- Fatwood is pine wood that is resin filled and is highly flammable. I talk about how to find fatwood and how to identify fatwood, and how to process it to make natures candle. I show you how to identify pine sap and talk about its many benefits including its antiseptic properties. I also show you how to gather pine sap in a pine forest to make natures torch. This knowledge can be key to survival if you become lost while hiking or you happen to run out of fuel while camping. You also get to meet my bushcraft cat.

Hey This is trey your nephew
@@Kinda_Crazy_ T-Ray!!!!!!! What’s up buddy!
Great Information... thanks for keeping these rolling!
Fat wood is excellent stuff Jason. I do keep a piece in the fire kit for all the reasons you mentioned. I'll have to try that bit of sap on the hands for the hand drill.
Nate
I didn’t realize that we had so much fat wood on our property. You better hide it from your buddies 😁❤️
Informative video about finding Fatwood and the antiseptic qualities of it. Always good to keep these things in mind in case you get stranded in the woods. Your beautiful cat is a good companion.
Love the unik bushcraft cat. hehe
Kool looking cat
Excellent video Jason thank you
Thanks for watching!!
Great vid. Btw, what's Alan been up to, lately? I miss the two of you "duo dynamics" of bushcraft scholastics.
Ha! Thanks. He is a busy man.
Do not waste it.
Several of our post are lighter.
When I started watching videos taking about fat wood, I took a short while to figure out what they were talking about it. When I saw someone talking and using it I knew right a way.
I have some of these concrete logs I have been burning on many years. They just do not burn.
Fantastic and informative video
Great info mate another awesome video 👍 this weekend I'm gonna set up my poncho alongside my dirt bike same way u did in previous video, I'll also search for fatwood 👍😎💪
Rock on!!!
Great info Jason, thank you

Awesome ideas and video man! Thanks!
Thanks!
I knew it! I need a bush cat.
Yes you do!
Hang on a second, your wearing BLUE JEANS! Alan will be sharpening his shovel if he catches you wearing those bad boys in the woods! lol solid tips as always.
Hahahahaha!!!! This was me “dressed up” for the Wife. It was Valentine’s Day and I am a hopeless romantic. Don’t worry, had all my normal EDC stashed in those skinny jeans.
For real I need one of them knives
Soon…I’ll have a link for them.
Excellent! 👍👍

Great video! Where’s Alan?
He is a busy man.
Thanks!!
@@ONThree Thank you very mutch... have a nice day.... see you….
Great stuff as usual. Question about the fire sleeves. I purchased 2 of them and both won’t keep the top on. You push it on and it pops off. It’s really frustrating since everyone worth their salt says these exotac fire sleeves are the greatest thing since sliced bread. Maybe I’m not using it correctly. I have a regular sized bic lighter in them. Has this happened to you?
Yes, that has happened to me. There’s a lubricant of some sort on the ridges that’s leftover from the manufacturing process. A little bit of rubbing alcohol or wiping down with soapy water will take care of it.
@@ONThree thanks man. I was getting pretty frustrated with these things. I will do that now.
Question...does fat wood have a shelf life? I found some last summer, but the "fatwood smell" is pretty much gone. I took some shavings off, but the smell isn't as strong as I remember it. Maybe my sniffer is off?
I’m sure, just like everything, it has a shelf life. But it is a really long one. Some of the fatwood you will find will not be as potent but will get the job done. I have found much better examples than what is shown in this video and it has a very strong smell and burns like gasoline.
My sister has Garwood.the knife the knife when?
Very soon.
I meant to say fattwood,my sister has fattwood.. however she's sharp girl and your knife looks like it will make the perfect gift.
One for her and one for me of course.that being said we can wait.

Bruh?
Bro?
I love your videos. I watch them every time you post. And maybe it’s just me, BUT, I find it annoying when you post those little snippets going over what I already watched a day ago. Not sure why it’s necessary to do that. I get enough notifications as it is. Am I the only one who doesn’t like those?
The shorts help bring new subscribers to my channel that wouldn’t have found out. I don’t like creating them but it does help. It should notify you that it’s a short and not a regular video. Thanks for watching!
@@ONThree I figured it had to be something like that. But it doesn't notify that it's a short. Unless I'm not seeing it?
