  • Today we welcome NBA player Jonathan Isaac back to the show to discuss the amazing success of his book, "Why I Stand," as well as what's been going on for him as an unvaccinated player in the NBA. Jonathan talks about why he wrote the book and why it was so important to him to stand by his values during the extremely chaotic summer of 2020 rather than capitulate to the BLM narrative. We also talk about his faith, how he became a Christian, and how that faith in God has helped him through his academic and athletic career.

Fun story-my husband and I first learned about Jonathan because we were staying at the Four Seasons Orlando the same weekend as his wedding. My husband just finished reading Why I Stand and sent a copy to a friend. Great encouragement!!

I absolutely love "you cannot stand for God and God not stand for you" I'm currently in a season of life where it feels like I'm being forced to choose a side. It's not my hope to lose everyone else but if I do, I'll stand with God. I'll gain so much more in eternity.

Despite his childhood experience and the woke culture he was surrounded by in the NBA, it’s incredible that Jonathan had the wisdom and courage to take “a stand” against a movement like BLM that claims to be for the good of black people, yet he saw through that illusion and how it was antithetical to the Gospel, the only real solution and Movement that changes and molds hearts to be like Jesus. All of the other movements create hardened, hateful, deceitful, and divisive hearts who live only for themselves and are unwitting pawns in the hands of the enemy. I am SO thankful for his wisdom to see this truth and his courage to take a bold stand in every area of his life. This will produce fruit for the Kingdom - keep it up Jonathan!

You're brainwashed. I'm not a member of the BLM group, but I know a lot of people you'd consider "the enemy" who are, and they are all very peaceful, loving people who support good cops and would do anything for anyone - including you. You can't paint entire groups with a broad brush because of the few bad apples you see on the news.

He is such an example of why we have to seek answers from the Lord *on everything* and not culture, our feelings, or our own thoughts, etc. With the Lord comes clarity - revelation. He gives us answers that go beyond the veil of what we are fed as reality, as truth, and shows us the lies and the enemy’s attempt(s) to sow more dissension, fear, and hatred amongst people. We have to see with the truth. The real truth.

When he talks about God seeking him out, it touched me. I have been on my own spiritual journey and more and more i have God popping up in conversation, topics in videos, mentions of spirituality in tv shows, etc. Its made me reflect on my own life experiences and honestly, i have too many instances that cant be explained by anything else other than God, or an angel, was looking over me. Many many times i feel a warmth around me when i pray or think about my own stances on spirituality. Im not sure if the Christian bible is *the* bible to follow but i know God, or whatever name perferred, wants us to be good people and take accountability for our wrong doings. Im so excited to read Jonathans book, he's got wisdom of an old soul. Both Allie and Jonathan are doing, and will continue to do, such amazing things💕

I was surprised he didn’t mention sin or being a sinner (which we all are) or forgiveness. For sure thru Christ, God helps us be courageous and bold and many other things, but we don’t want people to seek Jesus so they can be comforted and brave. We want them to seek Jesus because they have a sin issue and they need Jesus to save them from the wrath of God. Repentance is paramount. Acknowledging our sin is the first step. Courage and comfort and direction will be the bonuses that come with true repentance and submission to Jesus Christ.

Funny how White's go through the same thing in predominantly black communities. Race cuts both ways! I know I have experienced it most of my life. There has to be more to the story than what he is saying. I grew up in the Bronx in the 60s and 70s this fellow is the mid late 90s and very diffeent world. If Ethiopia is a derogatory term which I do not believe it is or was meant to be than how do you define Honkey? White boy? White b--ch? The designated terms to show hate and racial animus by blacks toward White people. We forget about the constant cries and allegations by blacks blaming their own moral failure on racism. Or that they blindly support progressive Democrat politics. Naples Florida is a very conservative town and most are wary and suspicious of blacks. I have seen too often whites bend over backwards to accommodate blacks when they are outnumbered. Also the time of his youth black militancy was at its highest since the 1960s and 70s. Gangster rap with all of its anti white political overtones was in its hey day. Much of this is ignored as well as blacks seeing racism in everything. When I used to play basketball with blacks I was referred to as Bird. Larry Bird and it was not meant to be flattening. Obviously he survived whatever issues he says he faced. No burning crosses no white sheets etc. He was brought into the principles office because he is black? I question that. Blacks were already moving up in society. In fact the median income of black women was higher than white women in the early 90s. Racism was fading fast and a more liberal spirit was gaining rapidly. Very rapidly in fact. Look at how much hip hop has dominated white teens and athletes in the last 30 years. Professional sports adopts black street culture and themes in all their promotions. Blacks get preferences in so many ways are allowed to get away with many evils and have done great harm politically to this nation. There is a vendetta against white people and has been an integral part of the Democrat political machine which is coming to a head right now.
I'm sorry to say this but blacks have become the weapons for the new Marxism represented by a Marxist BLM movement. If there is a concern about the plight of blacks in the face of a grossly exaggerated and generally fictitious white supremacist spirit which lies at the heart of the problem then the white supremacy ought to be discovered in racist Margaret Sanger's murder clinics which still operate ubiquitously unlike the KKK.
The two most dangerous places for a black person to be is in the WOMB of a black woman. The second the inner city where blacks are mostly murdered by fellow thugs and criminals.
The white man in a blue or green medical outlet with his white assistant are the legalized version of the KKK in every planned murderhood clinic in the country. Here is where the white man poses his greatest danger. Not Naples Florida.

“He was despised and rejected- a man of sorrows, acquainted with deepest grief. We turned our backs on him and looked the other way. He was despised, and we did not care. Yet it was our weaknesses he carried; it was our sorrows that weighed him down. And we thought his troubles were a punishment from God, a punishment for his own sins! But he was pierced for our rebellion, crushed for our sins. He was beaten so we could be whole. He was whipped so we could be healed. All of us, like sheep, have strayed away. We have left God’s paths to follow our own. Yet the Lord laid on him the sins of us all. He was oppressed and treated harshly, yet he never said a word. He was led like a lamb to the slaughter. And as a sheep is silent before the shearers, he did not open his mouth. Unjustly condemned, he was led away. No one cared that he died without descendants, that his life was cut short in midstream. But he was struck down for the rebellion of my people. He had done no wrong and had never deceived anyone. But he was buried like a criminal; he was put in a rich man’s grave. But it was the Lord’s good plan to crush him and cause him grief. Yet when his life is made an offering for sin, he will have many descendants. He will enjoy a long life, and the Lord’s good plan will prosper in his hands. When he sees all that is accomplished by his anguish, he will be satisfied. And because of his experience, my righteous servant will make it possible for many to be counted righteous, for he will bear all their sins. I will give him the honors of a victorious soldier, because he exposed himself to death. He was counted among the rebels. He bore the sins of many and interceded for rebels.”
    ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭53:3-12‬ ‭NLT‬‬
"For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life." John 3:16
God loves you so much and showed that by sending His Son to die for us so that we may inherit eternal life. We deserve hell but He gave us heaven through faith in Jesus. He took the punishment we deserved and by putting our faith in Him we can be saved. The Key To Eternal Life:

As BLM has developed, what's so different about Jonathan's reasoning and Allie's reasoning is that Jonathan is moved that the love of God is what we need to come together in the face of tragedy whereas Allie believes (and believed) because George Floyd had a criminal record, his death was his reckoning and BLM was a defense of his evil. Worlds apart. Different Jesus as reference.
