    Good honest review mate - nice to have opinions rather than just a whole list of facts and figures! Your videos are definitely improving over time too - you're way more relaxed on the camera now.

    Hi Gary,
    Great vid. I have never used these shoes. I like the idea of the toe cover, I 'think' it may be to stop toes rubbing through which is my pet hate. I always look for a shoe that has a tab on toes to prevent holes.
    PS. I might be totally wrong, but will have a look at these thanks.

      Yeah cool , it’s nearly a year on I think and I ran them in the ground…. Very durable.
      Funny enough I have just ordered the new version (4) so sure you will get a bargain if you shop for the (3). Thanks 🙏🏻

    I've found the peg trails to be a great 'commuter' type shoe (as all those new fangled Influencers seem to call them!). Start on the road, a mile or two before the trails start and the same on the way back (ie 90% of my lunchtime runs from work). As you say in the vid, not cut out for the major hardcore trails or mud, but excellent on the majority of UK bridal ways and paths. I managed to get about 600 miles out of my original pair - so very good value for money; hoping for similar in the Trail 3s that have just arrived (non-goretex version).
    Good vid - and good to see you back on your feet after UTS. One (ok, two!) question though - you seem to land really forward on your toes in some of those clips. Is this just your natural style, or something you have worked to do? Does it impact your choice of shoes?
    #fyb

      @GaryHouseCoaching  Před 2 lety

      Commuter shoe is a new one for me so thanks mate ha! I don't land on my toes at all (usually) so maybe just how it looks in that shoe but also the fact that A) I don't usually wear shoes with a drop that high B) slowing down my natural running for the camera. I only wear neutral shoes with low drop usually mate... :) FYB

    Hi Gary, interesting take on the shoe. Thought I was set on the GTX version of this shoe living in the UK, but what you said was interesting about them locking wet in. If you had to choose between this and the non GTX version what would you go with? I'm not a serious runner but most trails will be off road, most of the season and only 5-10k distances. Thanks.

    • @GaryHouseCoaching
      @GaryHouseCoaching  Před 2 lety +1

      Good question, I’m actually about to do a short update on this show as I am still running in it 9 months later which is pretty good these days! I live and run in N.Wales so always value good drainage in a shoe over being waterproof…
      If the non GTX was more affordable I would 100% go with that - they should pay you quite a while too 👍🏼

    • @creativechimp03
      @creativechimp03 Před 2 lety

      @@GaryHouseCoaching thanks Gary, oh I look forward to seeing that. I think I’m leaning towards the non GTX so this has helped. You aren’t struggling with grip with these in Wales then?

    • @GaryHouseCoaching
      @GaryHouseCoaching  Před 2 lety

      @@creativechimp03 I live next to the forest in this video which is miles of hrs pack MTB trails / fire road so only wear them for these runs really. Anything that’s really muddy or technical I would have something else 👍🏼

    • @creativechimp03
      @creativechimp03 Před 2 lety

      @@GaryHouseCoaching yes that make sense, here, the trails are less compacted and certainly boggy, and slippery in places. It seems an area of the market for shoes that is hard to find, trail-based with good grip but comfy for a beginner.

      @GaryHouseCoaching  Před 2 lety

      Sorry Cohen missed this one - don't let people tell you that your form is terrible.... as you build up your body will figure out what is best for you. Increase easy volume first then add short bursts of speed into your workouts with strides, hill sprints, short intervals :)
