This is great. But I have to defend Jon here from some of the negative comments. Almost every man wants a boy as their first child. I don't know why it is something we think about. I wanted a boy first but I got a girl, I was a little bit worried cause I didn't know what I would do with a girl. I had a bit of tunnel vision. But now I have the best child in the world. She is exactly like me which is awesome. I don't have a daughter I have a best friend. If I was to say something to myself 10 years ago it would be "Don't worry if it's a boy or girl do the same thing and it will all turn out OK". I'm not sexist and neither is Jon he is just inexperienced as a father and even if it was a girl he would be the best dad ever.
Thank you! It was great said! :) this is also what i meant before. It's just out of inexperience, which can lead to some sort of "fear" not knowing on how to behave, that makes the mind thinking "I want a boy". It's all about the attitude and to be brave and open minded :)

He just uses a very clumsy way to express what he means. I have experienced in life being a human, not counting my life experiences and reflecting on th happening by being a gender. Easy.

The book version: far from everyone is privileged to own or even have the opportunity to borrow a car or even sit in a car regularly so I really can't agree with you on that first point. Second, it's not a human right to own a car so it's not a basic life skill to know how to fix cars in my book. But I do think that everyone who owns a car really should know at least how to fix smaller problems, but some people can't change tires themselves because of backpain, arthritis and many other reasons, so to demand that everyone can do it themselves is not ok. Also girls who get brought up getting told directly or indirectly that they can't learn about cars and gets pushed aside probably won't feel motivated to fix cars, just guessing. The attitude of "I can't teach my daughter a much as my son" is off course going to push a daughter into thinking she is less capable of learning learning that. Most "girls" who own cars actually Knows how to change tires etc. But there is a nid image of women that they are incapable and can not cope with "guystuff" (all made up to exclude, control and reduce women in the past...and still). So some men tend to push girls aside, assume that they can't - when they actually want to try and even can already. The actual problem (in this example) is that there are people (often men) who maintain that female image of inability to learn certain interests like cars, mechanics etc. So all men should teach each other to meet women with the same attitude as they do to each other, that they actually are capable.

But Jon needs some testosteron for his #TeamOverkillNextGeneration, teaching him the trades of extreme skiing, car/boat modding, racing and so on! Jon I was the same way and was lucky enough to have a son first and then 3 years later had a girl and I can tell you from experience and being much much older then you and my kids are in there 20’s now that it’s great having a son first to protect your daughter but a girl willl melt your heart on ways you never thought was possible, there is a reason boys are called mamas boys and girls are daddy’s little girl .. my life dat doesn’t start until I get my phone call or hear my daughter lol my son goes off and I don’t hear from him for weeks but that’s being a young man and living life but you’re daughter will never be far from you ever you won’t allow it
i just had a boy 3 months ago, finding out at the ultrasound was the most nerve wracking day of my life. I couldn't have been happier to have a boy! So stoked for you guys!

Jon I was the same way and was lucky enough to have a son first and then 3 years later had a girl and I can tell you from experience and being much much older then you and my kids are in there 20’s now that it’s great having a son first to protect your daughter but a girl willl melt your heart on ways you never thought was possible, there is a reason boys are called mamas boys and girls are daddy’s little girl .. my life dat doesn’t start until I get my phone call or hear my daughter lol my son goes off and I don’t hear from him for weeks but that’s being a young man and living life but you’re daughter will never be far from you ever you won’t allow it
Also lol congrats your life had just changed forever you will never be the same but in the best way possible, you guys will make great parents
