That's probably taro leaves around the pork. It looks like lau lau. You can substitute spinach.

1st Aprub. That place is AMAZING!!! Here in the Philippines, we also have several farmers market put up during the weekends and my favorite is the "Bancheto", a group of food stalls with awesome foods.

Oh snap. You were here in Hawaii. It would have been awesome to run into you around the island. I used to work at KCC so I'm super familiar with that farmer's market. I'm also originally from Seattle! So ... same? lol. And I'm half-Asian like your child! So many connections. ;-) lol.

The BanhMi is expensive, that should have been about $10 at best. The Portuguese sausage on the roll was better value and looked delicious 😋
