more about your character than anything else. Ringing the bell notification right now, even bigger fan than I was before! ❤️
@@OmegaSMG Seeing people trying their best to overcome a addiction really makes me happy and i genuinely wish you nothing but the best in your road to sobierty. I personally, don't drink often "probably once in a full moon" but i thankfully learned to never let it take control over me or being dependent of it, but i've seen cases of many that have tried and succeded in overcoming the need after being with it for years.
Any addiction regardless of what it is it becomes hard to overcome at first once you're deep into it, but it's never too late to break off and quit it once and for all. It's all about persistence and motivation to do better for yourself and i know you can do it, the road to recovery is long and somewhat harsh at times, but always surround yourself with positive vibes. Once again i wish you the best in overcoming this.
7:50 First time around I heard the stress is comfy and easy to wear and had to rewind to read the text on screen, cuz I was just listening to the video, and believe you me, I was really intrigued with what this was.
But, as always great video, mate. Thanks for the awesome content. Hope your channel will grow even faster, cuz you deserve it.
One love ❤️
I'm pretty sure Beheeyem still know Tm51 because of area 51, as it is a secret agent alien
If you haven't heard the mobile link music from Crystal, it's adorable
It learns steel wing because it comes from a UFO
Prehaps the brick had a role to play to help build that old man’s building?
Can you farm brick pieces by trading the same machop back and forth?
PALPITOAD can’t learn ice beam-
It’s a fucking toad
The first sponsor of yours I wanted to take advantage of and it's not available in Canada 😭😭😭
I sure miss your random fact videos
I have a full playlist of them in case you missed any
I'm pretty sure Mewtwo was planned to be playable in Smash 64 but scrapped, not as a Pokeball Pokemon.
I swear to god I thought one of the ingredients was gonna be two shakes of a lambs tail
im pretty sure tm69 in at least gen 5 is rock polish
yeah
Finally, having just turned 21 has a fucking use now. I'm getting the Caloosahatchee and I can't be stopped
I hope they never make a regional version of a big type, make it tradition
Out of curiosity, what kind of bourbon did you use in that drink during the ad?
You can get ghost type eeveelution by using brick on it
Nice bro
Brick fling effect 1 hit ko on every pokemon but the pokemon who fling the Brick got critical depression for is lost end he/she ko himself/herself
Kabu had to escape TooMuchWater™️
They should make TM69 be rock slide or attract
tm69 does exist, its rock polish
WHAT DO YOU MEAN NO BUG REGIONAL FORM, Does Kleavor mean nothing to you...
early route small regional bug
The brick peace was a Minecraft sprite in this video
The cocktail maker doesn't include the alcohol right? If so a minor or someone like me that doesn't drink could get it and make non alcohol cocktails.
Yup, he said a few times that it doesn't come packaged with any alcohol.
Huge fan of the NO series no I am not joking
is there a policeman trainer class in gold silver and crystal because if so we can definitely find some use for the brick piece
there are a couple >:)
The brick is a brick sprite from minecraft
7:20 does kleavor count?
Who else played pokemon prism and didn't think to collect brick pieces?
nice
I Know the purpose of the brick piece!
Brick brick brick BRIICCCK brick brick brick *it's fun*
I heard somewhere that Kabu is Flannery's father. I thought he said it himself in-game, but maybe I heard it online somewhere. I forget.
He's not, but we know Flannery had a famous grandfather who used to be an E4 in Hoenn.
please could you play trading card game?
Cool I'm early for this one.
