What set Jimmy Page apart was his use of alternative tunings, quick time signature changes, and overall willingness to produce sounds not normally heard in Rock music at that time. He approached his guitar playing from a totally emotional POV. While technically brilliant, the overall emotion felt by him and the listener was paramount.
