You get slowed down if you stay in ghost mode, that's why you guys get really sluggish at times. The ghost mode persists if you stay in another player's space, so if you're all in ghost mode while in each other, all of you are going to be slow until you decide to split off and get breathing room for your vehicle

If anyone here reading this comment is debating getting this game PLEASE DO! It is incredibly fun and it deserves way more of a playerbase than what it has currently. It's worth the money and is endless chaotic fun. ALSO: the game is FAR much better on keyboard than on controller (despite the warning message saying you need to play controller). This is more of a small movement obstacle dodging game than it is a generic racing game where perfect precision isn't always necessary.
