Merry Pebbles Resort - should you visit?

Video recorded at Merry Pebbles Resort in April/May 2023 - about 400km from Joburg. Great camping resort which we recommend you to visit it too.
Pros:
- Water stream crossing the property
- Good restaurant on site (restricted hours though)
- Good shop on site
- Pedal Karts and many activities for the children
- Tennis Court
- Hot swimming pool
- Solar system to keep the lights on
Cons:
- no campsite allocation upon booking
- not too many water taps in the camping area
- ablutions under-dimensioned for the quantity of campsites

I saw that there is a squatter camp next to Merry Pebbles. How does that impact on the safety? You also mentioned that they are pet friendly. Nothing is mentioned about it on their site.

Hi I just rode my bike all around and also checked now good maps satellite view, not sure where this squatter you’re referring to is. In any case I didn’t have any safety concerns while staying there. Regarding pets, they are allowed on the camping site only, see below what was written on my booking rules:
“No pets allowed in pool area or buildings. Pets must be under control at all-times and please clean up after them!”
