What do you think of those Lifan engines? I'm thinking of replacing a Honda 200 engine with one on my Phantom.
@@warntheidiotmasses7114 As long as you have a heavy steel frame and plenty of room in the frame. The Lifan would be a good choice as long as the mounts can be

142k miles is impressive. Someone absolutely adored that bike.
I have a Africa Twin RD04 at home with just as many miles on it an it was hardly ever taken care of. My Uncle rides it from time to time but it didn't even see a proper cleaning letting alone service for the last 15 years.
Still runs flawlessly.

my father used to have a 2 stroke honda semi manual (no clutch, but with 4 gears) scooter/bike, that bike took a beating (going off road lots of times), long miles and it still running great, but sadly my father sold it (i think it was back in 2015), and he kinda regretted it considering how rare that bike is.
A Harley that is twice as loud and vibrates 10 times as much? You basically re-created my bike, a 2001 1200 sportster with drag pipes

That predator 212 is probably the best engine you could of chose because they are highly modifiable and a Honda clone and the predator is a very popular engine among us mini bike guys
No he needed a bigger predator like a 300 or 400 cc you can mod those as well people just like the 212 because it’s cheap, bike obviously needed a bit more power in the engine.

@@OldDryEye It's a junk 212cc Chinese snowblower motor 6.5hp. Are you thinking of a real performance 125cc two stroke engine??.. those can put out over 40hp, and would certainly pull this heavy bike along.
@@KrustyKlown no no need for performance anything I run a Chinese 125 4 Stoke in my 1958 scrambler, pulls it to 64mph no problem. Like you say could be low hp think im running around 10-12

Actually, a 670cc Predator V-twin makes a great bike engine. And fully built they make 50+hp and sound absolutely amazing

Most people, in the UK have enough trouble telling the exhaust sound of a Harley from that of a farm tractor..... this just adds more confusion!!

I used to use the 212 predator on the old school mini bikes , like coleman , ect. It would pull wheelies right off the bat. Hilarious guys , love it.

Torque is better for acceleration and hp is better for top speed. I rather have more torque than hp. To each their own.
Really half to think about it for street motorcycle where in america would you go faster than 80 mph on the road I do the speed limit everywhere even on my sport bikes I don't want to loose a Class A CDL so I have my reason's. On a racetrack horsepower is fine but on the street who cares! My Buell XB12R doesn't have a lot of horsepower but it does have torque it accelerates and keeps up with my buddy's on there GSXR, CBR's Ducati and Aprilia on the streets but we are having fun stop light to stop light and cruise on the highway doing the speed limit we learned from our other friends not to do crazy things on the street had a friend die from doing a 140+ mph wheelie on the highway.

@@cjim3902 The Revtech 110 that was in it has 125 rear wheel horsepower and 125 rear wheel torque that's plenty for a cruiser.
My bmw has 136 hp, just enough, 0-60 in about 3.5 seconds, if you want to ride you want performance or get a car

Julian Crooks They work well. I put one in an old 750 Shadow that had a blown engine. I removed the governor and put a cam and valve springs in it and it felt more powerful than the stock engine.
Sean you HAVE TO GO 670cc keep it Harley traditional (V-Twin baby) and there's enough mods to get an easy 40hp. V-Twin and I guarantee you will have the performance and satisfy traditional way

Chuck Whitson you can can get 30 out of a 212 with a stage 4 performance kit! I think @carsandcameras got like 80 or 90 hp out of a vtwin 670 check out some of the mods and support for predator engines. There’s a cult following and the aftermarket has them covered!

53mph is astounding. That's really good for such a heavy bike. I make all kinds of motor bike from lawn mowers n anything else. N the transmission is key. I always make homemade belt drive two speeds. But now I'll be heading to a motorcycle shop to pick up any legit bike transmission . I've always thought of it but now it's certain. Thanks for the idea guys. Can't wait to put it on a bicycle. But with a 190cc Briggs flathead. I'm so excited.
