I felt a bit of a Duke resurgence with all the Gianni Matragrano memes (and John St John voicing the Postal Dude in Postal 4, a pretty Duke-esque game), not to mention the recent Forever 2001 build leak. Now that Embracer Group owns Gearbox, and 3D Realms is done battling for custody over Duke, maybe we can actually see a new Duke Nukem game sometime this decade. I'd personally love if the game was about how Duke fell off and faded into obscurity, and now he has to reclaim his fame and show the world that he's still got it. Bonus points if the Postal Dude makes a cameo appearance.
You are so right. It's a damn shame these so called "marketing" teams don't care about or pay any attention to what's trending or going viral on social media and just don't capitalize off of any of it. Like you said, when things like those leaks go viral, or when any memes about a game go viral, or even when popular youtubers play an older game and draws a lot of attention to it, attracting their fans and new audiences to discover and get into these franchises, times like those are the perfect times for these marketing teams TO DO SOMETHING, FOR GOD'S SAKES ANYTHING with these "dead" franchises.

Not as fit as he once was and just enjoying life in his little casino, another Alien Invasion suddenly engulfs the Earth, the EDF struggle to contain the invasion and Duke realises that his time to save the Earth has come again, and the events unfold, as people slowly realise that Duke wasn't lying about saving Earth the last time, As Duke progresses, he finds out that Dr Proton is still alive and has been in contact with the Aliens giving them his superior technology in exchange for assistance and total rule of Earth, and we finally end up with Duke facing Dr Proton for the last time.

they failed exactly on where Doom 2016 got it right, Doom 2016 understood what the games before it are, a fast paced combat horror game where you play as the horror. @@shockedhorizon5308 Technically they didn't create Wolfenstein since the Wolfenstein series started on the Commodore 64 with Castle Wolfenstein and was made by Muse Software, coming out in 1981. Wolfenstein 3D came out in 1992 and hence why it was called 3D is because it was the 3rd game in the series. Id Software was able to use the IP because the rights had lapsed and hence they could purchase the IP. They did get the blessing of the original creator later which is pretty cool.

"No.... Please Megadeth, let me greave" - Duke Nukem
If you had this game released back then, it'd probably get about a 7-8 out of 10. People standards are too damn high, this game was fun as shit I don't care what other people think lol
***** We have high standards because iD Software set it that high with Duke 3D.
Matthew Halsey Duke 3D was 3D Realms. It dueled on release with Quake, which was id's latest offering at the time.
Matthew Halsey Duke Nukem: Time To Kill. Best Duke Nukem game ever
Fekalsson I hold Land of the Babes in a pretty high regard myself.
MrHankTango
Land Of The Babes was great too, but Time to Kill is my favorite :D
“When it’s done”
Duke Nukem Forever is a straight shooter, shoot first ask question later! I liked it!
Ya..but a 4 Weapons limit (on pc at least) isnt the same as having a full arsenal like in Duke 3D
Only reason people thought this game was bad was because peoples standards got too high after 12 years. Still one of my favorite themes today
it was my first Duke Nukem game even though I grew up at the time of the First Duke Nukem games
@Andrew eh, to each their own i guess
@Rupee350 It's actually called Grabbag and was originally composed by Lee Jackson for Duke Nukem 3D (as level music, but it was so awesome that George Broussard and the rest of the Duke3D team decided to make it the main theme).
Someone license the game to Id Software. They did the Doom, Wolfenstein, and Quake (slightly) some justice.
wdym "do them justice"? ID Software founded all three of those series
@@GinraiPrime666 oh yeah forgot about that, but the thing is that muse went bankrupt at some point and then ID created the "new" wolfenstein series
@@shockedhorizon5308 Pretty much. Muse Software had folded by them and apparently a guy in Michigan owned the Wolfenstein IP at the time somehow so Id just purchased it. Wolfenstein as most of us know it today is the creation of Id Software so you weren't entirely wrong :)
They're technically on contract with Bethesda Softworks.
Listing to this while taking a dump.

This game is fucking awesome. You say otherwise youre an alien lover
Man, This is such a epic rendition of the theme song. It's a shame it was the best part of the game :(

The F-82 is the USAS finest very long range escort fighter which happens to be literally the two P-51 H Mustang fused together and has the super-sized like the McDonald Grand Mac. :3
Plz continue from here and dont break the chain. :3
This hits hard with the leaked version
Goddamnit, 8 years (and a half) already.
Hot take: Duke Forever was still fun, people just set their expectations too high. Duke Nukem is supposed to be silly and dumb. Given, the levels didn't have all the secrets and cool concepts, but there was plenty of funny shit in it (teenager humor, which we expected)
@Andrew No, the game was fine, and I'm saying it as an ACTUAL DN Fan. I wasn't saying that it was better than 3d, Wasn't insinuating that it trump's 3D's map design. That's hard to do to this day. It was funny, and felt fun to kill shit. But of course my comment has to get some aspies still playing Dos in mommies basement.
That's subjective.
@@truant2827 Just because you like something doesn't make it good, nor are you special for liking it lol
@@soda3185 just because someone disagrees with my opinion doesn't mean I can't beast on them lol
If only Duke Nukem Forever was even fraction as awesome as it's theme
