I haven't watched Scandal, but this reminds me of pretty much every investigation and heist movie and show I've seen.
If you ever do go back and watch Scandal you will also see just how good a spoof this is of specific characters and actors on the show (they included lots of references to the main cast in a pretty short video). Of course on the show there are lots of new characters coming and going. None of them express any surprise or confusion when asked to do impossible tasks or when seeing other characters follow absurd instructions ridiculously quickly, pretty much always with complete success.

I think leverage is a bit better because it takes them days but still that is astronomically short

This sketch made me realize that what looks like snappy, fast-paced, intelligent writing in movies and shows like this is actually lazy, all-too-convenient writing.

The face acting is so good in this one. I swear. Jay and Beck could literally have no lines, and I would recognize them from the show. They’re all amazing. And that Fitz/Liv scene was hilarious. The writing is spoofed so well.

Lena’s face at the start, the dumbfounded, mouth agape look, is one of the best facial expressions I’ve seen on snl. It’s absolutely perfect.

They really missed the most prominent aspect of every scandal episode. The longwinded, forceful, and fast speeches characters spiel off for dramatic effect, usually over some social or political issue. They are kind of impressive, until you hear one too many of them. Then it just sounds like overinflated melodrama, making a molehill into a mountain.

I love how every character was like a super human with a personality disorder except the almost non existent president who seemed to only be there to serve a weird nonsensical and unrealistic love triangle 😂. Props to whoever wrote this one it was spot on

Totally agree. I especially like when she was in that Brooklyn bubble sketch after the election. OK, she doesn't have as much pizzazz as Leslie Jones does. But there should have been room for both. I often wonder if American TV execs or audiences are intimidated/mystified by a very attractive black woman who doesn't act as a stereotype.
